This was a decent place but didn't quite live up to expectations. The interior is cool. The wood work behind the bar is spectacular and fun to look at. The bartender was friendly and prompt in service. The drinks were ok. As a whisky drinker, with a name like Sazerac, I expected to be able to get some spectacular whisky drinks. I asked for a vieux carre, which the bartender wasn't familiar with (ok, not the most common drink). I had a boulevardier instead, which was just ok. This place is awesome. Great patio friendly service never had a bad experience and they are very professional. I read a review where someone said that women were treated poorly. I have never seen that and I must admit that person sounds like a total Karen when they didn't even give the management a chance. Finally made it here! Didn't realize how close it is to where I live, but this place is amazing! Was doing a little day drinking haha and came here afterwards around 5:30/6. It was obviously not crowded. We decided to sit outside because it was a beautiful day and why not? Beautiful patio with tons of high and low tables, and even another bar outside. However, we ordered drinks inside and then took them to the patio. The bartender was so nice! I didn't get her name but we had a few questions about the drinks and she let us sample them! The 2 cocktails we sampled were on tap! And guess what!? They didn't taste like it. They tasted as if she just made them in front of us. We sampled the Jamaican Mia blue Hawaiian and the Crystal cosmopolitan. The Hawaiian was pretty good. Beautiful blue color if you care about pretty drinks. The cosmo was our FAV! an instant winner. (See pics) the drink was strong but the good flavors canceled out the alcohol taste. Probably why we ended up a litttttle more tipsy than planned. Got more crowded the later it got (obviously). I always come here when I'm downtown! You can tell the bartenders really care about making a good drink. My friend ordered a negroni and wasn't a fan and the bartender made her something else without us having to ask, he insisted even because he didn't want her to drink something she wasn't enjoying. From the moment we came to the bar I really enjoyed the atmosphere and all of the staff was super friendly. The only reason I'm giving this place a three is because I think it would be cool if they had some live music like a band or blues singer. Also the seating is almost all high tops which is not what I expected and was not very comfortable for me. read more

Saturday day drinking...popped in here and was FLOORED at how beautiful the bar and patio area are! I was so excited to try this place out, and don't get me wrong, the drinks were amazing, however, the service was a bit disappointing. My friend and I stood at the bar and waited over 15 minutes before someone even acknowledged our presence, and even then, it was because someone else in our group managed to order. I understand that they are cocktails and take time to make, but there was no line at the bar and someone could have at least said: "we will be right with you". I definitely want to come back and give it another try, hopefully, it is just growing pains! read more

This was a nice looking place to try while we waited for our movie to start next door. Great selection of beer and cocktails. My date saw all the whiskey options and decided to try. He was told " the good stuff" was on the right side and when he came back he had selected something. All was good until the bill came. It was a 60.00 glass of whiskey!!!! This is one of the best spots for delicious and creative drinks in Phoenix. The Smoke and Berries is one of the best drinks I've ever had. Some of the bartenders are awesome, others are not so great. If you go on a First Friday, plan on a crowd. They don't serve food, but food trucks are often parked out front and I think you can bring in food. I watched this place develop over the last year and have joined friends for cocktails twice. Each time the cocktails have been lovely, and the vibe has been pretty laid back. My only complaints are that 1) both times the service was pretty slow, the second time to the point that I almost went to the bar to pay, as I wasn't sure if my served fell off the face of the earth; and 2) they randomly turned up the music at 7:30 pm on Friday. While I understand that's normally the time that people start to pre-game heavily for going out, it made it difficult to interact with my friends across the table...plus, why do you need loud music at a cocktail bar where everyone is sitting down and talking? I think this bar is cute. The patio is spacious and the decor is adorable. However, the service here is pretty terrible. The last two times I've been here I have apologized to guests thinking they would have a good experience. The last time I was there I tried to order a drink and a bartender simply told me "you came to the wrong bar". I went again on a Friday night at 8:30. Huge disappointment after reading the good reviews. Came on Thursday night. No waitresses working the tables. No drinks menus could be found anywhere. I eventually went to the bar to order drinks. The bartender could not give me a menu of their "famous" cocktails. I ordered a Jack Daniels on the rocks with a Coke back. The bartender tried to give me a lowball glass half filled with Coke with no ice as my back. I asked for a tall glass with ice and was given a skinny Tom Collins glass--how cheap can you get? The cigar case did not have prices or information clearly displayed, and when I asked for a price list the bartender said he couldn't help me, but there was "maybe somebody in back who can." Said person never materialized. In the bar, two drag queens were running some kind of bingo game that was loud and annoying. The back patio had plenty of people not drinking and not smoking cigars, so maybe if they had better servers they'd make more money. read more

From the outside you would never guess it looks as beautiful as it does. It's a complete transformation of space. The decor is super warm and inviting. I worked on the space and watched as it developed its personality. bar owners Ian and Ben have created a masterpiece of sorts. The layout and flow is great, bar space plentiful and a patio that leaves most central Phoenix Hot spots envious. I can tell you many many hours of careful planning went into the final design and also many many changes were made along the way to get what everyone sees today. Although I haven't had a cocktail or beer the offerings are extensive and craft beer taps Line the center wall of the 60ft long beautiful real wood bar. Hats off to these fellas you really raised the bar if you will and opened an establishment worth visiting over and over it adds yet another attractive element to the central Phoenix area.
