I've been watching this beauty come to life over the last few months and with much anticipation was able to check it out last night! The patio is large, with bags and lights- the inside reminds you if being in a cool prestigious old office. Amazing wood details, dim lighting, seating, long bar and piano to boot! I only tried one drink, but it was so good I had three more of the same. The smokin berries! I will say I'm not one for "smoke" infused anything (I like to smell not taste!) but this drink was delicious! The Smokey berry flavor made you feel like you were on a beach next to a bonfire, delicious! My friends had the Sazerac original and old fashioned. It was cool to watch the bar tenders craft the drink. Both of them were friendly and super informative. One of the perks sitting at the bar is seeing all the cool things they make and being able to ask questions! I am so excited this is open and look forward to going back! read more

It's hard to find bars that give Gin the respect that it deserves. This place is fantastic. The bartenders and staff are friendly and knowledgeable in the craft of cocktails. I knew it was going to be a great experience the moment we walked in. The door security was hilarious. Cracked a joke at the expense of the shirt I was wearing. Not making fun of me, making fun of how it was inapplicable to them. My shirt said "Work hard and be nice" We entered and the ambiance is dark wood and low light. Great for a cocktail bar. They also have a huge patio. We grabbed our cocktails. Bought a cigar from their humidor and headed outside to enjoy both by the fire pits. Friendly crowd. Great drinks. Sazerac has become one of our favorite places to go! We are there at least twice a week, they have been great at keeping and following CDC guidelines to keep people safe. Their service is always on point, drinks are great, and they got a toca truck on the patio! Plus, my partner likes to enjoy a nice cigar once in a while and their patio is the perfect place for it. Sazerac is one of my favorite places to go. I am glad it is still open during Covid. They do a great job with cleanliness and occupancy. I have to recommend the tacos and jalapeño poppers that they have from the food truck that they currently have in their patio. Jay, makes killer drinks and is my favorite bartender there. The Sazerac is an amazing little bar putting out craft cocktails with fun, lively music. I recommend asking the bartenders for recommendations and based on your proclivities, they'll help you select one of their beautiful creations. They have a large outdoor space as well as an indoor space so it's good for groups. Have a lot of interesting art on the walls in the hallway as well as in the bathroom. They have a DJ booth but there was no DJ at the time we were there, unfortunately. When we're in the Roosevelt arts district will definitely stop in back here. read more

Been to this bar a couple times and it's great when it's packed and great on a chill weeknight too!! We went in a Wednesday night and the live pianist was great! So lively and great tunes! Decent food. Place would have been a lot cooler if we could move our bodies however we wanted but we were told we weren't allowed to dance. However, people that were friends with the owner were allowed to dance and straight told us. "Rules for thee but not for me", welcome to the enforcement of communism right in our own backyards! If you don't want people dancing, don't play banging music. Funny enough, they played some lowkey jazz vibes at the end of the night to get people to leave and it made people want to stay. Maybe put those tunes on all night. But clearly it isn't about enforcing the rule, but it's about controlling newcomers to be in some sort of cheesy "compliance". read more

This is a really cool cocktail/cigar bar. Growing up as a Phoenix native, I always enjoy seeing owners come in and resurrect some of these old buildings. This one was designed with a 30's speakeasy vibe to it with a cool dim-lighted interior and an outdoor patio area. Inside is a beautiful long red oak bar and an old school black piano for live music. Outside is spacious and has a vacancy sign that came from Sheriff Joe's old tent city days. They serve craft cocktails and craft beer and have friendly helpful bartenders. My first visit here was a Mezcal tasting they were hosting after a showing of a Mezcal documentary over at Filmbar. Some popular drinks include Trade Secrets, Side Bar, Milli Vanilli and their house Sazerac. I ordered the Smokin' Berries to keep with the Mezcal theme and enjoyed the smoky liquor with the blackberries. This is a great place if you really want a relaxing evening with a nice cocktail and some live music. read more

Sazerac was a buried treasure for a long time for me, didnt realize this place was right across the street from me the whole time, the overall set up is so well done, the decor inside (even the bathrooms) is very unique.. the outside area is filled with outdoor games and hangout areas along with food stands ($1 tacos, yes sign me up). Love the vibe this place has and recommend to anyone going out with friends or a date night. My boyfriend just came out of the restroom, and the owner who appeared drunk started yelling at him to get out. We didn't even know that he was the owner (we were just visiting from LA) until the bouncer said that my boyfriend could not come back in because of the owner. I don't know if the owner confused him with another Asian guy. It doesn't matter. This behavior is incredibly unprofessional and should not be supported. This place is literally the best place in town for a classic and modern drink, beautiful inside decor and the patio is the best. They were smart and made a patio on the West Side of the property. They 2 lost stars bc literally it's probably one of the worst Karaoke Bars I've been too. It's gay owned, the karaoke host literally is a professional singer, the people who go sing there are out of their world, and what do you get? A shitty mic that is used for high school auditorium speeches. Can't hold a singing voice, especially ones that this place brings in. You can tell they show up for the host, but the company hasn't cared to invest into it. Apparently they have been notified several times by guests. It's truly unfortunate. Just discovered this place, it is the best! Started the night here for New year's Eve, hit up wilderness mainly for some food, then the flannel ball that was a total bust and then ended up back here, it was just simply the best! Every cocktail we have tried has been beautifully and perfectly crafted, seriously the best cocktails I've had. The bartenders have been friendly and helpful and clearly just enjoy their job and enjoy to talking to their customers. Way busier now then our first drinks here earlier in the night and they are busting it out with smiles and friendly talk and great service. They also have a great selection of beers on tap. Dirty Mike gave us an incredible recommendation for another bar that recently opened. This bar has a pretty good selection on bourbons that a lot of other bars don't offer. All 3 of the staff were attentive, humble, and able to custom fit the experience we were looking for. A pretty fun place with unique music, a nicer than usual interior, and decent pricing. It is very rare to find amazing customer service at a bar, but last night we did! The bartender, Michael is someone so passionate about his job, It shows in his work. Not only is his demeanor on point, he greets every person that passes by, acknowledges them and smiles the entire time. We also enjoyed the taco stand in the back patio area. Coming from LA it is very hard to find authentic Mexican food and this truly felt like we were back home. We will be spreading the word to everyone and coming back as regulars from here on out. Well, I must've because I left my credit card behind and the next day when I called the boys behind the bar had it safely in the register. I went to pick it up the next day. Only been open a short time, so TBD whether this is a chill place for a cocktail or a college-kid bar. If you are looking for the former, might want to get there earlier. I've been a fan of Chef Dominic Gonzales for many years. Watched and followed him as he took his first steps as a competitive BBQ pit master, then opened his first restaurant downtown, and now his best venture, Stackin Tacos! Chef Dom does all the classics. Carne Asada, Green chile chicken, fish tacos and the best slow roasted pork/pork belly tacos. But theres things you may not know about that just blow your mind away! First, and this was pretty special, Dom makes Quesadillas. Big deal you say? Yup is really was. He filled the Quesadillas with smoked lobster mac and cheese!!! Not always on his menu but follow him on social media and he'll tell you some of the specials ahead of time. How about a mountain of french toast with a crisp mimosa to start the day? Or one of my favorites is his smoked pulled pork, mac and cheese and mashed potatoe parfaits!! Oh HELL yeah! Give Stackin' Tacos a try. Dom is serving on the patio of Sazerac Bar downtown in Phoenix.
