Had a quick lunch before leaving Ashland. Great Thai food plus they have Sushi! Service was very good and the owners are great.

Calamari...couldn't wait for photo before we dug in.

This place is AWESOME. Great food, clean environment, great service, and the staff (we love the owner-so wonderful) are awesome!

J-Pops were great with a kick!

I have been waiting for this place to open and now that it is I am stoked. I've been following this restaurateur for years and am so happy to see he and his wife opening their own establishment. The restaurant is clean and organized with a friendly staff. In addition to their Thai offerings, they also have a small sushi case. I tried the Drunken Noodles, Yellow Curry, Salt & Pepper Calamari and the J-Pops. Everything came out hot and tasty. My favorite on this day was the calamari. It had a great smoky pan char (not bitter) to the taste that was fantastic. In my opinion, I would consider this place perfect for lunch, but a bit too casual for a formal dinner. I wish the owners success. Truth...

Basil Tofu, always my go to. It's delicious

Our fave Thai restaurant in Ashland. Always get the Basil Tofu and drunken noodle. The staff is very friendly and just have the best vibes here. Always recommend to our friends and family!!

Stumbled upon Kobe as a restaurant recommendation from the front desk as I checked in to my hotel…read more Without a doubt Ashland always seems to impress me with their restaurant/food scene. My co-workers and I were in town for work and were thoroughly impress at how fresh their sushi tasted. For starters, we had their lobster tempura, yellowtail carpaccio, Sunshine roll. and edamame. I probably would have preferred their regular tempura, but their yellowtail carpaccio was delicious. Another standout was their sunshine roll. For main entree, we each ordered a sashimi/nigiri set. Their selection of nigiri fishes were standard but good. As for dessert, we had shared their creme brulee which was perfect to end our meal.

In the rolls, the chef had an ability to pair ingredients that emphasized texture, all the while working in excellent flavors. The darru and surf and turf rolls were a highlight. The sea urchin roll was out-of-this-world, like a bite of delicious ocean. Starting with the wagyu sliders was a great contrast to the cold sushi dishes. Fatty beef, seared, with salty seasoning and pickles. Excellent! The service was struggling the night we went. They held us up at the bar 20 minutes past our reservation time. They only seated us because we gave up on waiting for an outdoor table. It then took 20 minutes to meet the server and order, and another 45 minutes to start eating. Ultimately the food exceeded the flaccid service. I will be back, but not on a night when I'm in a hurry.

All you care about are intense, rich flavors drawn out of the pork bones with a jab of salty/umami greatness right in the jaw. This place didn't make the cut. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with pork. The noodles were good and the slice of pork was tasty, albeit briefly (small portion). The broth unfortunately was watery, bland, generically creamy, and not well-seasoned. The menu had plenty of Korean options. The galbi appetizer was the highlight of the meal. The seared rib meat was deliciously caramelized, gingery, and hot, right off the grill. Overall I am not excited to go back because, like I said, if you want to be a hole in the wall, the food needs to be a slam dunk. I'm appreciative to have this option locally, but it didn't knock my socks off.

The pork ramen could've had a few more pieces of pork in there (there was only two pieces), but the broth was amazing. The Spicy Pork Rice Bowl was BIG, great serving size and flavor! The gyoza were very good, and the korean style chicken was amazing as well! Great, quick service and friendly.

Is it because your flavors are so off, you cannot make anything tasteful? To further complicate the issue I went to the management staff and let them know. I'm having an allergic reaction to your fried chicken and your cream seafood chowder, why the hell are peppers in these products they're not listed in the menu, I let you know about my food allergy and you still serve me these foods . Your response was oh my God so sorry we have no control over what Chef Franco does. Chef Franco if you have any sort of decency, please list Chili's in your ingredients. Or find another way to find flavors... Just saying..... My waitress was not able to comprehend or understand the specials or the aspects of the food.... I really hope they can improve this. This used to be a landmark restaurant, but sadly becoming a no Marc restaurant.....
