Complimentary ice cream from lunch special.
    Kevin M.

Come here for the awesome lunch specials! My wife and I had come here to Satu for the first time and I wholeheartedly enjoyed it. The location is on the side of the business complex. And you will see thier sign driving up Azusa Ave. Parking is tight, but street parking is available. The location is very small with few tables inside and No public restroom. Don't let that discourage you from coming by because this was some really great Thai food. The customer service felt genuine and felt as if we were at home dining with family. The menu is very big with options and they are about to celebrate 10 years of business! They offer all of the traditional Thai dishes and now serve up Khao Soi. We opted for the lunch specials which is from 11:30am-2:30pm. I ordered the Pad See Ew and my wife the Green Curry. The food was ready in 5-10 minutes. You get a side salad and egg roll. We also received complimentary ice cream. Their Pad See Ew was tops! The flavors were all there and the presentation of it on a plate had the vibrant pop you want in a good Pad See Ew. Portions were great for a budget friendly lunch special. We felt very well taken care of the whole time. Great staff + great food = great experience! I wish we had been coming here sooner because their serve quality Thai cuisine. Can't wait to come back again. Please give them a try if you're craving some Thai! Thank you, Satu Thai Bistro! This was my go-to Thai spot back when I lived in Azusa, and I'm happy to say it hasn't changed at all. The food is just as good as I remembered, and the service was friendly (same person I remember from about 5 years ago, which was honestly nice to see.) It's a small shop with only about 4-5 tables, and there were tons of to-go and pickup orders while I was there, but I decided to dine in. What I ordered: Khao Soi - I saw this being advertised and had never tried it before, so I went for it. Super unique dish with a strong, creamy coconut flavor that wasn't overpowering at all. The noodles were great, and overall it was really comforting and delicious. Would 100% order again. (5/5) Pad See Ew (Shrimp) - A classic done well. Solid flavors, nothing too heavy, and very tasty overall. The shrimp were plump and fresh, which I appreciated. (4.5/5) I also asked about mango sticky rice, and they were honest and told me the mangos weren't fully ripe yet. I really appreciated that honesty. Instead, they gave me their complimentary cookies and cream ice cream, which ended up being really good too. There isn't much good Asian food in Azusa, so if you're living nearby, I'd definitely recommend this spot, it's one of the few reliable gems in the area. Parking: Small shared lot with neighboring businesses.

Our usual post RenFaire Thai restaurant was closed so we searched for another close by. After a bit of a closed restaurant goose chase, we came upon Satu and were delighted to find them. Very tiny but immaculately clean, Satu's wide menu and reasonable prices was a fantastic find in the middle of a city we don't usually frequent. Very friendly staff who came by several times just to refill the ubiquitous water pitchers and ask if we needed anything. We ordered the Khao Soi which was prominently featured on the second page of the menu. It was deliciously coconut milk creamy with both boiled and crunchy noodles. Also ordered the pad kee mao drunken noodles and the spicy eggplant dish, redolent with wok hei. All the dishes were delicious. I asked for mild spice and was glad to have done so because the spice level was pushing it for my dining companions. They said it felt more like medium though nobody was too spiced out but caveat emptor. We were surprised with three complimentary scoops of old school tricolored spumoni ice cream at the end. Lovely restaurant, highly recommended.

My son and I were out for dinner and yelp guided us here. The restaurant is small but, clean and nicely decorated. We came in around 8pm and I didn't have huge expectations since it was close to closing time. Our server was friendly and took our order immediately. We ordered a few items to try, as we always do. To start we ordered the garlic chicken wings and chicken satay. The glaze on the wings had phenomenal flavor and was super crispy. The satay chicken was perfectly cooked and paired well with the peanut sauce. I ordered yellow curry with chicken which was delicious. My son ordered the won ton soup and Satu fried rice which was also delicious. We were completely satisfied and will definitely come back. If you're in the mood for delicious Thai food, check them out! We also loved their Thai tea!

First time visiting (6/20) it take "A minute" to find the location (one way streets). Very welcoming customer service to a Quaint atmosphere, you can dine in, but a bit small. so we order to go: pa Nang curry, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles (I found a little dry). Overall it's pretty good, prices too. Glad we found this place. A slightly hidden gem in Azusa. Don't forget they will be closed 7/4-7/13.

It was my first time here tonight because I was craving some Thai food and found them. They are absolutely phenomenal. The food is some of the best Thai food I've had. They were quick and extremely kind. They accidentally forgot my side of sticky rice (would've been a bummer but not a big deal) and called quickly and since I was already almost home they delivered it instead. They also gave me a Thai tea when dropping it off. I was still able to enjoy my curry and sticky rice with my dinner. The service was beyond incredible. I will 100% be back!!! Thank you so much

Ordered takeout and dined here on two different occasions. First time trying was dine in. The interior is very small but there's enough seating for a few people. They also have outdoor seating. Customer service is pleasant from the staff. Fast table service and takeout service as well. Their yellow curry is phenomenal - a blend of spices and savory flavors, so darn awesome! One of the best Thai curries I've had. Their egg rolls are delish, rice cooked to perfection, and their Thai Ice Tea is the ideal level of sweet. Support small business and give this Thai spot a try!

Loved it here! We got the shrimp Pad sew, black pepper beef with a side of rice, black pepper chicken wings! Everything came back so quickly! Big portions and everything was cooked well! The service was amazing and they gave us a scoop of ice cream for free! Please support this buisness They also made great recommendations when we asked and everyone was so kind. The whole store was very clean too! P.s. My boyfriend loved the sliced peppers in vinegar that was provided on the side!

It's located in a mini shopping mall that is on the corner of Azuza and Sierra Madre. It was tight to park at 11:30 because of the many businesses that are crammed in that little corner: a liquor store, a pet groomer, a bakery, a Mexican restaurant and a teriyaki stand. Satu Thai Bistro has fresh potted herbs outside that they must use for their dishes and it looks like outside seating for when the weather warms up. The inside of the Bistro is charming with a few tables. Service is quick and efficient. The lunch specials are priced under $12. Brown rice is no extra charge and they also offer quinoa for an additional fee. The yellow and green curries are generously portioned. They are creamy, full of vegetables and our protein choice of chicken. At the end, they brought out little scoops of ice cream to enjoy!

Drunken noodle with chicken, oh so good! Thank you, Nim!

I'm not an expert at Thai food, nonetheless I'm going to venture the food here is more authentic than other places I've dined at. For example, sometimes I've had pad thai that was too sweet, that's not the issue here. I really want to see this place continue to be successful. Went close to 6:00 pm and there were plenty of parking spots available in a shared plaza. It wasn't busy at the time so I was able to get my order quickly. Everything was ready and packed when I got there! I appreciate that they put the peanuts in a separate container. For the order, I got the Pad Thai and the combo platter. The pad thai was on the sweeter side. I got my order with pork as the protein choice. I felt if a lime was provided, it would help balance out the flavors of the noodles. The peanut was kept in a separate container, which I appreciated. The platter consists of a variety of items from dumplings, egg rolls, cream cheese wonton, wonton, and shrimp tempura. The container had holes to allow for the steam to escape, so most of the items were still crispy. Nothing from the platter particularly stands out in taste, besides possibly cream cheese wonton. Overall, it felt like an okay option if you're in the area.

I always confine my order to either Pad Thai or Pad See Ew. On this SAT, the eve before Memorial Day, I ordered two plates of Chicken Pad Thai. The pluses? The minced peanuts sparkled, as did the proportion of slivered carrots, green scallions and bean sprouts to chicken was ideal. The tamarind based sauce was excellent. Minuses? That the sauce in my second order was more plentiful- The first order was noticeably dryer than its follow up one was. Interest captured by the vivid scents wafting from the kitchen and the mostly positive Yelp reviews, I boomeranged back 24 hrs later to place my maiden order. I went with Shanghai Egg Rolls and the Yang Chow Fried Rice, but I'd asked them to substitute more chicken and Chinese sausage for the shrimp, as your favorite Yelp correspondent has never enjoyed shrimp in any form other than cocktails. The staff is exceedingly nice!!! Owner/proprietor JOSEPH and his wife skate around as balls of determined energy, but with welcoming smiles affixed to their faces. The prices are pretty reasonable- My tab for a generous multi-protein entree and appetizer was $19.34 including taxes. But can we please have a conversation about the flavors? Couwami partisans! Tell me-- Did your faithful correspondent order the wrong items?! My Shanghai Egg Rolls were undercooked, limp and flaccid. The flavors were solid but the texture was so off-putting and uncharacteristic for a typical egg rolls, that I could barely get them down. The Yang Chow Fried Rice was also undercooked- I'm used to fried rice that has a toasted, beigy-yellow finish with chicken or pork cooked to at least medium to medium well doneness. My entree was, as the picture attest, a faint ivory hue and I actually hadta toss it in my skillet for five minutes to toast up the rice and finish cooking the tendrils of chicken, which were served medium rare, a micro-degree above pink but with the unpleasant mouth feel of sushi. Not exactly the way you'd expect your proteins to be prepared! I'm a huge believer in redemption. And judging by the hundreds of 4.2 level reviews on Yelp, I suppose its possible I just caught the cook on a bad night or ordered the WDT (Wrong Damn Thing)...twice! I'd normally accord two stars but will bump this up to three based on the utter civility and decency that Joseph and his staff extended to me.
