Saap Fusion was a place Steve and I went to a few weekends ago and we were thrilled with our dining experience there. We had another stop to make in Auburn and figured we wanted a bite to eat and this place showed up in my bookmarks. They have some Laotian food here which isn't the easiest to find. They had the Laotian Sausages which I had once before and these were delicious. Perfectly spiced and juicy. This dish didn't stick around long. Also we had a mushroom appetizer that we really liked as well. For our main course we had Avocado Rice which along with everything else we had was fantastic. Very abundant in flavor and fresh in preparation. I have to give Saap Fusion five stars all the way. There were lots of other enticing dishes as well we saw on the menu so a return trip certainly should be in order. read more

The hubby looked this place up and today was the day we tried it. Parking lot was great, lots of room and easy access. Their sign is only on the door so you really have to look for it. We entered the place and it was small and quaint. Not fancy. One of those hole in the wall spots that tends to have great food. We ordered papaya salad (dark) made with shrimp and crab paste. I liked it, just know it's a strong pungent seafood smell. We also ordered the Thai green tea and reg Thai iced tea. Both delicious!! For more of our order, we got the angel wings which is deboned chicken wing flat, stuffed with pork, wood ear mushroom and glass noodles. Wow!! Really good!! Then our entrees were the Lao pork belly sisig and the roasted pork belly and avocado fried rice. Now I'm picky when it comes to fried rice. This avocado fried rice was AMAZING. So perfectly fried and seasoned. We got shrimp in it and as you can see in the photos, they don't skimp. Mind you, we waited an hour for all of this but the flavors or the food were worth the wait. If you are looking to try it, I suggest ordering online and then heading out to pick up. They offer Jamaican food a couple days a week. There looks to only be one cook and one server. Our server was so kind and great at answering questions. She was so genuine. The restroom was not the cleanest and the place altogether, looked a bit older and run down but the quality of food makes up for it. The serve everything in TO-GO containers and you eat from paper plates and plastic silverware. Everything is disposable. I know it probably helps with the clean up since they are short staffed. It would be nice if it was served on actual dishes and serving utensils. I would definitely return for online orders as dine-in is quite the wait. The place is SO good it's a problem for me! I just love love love their wings... and ribs... and rice... and teriyaki...! The food is so fresh. The flavors are like a concert in your mouth. I'm having FOMO from all of these great reviews because we did not have those same experiences. I wish we could write about how delicious and amazing the food was, but we never got the chance to taste the food to even write a sentence about that. We ordered a couple of main dishes, side dishes and an appetizer (party of four) and waited for over an hour. My party had been so immersed in our conversation that we didn't notice how much time had passed. We got our one appetizer (crab Rangoon) and that was it. The server never came back to check on us, never came back to let us know that the food was taking longer than usual, nothing. We finally realized that we had been waiting too long when there was a line of online and call-in orders forming in the room. The server began helping everyone else and still never came back to let us know what was going on or to even apologize for the wait. Luckily we have the exact cash amount of the appetizer and left it on the table before leaving. We will never be back. read more

I'd give it a 5 stars only if we didn't wait for too long. Our food took awhile to come out and having boys that are constantly hungry didn't help So it tested their patience. We stopped by this place for lunch on our way from exploring Tacoma and Puyallup and it was a great find --- definitely a hole in the wall. There was a couple of things off the bat that needs improvement: the sign says closed even though they are open so they definitely need to keep that updated each day, the place says it doesn't offer dine in and only take out or delivery, but you can do dine in. It's a weird layout but you can still dine in The owner guy is super nice, he is very friendly and loves to talk :) his hospitality is definitely a 5 star. He gave us complimentary egg rolls because our food was taking a bit of time Food: Blackened pepper beef (bo LUC lac) --- pretty good, if you are a meat eater this dish is for you, no carbs and meat is tender and juicy. Nam kao tod --- flavor is strong and rice is good but I do wish that the rice was crispier. Love that he was generous with the veggies too. Egg rolls -- these are pretty basic but was really good. I'm usually not a fan of egg rolls at restaurants because they are pretty skimpy or it's too heavy/greasy but this one felt delicious. Portion is ginormous!!!!! So come hungry. This shop is hit or miss on availability. I guess I was spoiled the first time coming in. So far I've tried; Larb: I get cooked minced beef with tripe/bile added and the Somtham: Dark style extra funky. I ran into the owner of Oragon Sili Oil who was working in the kitchen that day. I like the food here as an option to get this kind of food when I'm too lazy to cook. I brought my mom the last time I was in the area and she really liked the food too. Was in search of some papaya salad and found this place. The fried tofu was crispy yet juicy on the inside. Had a citrus-like taste (no idea what it was but it was good. I had asked for the papaya to be spice level 5 and while it was not spicy (to my standards at least), it was still delicious nonetheless. Had this umami flavor that I can't really describe. This is a small new restaurant in Auburn that deserves all the love and support it can get. Chef and owner, Khiet, as a passion for the food that he makes. He makes food the way he would like to eat it, not necessarily in the way that makes the most profit. Portions are as good as you'll ever find anywhere. The flavors are always strong and delicious. There's not a bland dish on the menu. Is Asian wings are not to be trifled with they are amazing. Highly recommend the Lao Jeow Som And the Vietnamese garlic fish sauce flavors You will not find better Lao pork sausage anywhere. And the quality and cook of the beef and the Lok lak salad and Yum nua is something you have to experience for yourself. He makes many of his own sauces, and his papaya salad sauce dressing is rather famous as he sells it all over the west coast. The pork larb /laap salad is a flavor bomb. And so is the nam kao crispy rice salad. The vegetables and herbs are always so fresh and so flavorful you won't want to eat anywhere else when you have a hankering for Southeast Asian food . First off, the service was really good and professional. We were attended constantly, which I like from customer service because they don't make you feel ignored. As far as how the place looked, it looked very clean and the owner does his best to make sure the restaurant is clean as quickly as possible. So food-wise, the Lao Style Papaya Salad is fantastic and something I would get as often as I could! The Pad Thai and Lao Pork Sausage on the other hand was very poorly made unfortunately. The Pad Thai looked good at first also, but upon eating it, the noodles are VERY mushy and it tastes like as if it was made months ago. The Lao Pork Sausage tastes decent but the meat was so soft, like as if it was not cooked all the way. Lastly, the Tom Yum (Thai Hot and Sour Soup), it is not good because it tastes like regular soup without the sweet and sour. Food portions are huge and great way to eat with a family and friends. As a person who is married into a Laotian family, I was very happy that I found a Laotian restaurant because there's not many Laotian restaurants out there but was very sad how the food turned out in the end. A small family own business that I would love to see thrive and be a staple for the Soutb King county community. It is a great fusion idea and is nice to be able to find mixed cuisines in one spot. Pros: Inside: if you're looking for a formal place with aesthetic designs, this isn't the place however the place has cute SE Asian decor and paintings and most importantly the dine in area and bathroom were clean. Service: The waitress was trying her best, she was running the front end well by herself. My only suggestion is be upfront about wait times. Food: Food was good and I'd probably give them another try by ordering ahead and picking up my order. I didn't care for the Halo halo which is what I initially came for. It didn't look like the pictures and had mini marshmallows on top. Cons: WAIT TIME: As other reviewers mentioned the wait time was long. I was told 20-30 min for take out and actually ended up waiting 70 min which is hard to do since I had my 4 kids with me. Other dine in orders cancelled parts of their orders because of the wait. MISSING ITEMS: I was just missing rice, which isn't a big deal since we were going home but more of an inconvenience because I was being lazy and had to make rice. After a long day exploring a town two hours out, we decided to stop here for Lao food since our usual spot was closed. We arrived around 7 PM on a Sunday, and noticed a large party had come in just before us, so we were fine with waiting. The young waitress took my large order; she was friendly but seemed unfamiliar with the menu, likely there to assist her aunt with the orders at this small mom-and-pop shop. When I saw her serve shrimp chips to the large group, I asked if she could do the same for my kids waiting in the car. She kindly obliged. Our shrimp chips arrived in about 20 minutes, which was acceptable since they were complimentary. However, that 20 minutes turned into 50 without any updates from the waitress. When I finally inquired about our order, she informed me it would take another 20-25 minutes because they were backed up. During that time, several other customers waiting for pick-up orders were also present. While I didn't mind the wait initially, I ultimately felt compelled to cancel my order due to noticing customers from the large party being allowed into the kitchen to help prepare food. I understand this is common in Southeast Asian families, but it's not appropriate in a restaurant setting. When I asked to cancel, I expressed to the owner/chef that allowing non-employees in the kitchen was a concern. Initially, he tried to explain that they were just helping with their own food, but I reiterated that it was a sanitation issue. He seemed nice but clearly didn't grasp food safety standards. I felt bad for him as I was canceling. He mentioned this had happened before--though I wasn't sure if he meant the delays or allowing customers in the kitchen. After reading other reviews, it seems being overwhelmed is a recurring problem for them. My advice would be: First, do not accept Uber or DoorDash orders until you have a reliable system in place. Second, train your staff on the menu and keep customers informed about wait times. Third, but definitely not least important, absolutely do not allow non-employees in the kitchen. I genuinely wanted to like this place, and based on the reviews, it sounds like they serve pretty awesome food. This place popped up and it looked like such a unique food option to what is offered in this area and I was very excited to try all the options. I ordered a stuffed chicken wing, larb, and one other dish I wasn't quite familiar with. I ordered this for pickup, so I can't speak much to ambiance. But there was plenty of parking so I can't complain. Service was not quick, I had already read other reviews so I knew the estimated pick up time wasn't going to be accurate and that is okay! It's freshly cooked food from what I can gather, which takes time. But I will say even after leaving home after some time I still waited at the restaurant for some time for my order. The larb was different than I've had, larb is one of my favorite dishes at one specific restaurant, so I knew ordering it may not suit my specific interest. I did think it tasted fresh and refreshing, but a tad bit salty. The stuffed chicken wing was the star of this order and was really good. The last dish was the naçam khao. This dish I was not familiar with, but I do feel it was slightly off from what was described. The coconut was there, the deep fried rice I wasn't sure if it was actually in there ( I was expecting like crispy rice) but there wasn't really anything crispy in this dish. I also don't think there was meat in this dish? There was this interesting white almost tripe looking addition that I had no idea what it was, it didn't seem to taste like anything specific, but was more texture than anything. I also thought the rice was supposed to be like little croquettes or something. This dish I was not very into, had a fresh taste to it, but again on the saltier side for me. Overall it was nice to try a new place, but these didn't taste like what I've enjoyed in the past, which isn't a bad thing food taste different all over the world. I would have to say that they really value their customers concerns and tries to rectify any issues as best as they can. Then after a few minutes he comes back out to tell us again they don't have crab fried rice, then we had to change order to shrimp fried rice. When the main dishes came out, didn't bring us any utensils or napkins. While waiting, we were witness of numerous customers who were seated, waited and walked out. Owners having to refund others for waiting or didn't get what they order. People who ordered online and upset with the extremely inaccurate wait time. Finally after a hour, the staff started to tell customers it was an hour wait for food. Granted the owner shared with us after we've already waited 45 minutes "we're slammed and backed up on orders" That's a little too late..and we had prepaid the order online. Lastly: When we were done eating, we wanted to confirmed that we prepaid. Since the lady owner said she would discount our bill 50% off during our now 75 minute wait. We did not ask or request for any discounts during the whole experience. We didn't want to be charged again for 50%. She had no idea what we talking about. We'll see if they honor what they said. To note: They gave us 2 free Thai ice teas for waiting. There were only 4 tables, which seats 4 people each, large table that would seat 8. There were only 7-9 people total actually eating. Rest were to go. After 45 minutes to tell us they were down 1 staff member. FYI: In the future you should let customers know right away how slammed you are and the wait time for food. So I looked this place up on Yelp and saw the reviews, they were mostly good. So I took a chance and it didn't pay off. I placed the online order and they said 20 min. It took me 25 min to get there and I had to wait another 20 min. I ordered the drunken noodles with beef and chicken and the lumpia. The noodles were flavorful but not enough meat, too many noodles. The lumpia was ok. The establishment is not in a good location. You had a homeless person sleeping right outside. The inside of this place looks like it's under construction, not a good look.
