He recommended the karaage chicken and I gotta say it is BOMB.COM. Since knowing about this place... maybe for a month now, we have gone 5 or 6 times already for the chicken. 5 stars for their addicting Chicken Karaage! This deep fried dish usually breaded with potato starch is plentiful per order and comes with rice (white or brown) and salad (or broccoli) per order. Around $11 *I went back 3 times back in less than 2 weeks when I first had it because it was so good lol! This place is a hidden gem and I was fortunate to have been recommended this place. Although I did takeout, you tell there's a mom and pop shop atmosphere here with super courteous service. The way they do things here really reminds me of street food with generous portions of meat thrown over rice, which I'm a sucker for always. I really want to be selfish and keep this place to myself, but it deserves your business 100%. The chicken karaage is the best I've honestly had around. Giant chunks, no dryness, a perfectly crispy batter and a spicy/tangy soy dipping sauce...it really doesn't get any better. The gai yang chicken was tender and the yellow curry flavor was just right and keeps you coming back for more. If you love Thai style BBQ pork, order the moo yang which was really tender, plentiful and pairs really well with their soy sauce too. This place have been on list forever and we finally had a chance to check it out. I originally was going to call to do takeout, but realize that they have dine in so we decided to head there instead. Firstly, the girl who took our orders were super nice and super sociable. Not only was she able to accomodate our orders but she was talking to us like we are familiars. It was very nice. We got a customized bento: kaarage chicken, gai yan chicken, moo yan pork, and katsu chicken. This also came with a side of rice and salad. They messed up this order a little and gave us teriyaki chicken instead of kaarage, so they gave us a side of karaage as well. The bento box was humongous! Everything was delicious. However, my favorite was definitely the kaarage and the gai yan. The karaage was humongous and tender and juicy. It was perfectly cooked. It could use a little more seasoning but not a big deal. The skin on the gai yan was super crispy but the meat was like teriyaki. The other meats was super good too but those were my favorite. WE also got the spicy pork katsu dish with brocolli instead of rice. This dish was ok, i kinda wish it wasn't smothered in the sauce because the crispiness of the katsu was gone and the sauce was like typical stir fry kinda sauce. Overall though, we had a lot of food and it was only $30. We were definitely hungry from our exercise this morning but if it was a normal day, we definitely be full from just the bento box. Since then I've dined here quite a few times and its quickly become my go-to spot for whenever I get cravings for reliable, comfortable Asian food. Appearance-wise, the place is nothing extraordinary, but is pretty clean, tidy, and comfortable. Aside from the food, the big highlight is the staff/service, who are always quick, diligent, and kind; this gives the overall restaurant a warm and welcoming feel. As likely mentioned by many others now, the karaage is amazing, and very much gives you a bang for your buck. Aside from that, their noodle dishes are always hot and flavorful, and they provide chili oil/sate if you ever want more spice. Saya has the most inauthentic Thai food I've ever had in my life. The server even admitted, when asked, to knowing what ingredients are supposed to be used, but that they don't use them. I ordered panang curry. First of all, panang curry should be very red in color from the Thai chili peppers, and this was a pale yellow. It should also be thick and rich. This curry was as thin as soup and served in a soup bowl with a miso spoon. There was very little curry flavor to it at all, and mostly just a very mild coconut flavor. It was NOT made with authentic Thai ingredients like kaffir lime leaves, galangal, lemon grass, fish sauce, or shrimp paste. It had red and green bell peppers and white onions as the only vegetables, along with some mushrooms. I asked them to add eggplant and they used American eggplant instead of Thai eggplant. The beef looked and tasted like pork. I ordered it with 5 stars and it had hardly any spice at all. It was more like 1 star, if that, with very little visible chili pepper (5 stars would have lots of visible chili pepper). Tabasco sauce would have even been hotter than this was. It's not a good sign when you see that they have Sriracha and other spices out on a table for you to add. That typically means they are skimping out on the spice level. If you've never had Thai food before, you might like this, as it doesn't taste offensive, but it is very bland and lacking authentic Thai flavors and ingredients. If you like spicy, you will be sorely disappointed, as their 5 stars has barely any detectable heat (They go up to 4 stars, but I asked for 5 and they said they could do it). The nicest thing I can say about it is that it's a generously large portion for the price. I would highly recommend going to Dao Thai Street Food in Kent instead, where the ingredients are authentic, the spice level is hot, and you can even find some rarer Thai dishes, such as Khao Soi, that are difficult to find outside of Thailand. Ting Tong Thai Cafe and Grandma Thai Cuisine are decent as well, but Dao Thai Street Food is, by far, the best and most authentic Thai food I've had in Kent. read more

Family owned and operated, this place is a local favorite. Reasonable prices and hefty portions. Japanese and Thai inspired dishes fill the menu, and each item is pretty good. The most popular menu item has to be the Karaage Chicken. Definitely not traditional, but so very good. Breaded and fried, and served with a delicious dipping sauce. The Gaiyang, Katsudon, Salmon Teriyaki, Chicken Katsu, Yakisoba, and the list goes on and on. If you're in the Renton/Kent area, stop by and give them a try. I'm in need of a good Thai restaurant in Kent near my house, and this place popped up on my search. Read a lot of good reviews, so I have to give it a try. And oh boy, am I glad to have found this hidden gem. Placed my order on my way home from work, got there about 10 minutes later and the food was being packed. I ordered that famous chicken karaage, and chicken pad thai. Both were delicious, my only thing was that I wish the pad thai has a bit more sauce to it. The chicken karaage was moist and crispy, cooked to perfection. They use boneless skinless chicken thighs which was different, but in a good way. Okay, so WOW! After a hotly contested Facebook post about the best fried chicken, a friend recommended I check out the Chicken Karage at Saya in Kent. Turns out, I live a couple miles down the road and my takeout order was said to be ready in about 10 mins. From the moment I called, everyone I encountered was exceptionally pleasant. I had a hard time pronouncing "karaage" on the phone, so we laughed it off and I just went with "Japanese Fried Chicken" to cut the awkwardness. Their entree is only $10 and comes with a heaping side of white rice (unlike those little 2 oz containers with 25 grains of rice inside). I can't put a finger on what the sauce on the side was, but it tasted like a shoyu base with a little vinegar & chili. It was bomb & if I were you, I'd order another. Okay - so the chicken... crispy, juicy & surprisingly flavorful! I legit wasn't expecting how crunchy this chicken was going to be, but if I did mukbang videos, chicken karaage would be my first meal.
