Matt and his crew of three were on-time, to-the-minute like clockwork on-time at 8:30 am as-promised to remove a massively-overgrown tree-zilla beast of a tree. My tree-zilla was an ungodly gargantuan tree-from-hell boasting a diameter of 44 inches at the widest point, this behemoth was the size of about 6-7 regular trees fused together growing into one beastmaster. Along with calling out the cavalry, Matt brought in the heavy artillery: a crane with passenger bucket, trucks, haulers and an array of mechanical pick-up machines. Once Matt has his equipment and crew in-place, they took down this beastmaster of a tree with surgical-precision, exceeding my expectations immensely. My neighbors watched from their deck and we made a party out of it. Once the smoke cleared and sawdust settled - there were no injuries, no damages to any property, but was a heck-of-a-show to watch live on-site. Matt and his crew took down the tree, removed every last log, branch and debris, the stump and all roots were grinded, all shavings were removed and all traces of the tree ceased to exist exactly as I had hoped for. Matt and his crew were polite, respectful and great to work with. As a homeowner, all were respectful of my home and property and I am extremely grateful to have chosen Matt's Maintenance. I treated Matt and his awesome crew to pizza from nearby Catalina's. I am very relieved to have this tree removed and gone. We have used Matt's Tree service for several year now and each time they do an outstanding job. We have them do several tall trees 30 - 40 feet in height and they will either prune or shape and remove all dead branches so they remain very heathy and can withstand the severe winters and extreme heat in the summers. They also will keep our bushes trim and maintain the landscaping that we had done over a decade ago. We like the fact that they have all their own equipment, cherry pickers for the tall trees, large shredder so when they are done we have no mess and people that are experienced in understanding a balanced yard so it doesn't get overgrown and encroach on our neighbors yards. Because of all the severe weather we have had in 2023 we talked with them in July for scheduling in the fall. They called the week before and scheduled us for the following Thursday AM. They were here promptly at 8:15 AM and worked for about 5 1/2 hours and finished everything. If I could give Matt's Maintenance Tree Service six stars I would. We needed a large Willow tree (over 75 feet) removed. We received three bids. Matt's was the lowest bid. Sometimes accepting the lowest bid is not a good idea, but because of great neighbor recommendations, we went with Matt's and we are very happy we did. This was not an easy job. Matt did the job himself along with an assistant. He used a huge crane, which was necessary to reach the tree in our backyard and to grab onto and cut limbs. Matt utilized a remote controller to maneuver the crane. This took a lot of skill. If any of the limbs fell it would have damaged our neighbor's house. He completed this job in four hours including having the wood shredded and hauled away. (The other bidders said it would take several days to do this job.) Matt and his team have taken care of our property for over ten years, and we couldn't be happier with their service. Our lot is heavily wooded--with pines, spruce, maple, scrub oaks, and honey locusts--so it requires consistent annual trimming and maintenance, which they've handled reliably year after year. In the beginning of October I started pricing out a really tall dead tree and trimming of my maple in my front yard. I had multiple companies come out and give me prices and Matt's Mattenance was the best price so we went with them. They put us on the schedule for the beginning of November. They kept in touch with and when the day came the crew show up promptly and they were extremely nice and professional. They informed me that the same morning their chipper had broken down and would it be ok if the branches stayed until the next day when Matt would come and get it all chipped down. Of course I said that would be ok. The crew trimmed and cut down my dead tree and cleaned up all the branches into nice piles and they treated my property great. Matt's Maintenance removed 5 problem trees at an amazingly fair price; huge dying cottonwood, huge splitting/rotting maple, pine too close to our house, russian olive, and ash. All including stump grinding. Then two weeks later he was back when our neighbors cottonwood fell into her home. Matt's was able to save our home from the remainder of their tree which was risking to fall into our home and we were evacuated by the fire marshal, working well into the night during a rain storm. We were hesitant when the Marshal originally said they had some tree guy with a crane coming to park in our driveway, then we saw it was Matt's and all hesitation disappeared!!! I have even called Matt's back to prune our apple tree and omg it looks beautiful and is regaining its natural shape since we had too many trees around it taking resources. Matt's is so my tree guy! We needed to have a blue spruce removed that had been planted too close to our house by a previous owner. We contacted Matt and he promptly scheduled to come out for an estimate, which ended up being very reasonable. We wanted to be able to plant a much smaller tree in the same spot, so we needed the tree removed and the stump ground low enough to allow us to replant in the same spot. Matt's team did a great job and our new tree is thriving. Matt's team was very careful around the existing plants and hardscape and did a great job of cleaning up after their work. We were concerned about wood chips from the grinding getting strewn throughout our landscaping, but apart from the immediate area of the original tree, there were no chips to be found. Yes, that's a wood chipper that crashed into the garage door. Why the 5 star review? For the way Matt and his guys handled the situation. During the tree trimming job their trucks emergency brake let go and the truck and chipper rolled backwards to the house. Luckily, the chipper just went into the garage door and no one was hurt. Matt's was out of town and his head guy DJ was onsite and in charge. DJ and his workers stayed at the job until almost 9pm so they could get the chipper out and secure the opening where the garage door used to be. Matt subtracted the cost of the door out of what was owed to him to pay for the damage. In fact, he paid for both doors as they were older and could not be reproduced to match. I first metMatt & his team while watching them use their big crane picker to remove a dead tree from my neighbors yard. I should add that they did the removal from the front yard, and it was pretty cool to see Matt standing on the roof of the house, and removing the massive dead pine tree bit by bit. After he was safely on the ground, I walked out and asked if he could take out an ash tree that we had, which had some ash bore issues... Matt wasn't sure if they'd have time to do it that day, but committed to get the job done one way or another. To my surprise, they got it out, and ground the stump in less than 30 minutes. Matt is on the job and thinks "out of the box." After three-plus years of showing up on a late spring Saturday from 9:00 to noon to chip/shred our year's accumulation of shrub/tree debris. 99 homes, maybe three hours of work, done deal. This year we had less, things vary of course, and Matt's team grew bored. Next year we'll stage everything at the curb and let them cruise the streets and be done in "less than three hours." Not sure that's going to pass muster, but we are going to try it and see. We had a large (35+ foot) tree in our front yard that was unfortunately planted very close to our house. I was afraid that it might damage the foundation or the roof (if it dropped a limb). In any case it had to come out. Matt's team removed it and its stump. They were very careful and dropped the tree in the exact place it needed to fall and not damage anything in the yard. After they dropped the tree the cut it up and removed all of the debris from the lawn These guys are very professional and they work fast. Everything worked out great. Was very impressed with DJ and Tyler. They cut down 3 huge cottonwood trees probably 50 foot trees, and a huge Russian Olive tree in our driveway. Also a very large Aspen by our house. Wow, is all I can say. They both knew what they were doing and after they finished cutting the trees down they did an excellent job of cleaning up. Matt and his team did a fantastic job in removing a dead cottonwood from our back yard! It was a difficult distance from the front street, but Matt was able to position his large boom truck in a way that he could reach the dead branches. After that, Matt's team member entered the tree and was able to work on the large trunk that remained, (55" diameter), bringing it down. Outstanding work done by Matt and his helpers D.J. & Tyler today! They removed 2 large dead Aspen trees down to the ground as we wanted. Groomed a very large Colorado Blue Spruce beautifully. Removed dead branches from 3 other pine trees and groomed an amor maple tree. Cleaned up "every" area before they left. I had excellent service from this company. Matt came to my house and gave me a fair estimate to remove 3 very large dead pine trees and trim other pine trees on my property. Cody and Miguel did an excellent job removing the dead trees, trimming the dead branches, and cleaning up afterwards. After the damage to our big tree in the front from the heavy, wet snow fall on 21/22 May, I called Matt and received a super fast response. Had a huge Maple that had never been maintained. Matt and his crew gave it some TLC which it desperately needed. Did a great job. Everything was cleaned up after all the branches were cut down. Matt's Tree Maintenance worked on my trees several months ago. We had to select the most urgent work, as the trees had missed attention for a couple of years. They were on time, efficient, cleaned up and helped me plan the next phase.
