Located on a lovely Cobblestone street in a 3 story historic rowhouse the waiting room is classically charming with spa gifts to peruse while you wait. I do not know why this place has bad reviews. I got a great bikini wax by Sydney she made me feel so comfortable and really knows what she is doing. I got an amazing hour long facial by Myia, it was sm fun but also professional getting a facial by her. The staff is extremely kind and friendly. My wife and I recently had massages on our vacation here; as owners of a wellness center that offers massage, we are always eager to see how other places operate and love to experience services for ourselves. In the past, we have been disappointed with either the service or the experience in general, so we are always cautiously optimistic when trying other places. We both had 90 minute massages here and not only were the massages both fantastic, the staff was extremely personable, friendly and made us feel welcome from start to finish. Not being from the area I called and asked about packages the receptionist said they aren't honoring the packages and to book a facial or massage... when arriving to the spa I was also very confused...online and reviews all show an old home for the spa. The spa hasn't been in the historic home in months but online you wouldn't know anything about the move. Received an email to show up 5-10 minutes early to "unwind" aka sit in the lobby while the receptionist answers calls. For a "spa" experience unwinding is usually sitting in a quiet space in a separated area. The bathrooms were small. The massage was great the room seemed thrown together with the mirror on the floor. 6/24/2024 - Do not trust their quotes! My group was quoted $65 each for a massage. I was quoted $110 for a massage and scrub. When it was over, I was charged $195, and my group was charged $85 each. When we expressed an issue with the establishment, they called the owner who had them call the police on us! I travel with this group of beautiful, African American women regularly. We are all professional women and law abiding citizens. One of the employees who has worked there for over 10 years was appalled and said in all of her time she had never seen the police called on anyone. She was upset and took the rest of the day off. I wish the same could be said about the management. My friend had paid for a 5.5hr package and was told to hurry up before her time because the manager wanted to go home. My husband and I booked a couples massage (10/22/21) for our babymoon in Savannah. I was so looking forward to my prenatal massage and he too was looking forward to his massage. Upon arrival, we were greeted by their wonderful receptionist. She is kind and was really the only positive thing we experienced while we were there. The two massage therapists came down to grab us and they did not greet us warmly. They asked us to follow them up. Upon entering the room, neither massage therapists talked to us about our overall goals of the massage nor asked if we had any problem areas we would like addressed. My massage therapist, an African American lady with short hair, was cold and unkind. She made me lay on my back for the majority of the massage, which is not recommended when you are in the 3rd trimester. I explained to her that I was in pain and she did nothing to adjust. She also did not care to adjust the pressure, after I can requested she do so. It was a glorified lotion rub, if anything. When I had asked her to adjust pressure, she snapped and me and said "did I not see she was working her way up and would get to it,". She did not. She kept saying "you need to relax". I laid there debating whether to make a scene and get up mid-way through the massage. I did not because I would have had to make my husband stop his massage and he looked like he was actually getting a decent massage. I laid there in tears and counted the minutes until it was over. It was the WORST massage and experience I've ever had. When we checked out, I was in tears and the receptionist called the owner. She stated the owner would call me. It's been a week and she has not. To top it off they still charged me for my more expensive prenatal massage. They did slightly discounted it, however, if they would have cared, the owner would have called and made things right or offered another service during our stay in Savannah. AVOID this place. My fiancé and I got couples deep tissue massages here yesterday and had a mixed experience. Pros and cons are below. PROs - We were able to get an appointment for a Friday evening the day before and the process for making the appointment was easy. - The spa is beautiful and clean. - The staff were friendly. - My masseuse did a great job - my back and neck were extremely tight and in a bit of pain and she worked out the kinks well and I felt much better immediately after. CONs -Their COVID-19 precautions were lacking. The receptionist took our temperature and asked about our symptoms and there was a sign on the door that said masks were required in the lobby. HOWEVER, the receptionist was the only staff member wearing a proper mask in the entire establishment. My masseuse was wearing a bandanna that she took off and touched several times while interacting with us. A bandanna is not a proper mask and she should have kept her bandanna (or better yet, a real mask, on the entire time). My fiancé's masseuse had her nose exposed with a mask under it. A woman who appeared to be the owner did not wear a mask while in the lobby. Several clients in the lobby did not wear masks and the staff didn't ask them to. My masseuse who was wearing the bandanna ask a mask told me: "you don't have to wear a mask during the massage since I'm wearing one". I told her I would definitely be wearing my mask given what I had seen. I suggest the spa review CDC guidelines and be more responsible with following mask precautions to protect their staff and clientele. I know operating during a pandemic is difficult, but if our healthcare staff can don full PPE, the rest of us can do our part and wear a mask. - My fiancé was disappointed in his massage - the masseuse used a ton of oil and didn't really go deep into his tissues - she moved fast and did a lot of tapping. My masseuse had mentioned the other masseuse was new, so perhaps it was lack of practice. We booked a couples massage, the therapist did not even introduce herself to me or ask anything about my preferences. She never asked how things were going or amount of pressure. Also there's no neck support on the bed so my neck hurt worse after the service. Also the room is cold, the bed is not heated, and the lotion was cold. It was a very impersonal average massage. Their advertisement noted specials each day, and I was fortunate enough to book on a Wednesday, of which the special was a facial with a brow wax. Donna was absolutely wonderful, pleasant and attentive to my sensitive skin. I love a scalp massage and she gave me one for at least 10 minutes while my mud mask was drying. Absolutely horrible experience with the owner of this spa. We visited Savannah Day Spa as a group for my Bachelorette party. We booked a 60 minute massage for all 4 girls 6 months ago. My bridal party and I were the only ones in there other than one other lady. Unfortunately there was a mix up and the other lady had the same name as one of my bridesmaids. They took my bridesmaid meaning to take the other girl. My bridesmaid sat upstairs waiting for her massage for nearly TWO HOURS! Trying to be patient, she asked what was going on only twice trusting we were in good hands. The mix up was very stressful and caused a lot of our tightly planned weekend to be messed up. However, the most disappointing part of our trip to the spa was how the owner treated not only her paying customers but also her employees. While in the waiting room I heard her yell at a customer on the phone and cancel their appointment. I had no idea that I would soon be on the phone with her, after an awful experience, being attacked, told I was just trying to get a free service, that this was our fault, and "it really didn't effect me."We were told my friend would be "taken care of" as we left. My friend came back to the hotel crying because of how they treated her. She only discounted her massage $10! After a two hour wait from appointment time! We tried to resolve this matter outside of this review but were told "go ahead and leave a bad review. We will be ready to say how all of the clients were talking about you." Not sure what I can say that's positive about my experience here. We did a girls trip to Savannah a week ago and booked ourselves the Savannah Day Spa package on a Saturday. This is a 5 hour package that lasted 4 hours at best. There was not a moment when we didn't feel rushed and uncomfortable. The facial was likely the best part of the entire experience (if I were to pick a service). The massage was mediocre at best and the hair mask was just rubbed on for 5 seconds on my hair. There is no rain shower, it's just a weird dinky shower, which is horrific if you're tall like me, not to mention grimy with old hair in there. My manicure lasted a day and continued to peel off in wholes from my nails every hour that I was there. The manager is extremely rudeeee, and does not know how to talk to her employees with customers around. She only cares to rush out of there and definitely did not want to be working on a weekend. Food was ok and was not served in any hydro lounge. It was just served to us on our pedicure chairs. The employees are nice and try their best but the management is poor and the services are extremely substandard. Please do not ruin your trip to Savannah by going here. 4 girls on the trip, all hated it! In addition, On google reviews, the owner said they spent 7 hours on us, not true. Well Peggie S really hit the nail on the head with her review so I don't have a whole lot to add. I ordered the Savannah Day Dream for me and my 2 girl friends. Weird/Bad/Unsure Well one friend didn't get her hair mask. Not that big of a deal except I paid for that. I'd appreciate even a tiny refund or apology or something for that. The drinks offered all had alcohol with no option for non-alcoholic. It's 9am. No thanks. To their credit, they did offer to make me a cup of tea but carrying a hot cup of tea up 3 flights of stairs is not ideal. Lunch. Omg lunch. So first, they separated me & the 2 girlfriends all day. We didn't see each other again until all the services were done. When it said we would have lunch in the hydro lounge, I expected something different that a tiny room in the basement. I also expected that I'd be eating lunch with my friends. We went in at 9am, I ate lunch at 10:30am, next ate at 11:30am, next at 12pm. Both me and the second girl believed we had been kidnapped during our lunch. Yall think I'm kidding. I'm not. They take you downstairs in an old school type elevator and drop you off. I think that someone is supposed to come get you for your next service but they really didn't give me a schedule or tell me that someone would come get us. I DID get silverware and napkins at least. But after about 10 minutes alone with my lunch, I wanted to know what was next, where the bathroom was, etc. I tried to open the door, locked. Tried to press the elevator button, nothing. No signs anywhere about anything. I checked the door again to see and it turns out it was just sandbags holding me in so I pushed the sandbags out the way and stepped outside to escape my captors. My friend who had lunch after me had just about the same experience except she ended up getting the elevator to work. Please communicate with your victims better. 3rd girl who normally freaks out, had a perfectly fine lunch. Us 2, neither ate even half of what we got due to paranoia. Communication - again, we were not told at all what we were to expect as far as scheduling etc. It just seemed messy. They also had difficulties that day with their credit card processor and said they would call me to let me know it was back up and they were going to run the card. They did not call me. Does it matter? Not really. But why tell me you'd call me.. The good Every single service was exceptional. If it wasn't for all the weird stuff, I'd give it 5 stars. My friends agreed that was the best facial / massage etc. they had ever had. I mean, every single service was excellent. The location was great, the old building was cool, service great. My boyfriend and I decided to schedule our first couples' massage while we were visiting Savannah. The lady who scheduled our appointment was very polite and told us that someone would call to confirm our appointment a day or two ahead of time. When no one called, I got worried/annoyed and contacted them to see what was up. Apparently there was some sort of mix up and they only scheduled a one person massage (even though they got both of our names? Did they think one of us was just going to hang out while the other one got a massage? I don't get it...) When we got to our appointment, the receptionist looked surprised that there were two of us. They made us wait while they found a second massage therapist, but then eventually led us up to the room. The spa is in an old house with very thin walls. Even though there are reminders to stay off your cell phone and use your "spa voice," these rules are not enforced. I heard people clomping around the halls and talking outside our room the whole time which really ruined the ambiance. The room had two massage beds,a bath tub (more on that later), but no real changing area...just a chair in the corner where we could throw our clothes. We both enjoyed our massages, but apparently there was no communication between the therapists about time; my boyfriend's massage therapist was keeping the time so when she said time was up my massage ended abruptly. My right arm was being worked on and my left arm hadn't even been touched. The part that annoyed me the most was that on the website, they say "What sets us apart is that when you come as a couple you stay together, change together, bathe together, spend no moments apart." We did get to change together in a cramped dark corner, but there was no option to bathe after our massages (separately or together, for that matter). We felt rushed to get in and get out, which didn't live up to the romantic expectations that the website gave us. The worst part was when we were checking out at the front desk, I asked the receptionist to add a tip to the bill. The amount of money I asked her to add would work out to be about an 18% tip for each massage therapist. Apparently the receptionist thought that wasn't good enough because she said, "Oh, you want them to split that?" Due to the other reviews, it seems my bad experience was unique, but I still can't recommend this spa and I definitely won't return. read more

We decided to indulge and treat ourselves to a deep tissue couples massage. After a bit of research, I decided the Savannah Day Spa was the place to go. It was located within walking distance from our hotel in a historic, quaint house on a tree-lined street. I immediately felt relaxed in the serene, comfortable atmosphere of the spa. We were quickly shown to our massage room. The massage itself was amazing, both my husband and I were on Cloud 9. The only hiccup that occurred was when my husband forgot to take off his socks. Who doesn't take off their socks when they go for a massage? Silly man. His masseuse removed them for him, and all was well.
