Mango Lemonade
Emmie H.

Outstanding experience - some of the best Thai food I've had. Was visiting my grandparents who live near by and my grandpa loves Thai so we thought we'd take him out and this place has some of the strongest reviews in the area and it did not disappoint. Had the green bean chicken and fresh rolls and mango lemonade. What I wasn't expecting was fresh mango in the lemonade - so pleasing and not overly sweet. Chicken and fresh rolls were clearly made on the spot and came out as they were ready so they were so hot. Nice indoor that's kept clean with great food and kind service. Will absolutely come back!

Came back and ate at the restaurant with my hubby instead of doing take out and service is great they get super busy with take out orders but the ambiance is great and food was so good. The fried rice was our favorite. Duck was okay wasn't as crispy as we wanted and eggplant could have been cooked a little longer but the seasoning was on point. We will come back again!

Crispy Garlic Chicken
Ron H.

Ordered the Crispy Garlic Chicken and my only complaint was rice wasn't included with the meal. The taste was exactly what the menu stated, crispy. Had a very crispy crunch with nicely touch of garlic sauce. I thought about ordering a second helping of it but decided not too. Service was excellent and felt very welcomed to be there. Will come back and enjoy some other dishes they offer.

Little hole-in-the-wall restaurant with excellent food. We ordered spice level 2 and it had some zing. Tom Kha Gai was the best I've had.

Have had this place on my list for a while! Got here about 1-1.5 hours before closing on a friday…read moreand there was plenty of seating (about 3-4 tables inside). Service was very friendly and attentive. Ordered the combo plate and skewers to split with 3 people and there was enough food. The skewers were def my fav with such a good flavor and very soft. The pickled cabbage was a nice balance. The combo plate was yummy as well to try all the different meats. There was a stuffed chicken and a coconut chicken and both were very juicy and flavorful If I'm ever down in fed way I would def come back.

Theary Cambodian Foods is a small family-owned Cambodian restaurant in Federal Way. The storefront…read moreis located across the street from The Commons Mall. It's also located in a plaza with other businesses with a shared parking lot. The restaurant itself is pretty small. At most, you can probably seat a total of 14 people. I would not recommend coming with a large group of people. Keep it four people at max or take your order to go. Not sure if this is typical practice for this restaurant, but we ordered and paid for our food first at the register before claiming a table. I mention this because there was only one person working. He was cleaning the tables, taking orders at the register, cooking, fulfilling to go and dine in orders, and bringing the food out for the dine in people. He was very apologetic with the delay on the food, but all the customers, including us, did not mind waiting and understood the circumstances. My boyfriend ordered the Combination Plate, which consists one of the boneless stuffed jumbo wing, one of the coconut quarter chicken, two of the kroeung meatballs, and steamed banana leaf sticky rice topped with chopped fresh herbs, fried garlic and a side of pickled vegetables. I ordered the beef skewers with rice, vegetables pickle and spicy sauce. My sister ordered the beef with tirk prohouk (Khmer spicy fermented fish dipping sauce) served with toast crispy rice and topped with fried garlic, fresh herbs and vegetables. The food was amazing! It was definitely made with love and care. We would definitely recommend coming if you have never had Cambodian food before!

The space is very cozy and reflects with the amount of parking options. I grabbed the food to go but live nearby and the food maintained its freshness along with its crispiness. I ordered The Combo Hainanese Chicken Rice which contained both the Steamed and Fried Chicken. Both chickens were cut nicely and I liked that the fried chicken was not overly breaded to maintain the balance. The rice tasted as expected with the slight hits of umami. The dipping sauce was nice and I left no leftovers. The broth was extremely bland and felt watered down and had a strange taste to it. Overall, would come back again when craving this dish but may stick to ordering to go due to the limited parking.

We ordered the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen, Spicy Negi Ramen (level 4 hot), an order of Gyoza, and an appetizer order of Karaage Chicken. Both of our Ramen bowls were absolutely delicious!! I'm used to eating very authentic Ramen when I lived in San Diego so this was a first for being in this area. It was a great portion size, beautiful presentation and everything tasted so good. I think the egg could've been cooked a little bit less so it would be not so well done so to speak, but it was delicious still. Also, the chicken appetizer was a good, but not as flavorful as some Karaage Chicken I have had. I probably wouldn't order that one again even though it was good, just lacked flavor and was a bit grisly. The service was outstanding. They are very kind and very attentive. The place is very clean. The bathrooms are nicely stocked and very clean as well. The lobby is beautiful and we will definitely be back!

The ramen tasted great but not impressive or memorable enough for me to drive all the way back to Federal Way. I dined in solo and actually didn't finish the ramen or even remember exactly what I ordered. I'm guessing it's the spicy negi. The broth was spicy and enjoyable but definitely didn't taste any different compared to other ramen places I've been to. I tend to eat slow to savor my food, but I felt like the staff was overattentive and frequently stopped by my table to ask if everything was okay. Gave me the vibe that they needed to keep themselves busy or I was taking up a table. Might be great for other customers but it affected my experience with dining in; I usually finish my meals at restaurants but I felt rushed so I just ended up bringing the ramen home for my son, after the second or third time of them asking me if I wanted a takeout box. I'm still giving 4 stars just because the ramen tasted better than mediocre, less than spectacular. I just have high expectations for ramen and prefer more broth/topping variety (I was raised in Cali with options i dearly miss). Plus, I do like that they added a full egg for the ramen (instead of half an egg, like other restaurants I've been to) and the chasu portions were fair. I haven't tried any other ramen places in Federal Way (if there are any), but I guess if this is one of the better options (according to Yelp), it might be worth a shot to try out?
