This upscale yet charmingly old-fashioned restaurant exceeded our expectations. We made reservations for a Wednesday evening and were seated immediately, which was a pleasant start. The bar area, complete with high-top tables, was an unexpected but lovely feature. Our party of seven began with the calamari appetizer and meatballs, both of which were delicious. For our entrées, we enjoyed the special seafood fettuccine, penne, and several perfectly cooked filet mignons. Desserts were equally delightful, with tiramisu, assorted ice creams, tartufo and sorbets rounding out the meal. Our server, Stephanie, provided decent service throughout the evening. she was just OK. Didn't really check in to see if we were OK but we assumed she was busy. Although there's no designated kids' menu, our children were more than satisfied sharing entrees and enjoying a few side dishes. The wine selection was solid, and valet parking added a nice touch of convenience. We'll definitely be returning for another wonderful evening here!

we have this place a try last night. We were served Italian bread which was fresh. Inside is decorated like a traditional higher end Italian restaurant. Service was good and the waitress was attentive to our child's allergy. The only short coming was there is no cocktail menu so you kind of have to know what you want.

Had a wonderful time celebrating my husband's birthday here! They printed a custom menu specially for his birthday which is such a nice touch. My husband and I came here a few years ago and he always says how he had the best filet mignon ever here and after many other attempts to find one better I gave up and brought him back where he confirmed it's still the best steak he's ever had. I tried monk fish which is delicious and it had a nice sauce with it. We also got some dessert and a glass of red wine and an espresso martini for him! Such a great place for a date night and we will be back!

Good food and ambience a bit pricey. I like sitting at the bar, however it's not easy to get a sit there.

I would give it 5 stars. Our waitress Swe, was delightful, kind, happy, described the dishes, gave suggestions, she is what you would expect from a waitress. Even the food runners were excellent, smiled and said hello when they approached the table. The service was definitely 5 star. The Food, presentation was excellent. The flavors, just weren't there. We started with these beautiful onion rings which were house made. Big, beautiful and fried to a crisp golden perfection, yet taste, there was none. absolutely nothing. the most boring onion ring ever. Then the wedge salad, chopped and soggy. If your going to reinvent a classic salad, it better be good. I had the seared yellow fin tuna, again what happen to the flavor. it had a carrot ginger puree, that was more for color than flavor. the best part was the arugula pickled onions and tomatoes that came on the plate. My dinner partner had 16 oz prime dry age rib eye, which he did not enjoy. I am not a meat eater but tastes it and was not impressed. this steak was so thin. they took 16oz and spread it across the entire plate, taking away the true essences of a steak. I was pretty disappointed in the food but the cocktails were very good as well as their wine-selection. I beautiful place with great staff, which i would go back maybe just for happy hour. One other disappointment is with being such an nice steakhouse and all of the staff dressed and all so professional why isn't there any type os dressed code. Why are they allowing people to dine in sweatpants and messy t shirts. They should have a requirement. most diners were dressed so nice but allowing sweat pants. my two star rating is based solely on the flavor of the food.

We stopped in mid-week for a family dinner after work and even on a Wednesday the place was buzzing. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, which makes for a cozy atmosphere but also means tables are very close together. If you can, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The menu is somewhat minimal, but the food overall was good. I eat gluten-free and noticed the options were a bit limited, which made ordering slightly challenging. I ended up going with the sea scallops. They were nicely cooked, but the portion was smaller than I expected--five small scallops with some vegetables. For the price, I do wish the portion had been a bit more generous. I have to admit I left still a little hungry. My dad ordered the short rib grilled cheese and really enjoyed it. That was probably the standout dish at our table. My sister ordered the honey bourbon chicken and said it was okay, but afterward she mentioned she probably should have gone with the short rib grilled cheese instead. One surprise of the night was live music on a Wednesday. I usually enjoy live music, but since we were hoping to catch up as a family it made conversation a little difficult. The music was fairly loud for such a small space. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They also have a rewards program, which worked out nicely--my dad received a complimentary dessert for his birthday. I ordered the crème brûlée, which was a great way to end the meal. A couple practical tips: parking in Ridgewood can be tricky. The restaurant advertises valet parking, though we didn't use or see it during our visit. If you find street parking, make sure to feed the meter because the town is known for giving out tickets. In warmer months they do offer some outdoor sidewalk seating, though it looks fairly limited. It also appears they have a happy hour, though we didn't arrive in time to try it. Overall, I'd recommend checking out Steel Wheel Tavern--just be mindful of the timing of your visit, especially if you're hoping for a quieter dinner.

Currently the decor isn't great but the friendly owner Raj said he would be updating the place over the next few months. Our waiter was new but he was very friendly and provided helpful recommendations. The menu is already large and Raj mentioned that they're looking to add southern Indian dishes to their current northern Indian focus. We had boneless wings, mutton, samosas, and another chicken appetizer. All of the starters were excellent, perfect mild to medium spice level. Our entrees included lamb, mutton biryani, and a chickpea dish. The biryani was a ton of food and the chickpea texture was awesome. We also had butter naan and I added a tasty mango lassi. Apparently they do a solid bar crowd on weekend nights. I would certainly return to try more dishes. Definitely a solid restaurant.

The wine is sold in half or whole bottles (not glasses), so I opted out this time. The menu is a mix of traditional Spanish tapas as well as American and Latin American mixed in. Our original Resy was canceled due to a change in business hours, so we were offered a complimentary dessert. We tried the cheesesteak empanadas, croquettes, bbq pulled pork arepa, garlic shrimp, octopus, short rib gnocchi and finished with tres leches cake. My favorites were the octopus, shrimp, gnocchi, empanada, and tres leches cake. Croquettes were the least favorite, just not exciting, and they were kind of smashed. The octopus was very tender and enjoyed the sauce and sundried tomatoes that came with it. Everything came out at the right temperature and at a good pace to not overwhelm the table with dishes. The restaurant is dimly lit. I found the booth backs to be very hard and uncomfortable - could use an upgrade. Prices per dish are high for the size, but to be expected with tapas in the states. The food is still great. We had scallops, chorizo, brussels sprouts, and a flounder ceviche special. Everything was delicious. The ceviche in particular stood out -- fresh, well-portioned, and nicely "cooked" in lime juice. The sangria is still a highlight too. A big carafe, no ice watering it down, served with glasses full of fruit. The problem is the service. They had two servers and one bus person, and it showed. Everyone seemed to be scrambling, and it was hard to get a moment of attention to ask for anything or even be heard. Our food came out in pieces -- three items, then a long delay, then another. The last dish, calamari, never came. When I tried to tell the waiter we didn't want it anymore if it was forgotten, he didn't listen and insisted on bringing it anyway. We ended up waiting even longer, which just made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, they're now adding an operating/service fee (around 3-4%), which wasn't clearly communicated and just showed up on the bill. It's disappointing because the food is still very good, but the service issues -- and now the added fees -- are taking away from the experience. After this visit, we'll think twice before coming back.
