Looking for a quick meal before our flight, SATO Ramen showed up in my search. It's a tiny restaurant with about two tables and some counter seats. There is a form to fill out for your order and water is self service. You also go to the register to pay, so I wouldn't call this a full-service restaurant. It's super casual. We ordered three ramens - * Tonkotsu Ramen * Sato Ramen $16.99 * Sato Ramen (no bean sprouts) $16.99 The noodles were not great - they were clumped together. The egg was perfectly cooked though. The tonkotsu broth was not very smooth but the sato broth was better. They do offer a frequent diner card. Overall, SATO Ramen was just an okay experience for us. read more

I came back to this page to tell my friends about SATO and how they must go for some delicious vegan curry ramen. I was appalled to find that I had given SATO 4 stars instead of 5. SATO, I am so sorry. I absolutely adore them and beg my husband to go because I crave their vegan curry ramen. I am not vegan or vegetarian, but this is my go to over the meat broths. The flavor is excellent. Not too spicy but plenty flavorful. The tofu is excellent. I think the reason I gave it a 4 before was because I had gotten the chicken ramen and found it a bit bland for my taste. I always get extra noodles and it's very filling. I also enjoy their vegetable dumplings and spring rolls. This is my preferred location over elmwood. It is a little small inside so prepare for the possibility you might have to sit at one of the tables with other people. If you're craving ramen this is the place to go. But get the vegan curry ramen if you want a ramen packed with flavor! read more

We ordered two Sato ramen online and they were over spiced (too much pepper) that we couldn't taste anything other than pepper... When I went to pick up the order, I saw two customers left with almost the whole bowls of ramen untouched. Now I know why...They did give a lot of cha siu but the broth has ruined everything. read more

The food is absolutely on point every time we get food from here which keeps us coming back. My go to is the spicy ramen. So good. The dishes are well crafted and well priced for the portion you get. The service is always good. The only thing I would change is the dine in setup, the location is very small. Minimal places to sit and they're always pretty busy around dinner time, so if you're not showing up at the right time it can be an issue (we've gotten there and snagged a seat and within 5 minutes there's people turning around at the door due to no space). I most certainly don't have the qualification or skill to make these suggestions, although if the tables were reconfigured just slightly or a couple of things were moved around, you might be able to sit another 4-6 people and avoid this problem. Great place for ramen! They have limited seating area at this location and they don't accept reservations but everytime I've been there, I was able to find a spot to sit. Their vegetarian ramen is really good, but they only have 2 vegetarian-friendly options in their menu, I hope they add some more options. I went with their signature Sato Ramen noodles, iced matcha latte with cinnamon and Miso Caramel donuts. I was not a huge fan of the ramen to be honest, the soft boiled eggs were delicious! The broth was very good as well, but the flavors with the pickled ginger, and bean sprouts gave the ramen an all over strange taste to me. The iced matcha latte was delicious, not overly sweet but had a lot of cinnamon. The star of the show for me were the donuts, for someone who doesn't have much of a sweet tooth, these were a 10/10 for me! So good, over all very nicely done. Pork Dumplings 9/10 They give the option for pan fry or deep fry. I love that! I got them deep fried. They were great, super crispy, Coulda came out of the fryer a few seconds earlier. The pork inside had a good flavor and the dipping sauce was also good, but the combo was a bit salty together. Harumaki Spring Rolls 9/10 Gyoza sauce for dipping. Great crunch and fry on these. The filling also had a good flavor. Nice combo dipped in the gyoza sauce too. Tonkotsu Ramen 8/10 Added corn also. Not bad, but not what I was craving flavor wise. Tasted like a deep beef broth, or kinda reminded me of gravy for some reason. Pork was cooked good. Love that it was sliced so thin. The noodles definitely could have been cooked for another couple minutes, they were a little underdone. I also had a giant clump of noodles stuck together in my soup. The egg was cooked well. It was a little bit more runny than usual, but still good. I do wish there was soy sauce available to add a couple dashes. Spicy Miso Ramen 9/10 Really good flavorful broth, Spicy and salty. This place was okay was running some errands decided to stop on in. The star of the show was the fries which were an appetizer no doubt about it, I ended up having the pork ramen and I didn't feel like the broth had as much flavor as some of the ramen I've had other places personally. I also didn't like the fact that there wasn't any condiments to accompany this ramen besides saracha which as blah blah. Maybe our expectations were too high after this restaurant was recommended by some local friends. The service is friendly and the restaurant is beautiful. However, we found our ramen dishes to be attractive, but sadly lacking in flavor. My daughter had the spicy miso ramen and I had the sato ramen. I asked for the gluten free rice noodles but was given (and charged extra for) the shirataki noodles. I added the fried tofu, which was by far the best thing about the dish. My daughter said her ramen noodles were undercooked. The smallish restaurant was full on a Monday night, so it clearly has fans, but I wouldn't rush back. read more

We absolutely can't get enough of this spot! The tonkotsu broth is the way to go. We recently tried their special fries and were shocked by how good they are with the ginger especially. I made my own ramen this time, which did make it pricier, but it had everything I wanted and flavor was 10/10. The pan fried gyoza were also perfect. This place is so cute! I got the Tori Paitan Ramen and added bean sprouts, and my friend got the classic ramen, and we split the Spring rolls and Gyoza Pork Dumplings Plate. All were delicious! Topped it off with an Iced Matcha Latte which was divine. We sat at the little food bar area, had our food, good conversation, and even opened my laptop up for a couple of emails. Not sure if that was an oversight by the other employee, but I'm pretty sure the other employee charged us for a dessert we didn't get even though he said he didn't. $33 for a couple BYO Ramens we didn't add much to, and a couple sodas seems like a lot. The Raman itself was great. The soft boiled eggs are perfect. My son says he prefers the cheap overly salty heart attack in a bag you can make at home, but there's no accounting for taste. I've been here at least 20 times over the span of several years. Food never disappoints, flavors are amazing, the ambiance is great but seating is ridiculously limited to almost comedic levels. Service is pretty bare minimum. You order, you sit down, you wait as long as it takes, and food is received. Steer clear of the spicy miso ramen. The egg wasn't seasoned correctly and had a very weird taste. The beer on tap was served lukewarm. So today was my 1st time coming to Sato Ramen. Tbh i had higher expectations.... So anyway I had a black cherry soda, Curry Ramen with pork and some pan fried gyōza dumplings and some spring rolls. When I opened it what looked like smoke ish gas was coming out in a swirl The Curry Ramen... was very disappointing the taste reminded me of chicken noodle soup and I even had like steamed potatoes, corn, and carrot in it along with some green onion etc. It was not spicy so I was sad the flavor was not there. I had to add Sriracha sauce that was on the table for it to be spicy but it still doesn't make up for the Curry flavor. also the pork was dry and it didn't absorb the broth . The boiled egg though was good The gyōza dumplings were very good but pricey. Excellent flavor already before even using the soy sauce. Nice and lightweight. The spring rolls were okay. To start, SATO had a very nice, casual aesthetic and I loved the music choices. Pay raise for whoever put that playlist together. Our server was extremely nice, and gave me the run down on how the restaurant works (basically they give you a paper to mark off what you want and theres a water cooler with cups). Okonomayaki fries were beautiful and tasted delicious. Fries were crisp and well seasoned and topped with goodies. My spicy miso ramen looked delicious but was so, so salty. There was no real flavor besides salt. And in typical Gen Z "i don't like any sort of confrontation" fashion I just dumped some of my water (almost a full cup) into the bowl and it was still soooo salty My nephrons were screaming. The only other time I've had ramen was in Anchorage, Alaska and their broth was also super salty so I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to be or if I just have bad luck with ramen places. I'm a ramen guy through and through. One of my favorite things to go eat. SATO ramen definitely is the best ramen in WNY. I've been to both locations, multiple times. The broth is great. The noodles... ehhhh, they are good by American standards. And given that this is not only America, but Buffalo NY, it's actually pretty dang good. Both locations are small. Prices are a tad on the high side, but they can charge higher because their product is better than any of the competitors.
