We were truly looking forward to a relaxing visit. However, we experienced a sudden family emergency that required us to return home immediately -- a three-hour drive away. Our appointment was scheduled for 10:00 a.m., and I called at 6:00 a.m. as soon as we knew we had to leave. I left a voicemail explaining the emergency and requested a callback. I received a return call at 10:00 a.m. from the staff member working that morning (2/14/26). I again explained the situation and sincerely apologized, asking if the cancellation fee could be waived given the circumstances. Unfortunately, the response felt cold and lacked empathy. I was told the charge could not be waived, despite this being a true emergency completely out of our control. We were not just charged a standard cancellation fee -- we were charged the full cost of the massage, totaling $250.00. I also requested that a manager or owner return my call to further discuss the situation, but I never received a follow-up call. The lack of response was especially disappointing and unprofessional. I understand and respect that businesses have cancellation policies to protect against no-shows and last-minute cancellations. However, there should be room for compassion and discretion in genuine, unavoidable emergencies. Customer service and empathy matter. We will be returning to Savannah to complete the trip we were unable to enjoy, but we will choose a different spa. I would rather support a business that demonstrates understanding and care toward its clients. I did not want to give any stars but it would not let me post review without it. read more

My wife had a prenatal massage and I had a medium full body. My wife's masseuse was Gera and I had the lovely Lisa. To get straight to the point, it was one of the best massages my wife and I ever had. They did an amazing job hitting problem points and not lingering too long in a certain area. Sweet Water was the highlight of my trip to Savannah. I had reached out by email and phone and communicated with Keith regarding my appointment. He was super accommodating and gracious. Upon check-in I found out he was doing my massage. He's the manager and also a massage therapist. I am super picky being that I am a massage therapist, too. He went above and beyond to give me an amazing massage! I also booked the sauna for 30 minutes after the massage. It's a fantastic, large infrared sauna and gets you to a good sweat by the end of 30 mins. I also used their beautiful shower, which is large and can accommodate two people. I'm so happy I booked at Sweet Water. I don't live in the area, but if I did, I would be seeing Keith regularly. He's very detailed and strong. But also has a great sense of nuance. So, when I told him his elbow was a little deep on my upper back, he was able to adjust the pressure in the specific area without making the entire massage lighter. Seriously top-notch. Plus, my career has been in Forbes Five Star spas and Keith's demeanor is on par with what you would expect in a Five Star spa. read more

Massage was great - a bit different "style" of massage I thought and wife agreed when we talked after. Hard to explain but not like the massages back home - more relaxation than therapeutic. This is a completely different massage experience than any other places I've been (and I used to get massages monthly.) If you like deep tissue, the pressure is amazing. Of course they're also able to accommodate lighter pressures, it's just so hard to find a good deep tissue massage. All of the staff here is excellent. My husband and I have not yet had a masseuse here that wasn't exceptional. They also incorporate certain stretches depending on your problem area, and these stretches really do wonders. I was having shoulder pain and they got it to release from a locked position. I'm 8 months pregnant and this visit I got a prenatal massage from Keith. He was so kind and careful to make sure I was constantly comfortable, and adjusted the pressure based on how much my pregnant body could handle. It was so relaxing and helped with back pain I've been having for months. We live in Charleston, SC and will make the drive down to Savannah just for these massages. It's so worth it. I hate having to make a bad review, but I visited Sweet Water Spa yesterday with a group of 5 for a bachelorette party, and overall the experience was incredibly disappointing. The 5 of us booked 2 hours worth of treatment each, varying between manicures, facials, and massages. Personally, I selected a manicure and what should have been a one hour facial. My normal-polish manicure ended up taking an HOUR AND A HALF, and as you can see in the picture, my tech didn't even take off all of my previous nail polish, and the new polish was super uneven and messy. Another one of the girls was in the manicure room with me, and her technician spent the hour and a half just taking her gel polish OFF... Because these services took almost the whole two hours, those of us who started with manicures were able to switch from an hour facial to an "express facial." Unfortunately, it was AWFUL. I spent $60 on the WORST facial (that only lasted 15 minutes) of my life. My skin burned, the esthetician left so much product on my face, and she even commented after I took my mask off "oh, I probably should be using such and such products on you, but I already grabbed this other stuff, so it will probably work." When I washed my face with my own cleanser later that night, my face still burned so much, and is incredibly irritated now. The only reason they get two stars is because Keith, at the front desk, was super nice. Otherwise, would not recommend at all, especially if you need to be anywhere else that day... UPDATE - two days post facial and manicure. Almost every nail has chipped polish, and my entire face is so red and irritated and has broken out in super painful cystic acne. This spa is one of the best I have ever been to. When you arrive be sure to get in town a bit early because you have to find parking and walk to the location. Depending on the events going on downtown will depend on how hard that is for you. Once you get on Broughton Street it is easy to find because they have a sign outside and little notes showing you where to go. Once I arrived upstairs I was greeted by Keith who is really nice and will get you what you need to be comfortable. They will have you fill out a sheet of information for your visit. I was given a customized massage by Veronica who was really amazing. I asked for focus on my back and shoulders which is exactly what I received. The table is heated, pressure can be adjusted by asking and they used wet heated towels several times. The price was on point with the service. I asked about the military discount. They said they are working out the details for the military discount and a rewards program but they didn't have the option on the day I visited. I will definitely be back!
