We also talked about the cracks in the sidewalk and I expect them to be fixed. So far, looking good. 11MAR2019 Having a large (36-inch caliper) old tree removed today. Good. This morning's setup was very professional and very safety conscious. The quote we received was reasonable. These guys are very good. Smooth and efficient. Doing an excellent cleanup job. More than likely sold me contaminated mulch that has put all my expensive xeriscaping in danger--and I have enormous lots and an expensive house when incredibly expensive landscaping design. This aggressive weed will never be gone. It's already spread to both neighbors. In less than three weeks since the mulch was laid, my yards are infested. I spend every night trying to carefully spray every weed without destroying the expensive plants and trees I have--and these things are small and hard to hit without hitting a real plant. I didn't even know what it was at first, but I took pictures the day the yard was done on May 22th because it was so beautiful. I took pictures on June 9th of the horror. Days ago, I called the company to complain. Some guy from the company talked glibly like I was a stupid female. They weren't responsible, but he did say that, you know, these are trees and trees have seeds so...I told him that I had never heard any warnings from people that mulch could infest and destroy your property. He ignored that. He changed his story that seeds just end up in mulch when he got here and saw the damage. Before he even looked, he said there was no way this stuff came from them. But the thing is, I already knew before he showed up that he knew nothing. It was just apparent on the phone. Earlier in the day, I went to a garden center with the weed. The man said it was this certain type of tree. He wrote it down for me. So when the guy got here, I showed it to him. Without a pause, he immediately said it wasn't that tree. Then he picked up a few pieces and started pointing at the leaves and saying, "See? These aren't even the same trees!" As if that proved anything. On the website, it says there are different trees used in the same type of mulch. It didn't matter. Then he went on a continuous lying spree about how there were really five types of trees growing in my yard--although he hadn't looked. He didn't know if they were weeds or trees. He wouldn't/couldn't tell me what kind of trees they were, despite the fact that I asked. He didn't even know the names of the two enormous 60-year-old trees in my yard. He lied and said that these tree pods had just flow in from my neighbors' yards, despite the facts that it had never happened in nine years, none of my neighbors had this happen, the sheer number of these things--way over a thousand in the front yard alone--had all happened at once, and I had JUST had their mulch laid. He also told me condescendingly that if my mulch were contaminated, wouldn't everyone else be calling to? Of course, how would I know if other people were calling? He went into this lengthy diatribe about their careful screening process. What I didn't know then but found out Saturday day was that my tenant found a big piece of a screw driver in the mulch when he was spreading it. So much for careful screening. Luckily, I still have the screwdriver. He never said they might be weeds. He just went with what the lawn center guy said. Turns out he mistook the plant too. It's a weed, not a tree, and it's only one kind. I found out because I went to one of the best nurseries in the city yesterday. Their experts told me what it was. They said it was noxious and I wouldn't get rid of it. They sold me huge amounts of poison and the better applicator. He shouted me down--I am not kidding--when I asked questions. He wouldn't answer questions that he couldn't. He got angrier by the minute. He would not let me talk. I kept asking him to stop interrupting me. He told me no and kept going, talking louder each time. I asked him why, and he said "because you don't believe me!" It went on and on. Interrupting the female customer constantly is awesome and reputable customer service. His reasoning for everything made no sense. He combed my neighbors' lawns and pointed out how they had a 12 by 12 inch patch of something "suspicious" and "contaminated" in a big lawn, as if that proved anything about my yards' total infestation. He knew nothing about anything. The company sent him out to intimidate me and shut me up. My property will never be the same, and I will have to try to contain this problem as long as I own this house. My backyard landscaping WILL be destroyed--it's too delicate. And I'm disabled. I can't climb around on a steep hill to try to pull these weeds because I can't spray a huge area and I cannot risk falling down. I would give anything to go back and have ordered from some other company. Use this company at your own risk. I will be calling my attorney Monday to discuss product liability, restoration for damages, and a massive clean up--if that's even possible. read more

We also had 3 other companies provide an estimate. Mountain High was double the average estimate and included far less work to be done. Compare estimates between companies before selecting Mountain High. The idea of someone estimating what they think you're willing to pay opposed to what the job is actually worth is simply unacceptable. read more

This is the second time we have used their service and once again they did an outstanding job: timely visit to give us a quote and beat the competition on price. We choose to use them this time because of the great work they did the first time. This time they had to remove a large limb that was hanging over the power lines. They did the work quickly, efficiently and the area was clean of all debris. They have all the necessary insurance and worked around the power lines giving us peace of mind. read more

We had a huge but diseased Siberian Elm in our backyard. Many leaves of this tree had gradually fallen down during this spring and summer. To make the situation worse, those heavy storms of this summer knocked down many large branches, which hit our electric service line. After careful consideration, we decided to sadly parted from it for once and for all. Originally, we went with a larger company with multi-states operation, we thought since the tree is huge, the larger company must have better experience and equipment. Unfortunately, we were completely wrong. After two months of waiting and two failed attempts, we finally decided to give the Mountain High Tree a try, especially because our neighbor spoke highly of its service. All I can say is that we were so happy with our decision of using the Mountain High Tree, and so glad with the result. The folks we had worked with are very professional, knowledgable, and reliable. In a nutshell - Patrick does not listen, is condescending, and only wants to sell tree service even though the service ticket clearly stated insect control. He refused to believe me when I shared that we have an infestation of rolly pollies. I was wrong according to him. So my research that states that during wet springs, the bugs have 250 young rather than 25, and that they eat plants in wet soil, was all my imagination. Including the 50+ bugs that I found on EACH plants in the morning devouring the spinach, squash, and zucchini. Maybe the client should be listened to. Further it was shared that they are not taking clients right now - so why was my time wasted with the appointment, I will not be reaching out next year. read more

I've used other companies, but I'm back to Mountain High. So far, they're communicating well. They wait to do work until I give a verbal ok, which is what works for me. They redid trimming on my back yard trees a couple of years ago, when someone else did a bad job. And they're trying now to save an old pine tree. They had a solution that no one else suggested, so we'll see how it goes. So far, so good. And they're local. They're also competitively priced. read more

I have used your services for many years. $610.00 is way out of my league for trimming some suckers off a Russian olive tree. I do not know whom you sent out here, but I think he did not know what he was doing. I had that tree trimmed before, but the price was reasonable then. your price this time was totally unreasonable.. good luck. I will find another business. Also, when I wanted my lilac bushes trimmed, the office woman was questioning why I wanted them trimmed so low. The guy was flexible on timing and even dumped it in more than one spot with the dump truck - not easy to do, and took him extra time. Wished we'd read these reviews earlier. The 2-star review from Lana T. sure describes our experience to a "T." We were satisfied with Mountain High until their merger with SavATree and their corporate procedures: 1. SavATree converted their billing from paper to email without notification. By the time this was figured it out, our bill was charged a finance fee. This is because... 2. Their emails were coded subject lines (apparently referring to a customer ID) which (in our opinion) made their messages look more like spam. It's more helpful when a subject line has meaning to the recipient, like "Here is Your Bill...Please Pay!" 3. SavATree discontinued their senior discount program, again without any prior notice. When calling about a higher price than originally quoted, their customer service representative did not offer to honor any prior senior discount commitments. 4. On several occasions, we had to call more than once to get an estimate (either tree trimming or ash tree/emerald boar). Like Ts M.'s review (dated 2/19/2018), they no longer seem to be very interested in obtaining or keeping business. 5. Requests to talk about these concerns to a manager were denied by the customer service representatives. 6. What finally did it was an appointment to treat an ash tree (again after asking twice for an estimate). They never showed up and never called. When called to ask what happened, the customer representative said there was no record of such an appointment. However, we definitely had had their "robo-voice" telephone message confirming the appointment. The rep offered no explanation and certainly no offer to speak with a manager. The next day, we received a second "robo-voice" telephone message with a new date and time. No explanation and certainly no apology. After all this inconsiderate treatment, there was no longer had any choice but to cancel the service. Realizing that nobody is perfect and mistakes happen, but this is unacceptable. This company cleaned our complex and accidentally broke a glass on our back yard table, which I have not even noticed. They have put a notice on our door admitting the accident and told us in that note that they were working on fixing the glass. A new glass table top was there in just a few days. You don't see an honest company like that very often. We were very impressed, and grateful! read more

In addition to making a MESS and just blowing it onto nearby grass, today I watched this company - who was hired to cut the dead branches from trees - also cut down living GREEN branches! They just destroyed every branch on a living tree - when only a few were brown. In order to cut these branches off they used a saw from the ground, which caused one branch to nearly hit an apartment's glass sliding door! Then left a trunk outside that apartment with no branches - just lovely to look at...(who needs green I guess?!?!). Several more trees were left similarly nearly bare unnecessarily. They also just left their truck and "tree eater" (whatever that is called) running idle when not in use (wasting plenty of diesel I'm sure). Lastly, it was clear from the way that the branches and trunks were demolished that this company does not offer/use any sort of recycling program for the wood they chop. So just more destruction of plant life (may I stress LIFE!) for no good reason. read more

Disappointed with MHTLL's follow up. They have done work in my yard many times over the years but negotiating and following up on their warranty/replacement policy is a hassle. It is distasteful to have to cajole a company several times to come back to look at underperforming plants only to wait 6 weeks to have them to leave a note that the tree is dead (um obviously) and then more outgoing calls only to be told that is not under warranty or "it is Mother Nature...what do you want me to do". Eh. The run around alone is a huge time drain....the customer service feels like posturing instead of a sincere effort. It is a busy time in Denver so not sure if a competitor will out perform MHTLL but this long time customer is moving on! read more

I called for an estimate to have two dead trees removed. There is one dead tree in my yard and one dead tree in my neighbor's yard and we are hoping to find one company to do both trees. My neighbor travels often and asked me to schedule the estimate. Mountain High Tree wouldn't even schedule an estimate unless my neighbor called in separately. Trying to coordinate everything via separate conversations is something I don't have time to do. I got a bad first impression from this company and told them nevermind; I will find a company who conducts business with reasonable respect for people's time. read more

Called this company over a month ago to have my small lawn aerated, they said it would be 7-10 days, no problem. 14 days went by and they never came so I called again. They said sorry, we'll be out ASAP, don't worry we'll take care of it. Another couple weeks went by and hadn't heard a thing from them. So I called them and they said I had cancelled. This was a surprise to me. Apparently they called the guy that owned my house 5 years ago and he said he didn't live here and to cancel it. Awesome. So they came by a few days later to aerate. Didn't actually do my entire yard, they missed two sections, and left mud on the sidewalk. Not a great experience. I called them to give them feedback, and they didn't call me back. Then they showed up unannounced while I was at work and aerated the rest of the lawn. Still no phone call or email back, or apology for dropping the ball several times. We had this company plant a maple tree in our front yard 3 years ago. The tree has been very healthy. They gave me very clear instructions for watering the tree to avoid roots going to the surface and damaging my front lawn, which has been successful. They even stopped by last year to inspect my tree when I expressed a concern about a split in the bark, and did not charge anything. We are very pleased. read more

I contacted Mile High to trim various overgrown trees in my yard. The office staff was professional and courteous. An Arborist promptly called and set up a time to meet. Upon review of my trees, he provided a very competitive estimate. Mile High showed up within a week, trimmed and removed the debris. Mountain High Tree has been my go to company for removing trees as well as tree maintenance. This is the first time I have used MHT for the purchase and planting of replacement trees. They were on time, professional, courteous and very tidy. I have had to replace 3 Arborvitaes twice over the past few years and used two different landscape companies (NOT Mountain High Tree, by the way). Neither of the other companies I used before had cut the baskets around the root balls! No wonder they died! My replacements from MHT are Norway Spruces and they are stunning. I'm sure I will enjoy them for many years to come since MHT DID cut the baskets the way it's supposed to be done!! I wish I would have used them in the first place! MHT is amazing! read more

Hard pass on this company. I contacted them in January when I got a letter from the city about the emerald ash bore and treating ash tree's. I was told they'd be starting that work in April. I then followed up in May to see when they were going to come and the woman I spoke to was very rude and told me to be patient. She said that they will call 48 hours in advance of them coming to my property. Well someone just showed up at my door today with no notice and said he was there to treat our tree's and was rude to my wife because she had no idea what he was talking about. He also made a comment that it took a long time to answer the door and he knew someone was home due to the car in the back. Well my wife works nights as a nurse so she sleeps during the day. He woke her up, was rude to her and did not have an appointment. I recommend not using this company. read more

I used this company for 6-7 years and moved houses and just called a couple years later to restart services with them. I don't know what's happened - whether it's the change of ownership or what is happening, but I arranged to be home to meet them on Monday and then got a call saying the guy was in a webinar and they needed to reschedule to Wednesday. I arranged to be home on Wednesday and when he hadn't shown up I called four times and no one picked up the phone. The fifth time they told me Kevin had locked his keys in the truck. When Kevin finally called me he had attitude and I finally said "I'm sorry I'm going to cancel this appointment." I left a message for the manager who wasn't available. We have several mature trees needing attention on our property. I contacted this company because of their wording on their truck. I was a professional landscaper in my past career and took many classes on tree health and dangers to others. We had two trees,a cottonwood and an elm. Mountain High was able to do one job in the fall and one in December where we received aa 10% discount.Both times the job ws professional and completed in a healthy manner for the trees. My experience with Mountain High has been very positive so far. My lawn had a rapidly growing void of grass happening. Each day, for 3 days, this spot of dying grass and exposed dirt grew. I had no idea what was happening as the rest of the lawn looked fine. It took Chad about 13 seconds to diagnose my problem as rabbits. But he didn't just say "rabbits" and leave. Instead, he spent about 20 minutes going through the front and back yards, explaining how to get rid of the rabbits (so far, they're gone from the back...can't really stop them in the front) and discussed all sorts of options about how to improve yard health and prep for some big landscaping we want to do next year. Chad never hawked any products or swindled my mind toward a treatment my grass didn't need. Instead, he told me options given how late in spring we were, and I decided to take him up on one. He even told me how technically I could do it on my own - but between the equipment and product I needed, it probably would have cost me the same or more, excluding my time. I signed up for a a few treatments because of Chad's professionalism and friendliness. Chad also gave me info about their landscaping design services which is something we may consider next year. So another gentleman came to treat the lawn. I was told he would be here at noon. He showed at 11:14 a.m. I took note because, as I've learned, more service pros show up early here than they arrive at the scheduled time. So far, that's been pretty much a blessing (that never happened once while I lived in Virginia). Yes, I am a fan. p.s. I forgot to mention above that this was a last minute, late Friday scheduling to get Chad out for an eval. Called this company to come evaluate our lawn which needs a lot of work. Was told someone would call me to set up a time in the next 5 days or so. I stressed how I really needed to meet with someone in person. Someone showed up without calling when we weren't home, left a paper evaluation on the door. I called the company back letting them know I had questions and really wanted to meet someone in person and also have them look at the back yard which they weren't able to do. Woman on the phone was very helpful and kind, said she would call the service manager to see if he could come out again. He (Lee) called back said he heard I had questions. I said yes I have questions but I also want to meet and go through the lawn in person. He said he didn't know what else he could expand upon. I said fine then I'm not going to use a company that's unwilling to meet with me in person to discuss work that needs to be done. The evaluatiin said we have mites, what kind of mites? There are many different kinds. It also says we have thin grass with lots of weeds but doesn't suggest any sort of seeding of the lawn. Regardless, I called these guys because they have good reviews but my experience was bad and we are going to use a company that is willing to spend time to explain and discuss the services we will be paying for. read more

I had good service from Mountain High Tree (MHT), until the last service, which was to spray my evergreen trees. When I arrived home on the day of spraying, my neighbor, who lives directly across the street from me, asked how many trees in the front yard I paid to be sprayed. I indicated 2 in front and 1 in back. He then told me that he observed the technician get set up and then only spray one side of 1 tree in front, and that the technician didn't spray the 2nd tree in front at all. The service truck was blocking his view of the entrance to my back yard so my neighbor couldn't comment on what did or did not happen in the back yard. Contacted MHT and was told that my neighbor must be mistaken. I trust my neighbor who had absolutely no motive to get involved other than to make sure I got the service I paid for, as he thought it strange only 1/2 of a tree would be sprayed. MHT handled this situation very badly (kept sending me bills requesting full payment when I do not believe they performed the full service) and as a result have lost a customer. read more

He also had to move our patio furniture because we forgot to do that as well and instead of stating he would have to come back at another time, he moved the furniture and got the service done.
