I contacted Stump Removal & Daughter while I was on vacation for family birthdays. I needed a stump and surface roots removed. I had contacted two other places for estimates, and none of them called me back. One called and said they would come out and look at the stump and then give me an estimate, but they never called me back. I expected that I would get an estimate and they would come out after I returned from my vacation. He said he'd go out and take a look at the stump and would give me a call. Sure enough, he gave me a call a couple of days later, and what surprised me was that, he said he was at my house, and if we agreed upon the price, he'd take care of the stump right then and there, and leave me a bill. AWESOME!!! When I got home from vacation, the stump was removed, the mulch was mixed with the upturned soil, and he dug me a hole for a new tree to be planted next to the one that was removed. The only complaint that I had was that the hole was smaller than the ball of the tree I needed to plant, so I had to dig the hole wider, but this is a MINOR complaint. If the hole wasn't already there, it would have been even harder. I would definitely recommend Stump Removal & Daughter. read more

We have been using Stump Removal & Daughter for years. Very knowledgeable people. They show up on time and clean up after the job. They are very competitive, not always the cheapest, but mostly they are. I have come to know the owner of the franchise. He is a very honest hard working man. They are more then stump removal. They cut down trees of all sizes, sometimes in very difficult locations with no property damage. ( a competitor cut down one for us and hit the house damaging the siding, they left and did not tell us). We eventually got it resolved, but I will not use them again. They also did a great job pruning a tree for us recently. We have a lot of trees and have used Stump & Daughter often, only one call back and not their fault. We had to dig a deep footing for a deck and had to call them back to dig down the stump root even deeper. They came right back. No extra charge. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I called after 6pm for some pretty urgent stump removal from my work parking. Not only did Mordecai pick up right away (which I wasn't expecting at that late hour), but he was so accommodating, sincere/genuine, funny!, and truly made me feel like our customer satisfaction was #1. I couldn't have been more impressed (I thought), and then I pulled into my work parking lot the very next morning to discover that he and he and his crew were already at our location, and the job was already completed!!! Don't use Glenn Levinson for your tree removal. He seemed like a great guy so even though he was overpriced we hired him because he promised to come back if we needed him to remove more of the stump so that we could lay concrete. When he came back he wanted more money and since we wouldn't pay extra he left without finishing the job. He promised a receipt in the mail and never sent anything so we have no paperwork. The neighbor paid 1/3 for the same job from another company. We had planned on using them to clear property in the mountains but after we found out that he is not a man of his word we will discourage everyone we can from hiring him! read more

Glenn told me he ran a professional business, which you hear all the time from others in the industry, but he actually delivered. He was on time for the quote and the work, did the work as quoted and left the premises in great shape. I recently noticed a couple small stumps that I didn't locate when he did the original work & I didn't want to bother Glenn with such a small job, but he happened to be in the neighborhood and was over within 20 minutes and had the work done in 15 minutes. We contacted Glenn after receiving an unsolicited bid from him regarding removal of of large juniper roots. We called to inquire what his availability was and if his bid was in fact as low as he could go. We were verbally attacked and belittled on the phone. We have never been treated so rudely by any business owner period. I would never give him our business now, and would encourage others to take their business elsewhere as well. Frankly I would be afraid to have Glenn around my home and family. His temper and attitude were concerning. CONSUMER BEWARE!!!! read more

These guys are awesome. We had an enormous pine stump that needed to be removed. I called on a Sunday, and within a couple of hours I received a call back and was on the books for Wednesday the same week. They came out and did an AMAZING job. They took the stump with them, ground down what was left, and pulled the roots out. They also raked the area and left it in much better shape than when they arrived. I had 3 tree stumps removed on 06/03/2014 from this company and they did a great job. It is so nice to work with a company that actually calls you back and shows up when they say they will. These guys are TRUE Professionals. They got here WHEN THEY SAID THEY'D be here, (Between 9 & 10 AM) They did a TON of work. One stump was as big as a SOFA, 3 Dead Thorn Bushes that covered the ENTIRE front of my house. They made that, AND A LOT MORE, go Hasta la Bye Bye, in less than an hour and 1/2. I was amazed how safety conscious the whole crew operated. Even between chainsaws running they were communicating with each other and working together. They were very helpful and helped to load the wood very nice in the truck. The guys were helpful about tree trimming and types of wood that is better to burn for the winter.
