4.5 stars overall. Read on to see why. Good things come to those who wait…read more I found Steel City via Yelp, where they responded quickly to my message, but had to delay coming by for an estimate. . After visits from five other tree services/arborists, Elvis came by and offered the best overall combo of expertise and price without trying to upsell. This was late October and he told us he could get us on the schedule for early December and would call to set that up. I came home from work yesterday and was very pleased with what I found. My front yard looks much better and if it ever snows, I'm not worried about branches falling on my roof or any car parked in the driveway. Mission accomplished! Bonus goods: Elvis removed some small bushes from my yard and not only hauled away debris from this job, but took some large tree limbs and debris that broke off months ago--at no additional charge! This was huge and much appreciated. He also gave us advice on how to remove an unsightly shrub that came with the house. Minor issues: 1) After the initial estimate and agreement in October, I had to call Steel City in late November to check in and see if we were still on for our projected time frame. 2) I had planned on using a credit card to pay, but they add 3% to the bill. While I understand the need to recoup processor fees, folks who cannot drop large sums of money up front should be aware of this. I would hire them again based on expertise, concern for customer needs, pricing, and quality of work--especially the prices, which were substantially less than other arborists. Elvis went above and beyond the call of duty.

Let me say this. If you need tree work done in your yard, and are looking at vendors, whether you…read moredecide on Qualitree or not, you DEFINITELY need to have them on your evaluation list. We needed a tree removed from our backyard and I personally vetted out five vendors, including one I used before. Everyone comes to your property and looks at the situation, gives you their thoughts, and send you an estimate. MEETING Ronny, who runs this place, is worth the experience alone. He is knowledgeable, not overly sales-y, transparent, friendly, and really seems to have a passion and caring for his work that is unmatched. This man truly loves trees, and just comes across as a really good dude. His price was really good in comparison to the others, but his personality is what really sold me on their company. He gave me options for the estimate, so I understood the various tiers of work. Most importantly, instead of upselling me on more work, his primary option was a lower amount, but made the most amount of sense for future housework we are having done. Finally, he spotted something in the pine trees (ips beetle marks) that no one else noticed. That really caught my eye. As far as the process... He first moved another appointment to accommodate our first choice of date. Then, he had some people get sick (pretty logical that you need the required amount of folks to remove a tree to do a job), had to cancel, and then moved ANOTHER appointment to accommodate the next available day. The removal was seamless. His crew was respectful, polite, and friendly, his work was done in the promised time, and he even called Xcel personally both for the required power off but also for the power on. We also had a tricky brick-surrounded island to navigate around, and watching them drop stuff harmlessly around it was sort of like watching Van Gogh paint a masterpiece. They are very careful about your belongings, and they even covered my hot tub during the removal. They left the place as they found it (except for the missing tree), and kept me in the loop on progress all day. His estimated price was the final price, and a customer always likes when hidden fees don't appear. He was organized via check, Zelle, or Venmo for payment (QR codes ready to go), and efficiently passed me that info when needed. Very organized shop. Removing a tree is nothing any homeowner wants to deal with optimally, but I can say that I enjoyed Qualitree's process more than I could have imagined. Sorry that I was working during any possible pics of them being high in the air. Last thing. I love wordplay, and you have to simply LOVE the name of a tree company being Quali...tree. They came out that weekend to give me a free quote, and I felt very comfortable with them. While I was a bit hesitant to do such a big job with a company with few reviews, I selected them based on my like for both Jose and Vera, their very fair quote, and their clear expertise when it comes to landscaping. So, what did I have done? I had the entire front and back yard xeriscaped (see before and after pics I uploaded). They really had their work cut out for them! The yard was a mess with dandelions and a plethora of other weeds, and had really been ripped up thanks to cutting down a few sumacs over the years (and, to be honest, my general disdain for lawn maintenance). No problem for Jazmine's - in just a day and a half they got everything dug out, laid weed cover (the good stuff), planted three trees, and put down all the rock. They were very patient with me in choosing the trees and the rock, and took an immense amount of pride in their work. Jose even came back the next day and added a little mulch around the new trees - I guess what they'd put down the day before wasn't quite up to his standards (even though it certainly met mine!). The whole crew were a delight to have around! Everyone was friendly and professional, working quickly and cleaning up after themselves. I'm guessing some of you have also been hesitant to book Jazmine's for big projects since they're new to Yelp, but I can vouch for them and their work 100%
