This is the perfect takeout sushi place for us. They have a lot of veggie roll choices that are delicious and inexpensive add-ons. The raw fish is firm and fresh! The prices are very reasonable. We have never once received an order with anything wrong or missing...and we've ordered a lot. There's a bunch of rolls here that I enjoy, but my favorites are the Spicy Salmon Crunchy Roll, Sweet Potato Roll and the Black Dragon Roll (which is roasted eel, avocado, crab salad, cucumber, sesame seeds and eel sauce). I love anything with that tasty eel sauce, which is also included on the Sweet Potato Roll! We didn't love the gyoza app. The seaweed salad is just what you're looking for, though. We'll have to try the other options soon. This isn't super precisely made sushi, but the fish is fresh...and that's what I care about most. The prices reflect what it is. Absolutely love it here! I cannot say enough about this place! My boyfriend stops in regularly for taro milk tea and they have fantastic lunch specials. We had a night out there this week and had ramen and sushi. Everything was spectacular. Some of the best rolls I've had in a long time. Plenty of street parking was available on a Wednesday afternoon. The shop is small, but has half a dozen cozy booths and a couple tables inside. There was only one server but service was prompt. I was disappointed they were out of honey lemonade, but the regular lemonade was just right: not too sweet, not too tart, very refreshing. A little overpriced, though. Food came out quickly, partly because the tempura salmon roll was not quite what I expected, but probably healthier and still tasty. The philly salmon roll was good as well. I like that they offer a lot of rolls with avocado and without cucumber. Most places overdo it on the cucumber. The beef Ramen tasted , not good. The meat was over cooked , And it was such a small portion for $13.99 . The lunch special is the best deal you will find in Buffalo. The food is prepared fresh and has been very consistent every visit. Always high quality. Solid sushi take out during dinner hours, $6-10 per roll. Definitely satisfies the sushi craving. They have a twist on a couple of rolls by adding coconut to it. While it was good to try, I prefer the original versions. Another review mentioned "mushy" rice but I did not notice this during my 2 visits. I also tried the wings but I prefer for them to by crispier. Extremely easy pick up, typically ~15-20 min from the time you call. It's been a while since a sushi roll really wowed me -I've tried almost every kind Buffalo has to offer and I certainly have my favorites- but I've just added the coconut tempura shrimp roll from Buffalo sushi express to that list. It is so tasty! My salmon and tuna sashimi was also very fresh and fair priced, in my opinion. The green roll was a nice change of pace from the traditional veggie rolls, with lots of crunchy veggies and seaweed salad on top. I eat sushi almost every day, today I wanted to give this place a shot because it's right near my house. Unfortunately I won't be back unless I see better reviews for them in the future. The menu is very limited. No Yellowtail, no surf clam, no octopus. I think there were like 6 options for sashimi's. The sushi wasn't great at all, the rice was way too mushy. I'd compare it to the TOPS(the supermarket) sushi.....yes I tried theirs once lol xP The man who served me was very friendly and looked happy to serve me and I really appreciate his positive attitude, but he got my order wrong and I was the only customer in there :( I asked for spicy salmon roll and was given spicy tuna :( I don't even like tuna so it was hard to force myself to eat especially with the mushy rice. Only other positive note I can make is that the prices were reasonable, but you get what you pay for. I've driven past, seen the sign, but had yet to catch them open. Then as I was browsing GrubHub tonight, they popped up and decided to give them a try. Obviously I ordered delivery so I have no idea what it's like inside. This review is just for the food. Note: the delivery fee on GrubHub was pretty low. Their menu includes sushi with rice, sashimi, classic rolls, maki rolls, sushi combos, and a few special rolls. They also have sushi party trays. In addition to sushi they have some appetizers, soups, Japanese fried rice, Japanese Ramen noodles, and bento boxes. I ordered two classic rolls, the Philly Crab and the Spicy Tuna. First time ordering from BSE and I was pleasantly surprised to have both nice food and an easy delivery experience through UberEats. Celebrating after a disastrous meal the night before at El Ranchito, I ordered a Black Dragon Roll (very good), Eel Bento (interesting variety in the box) and a California Roll (this was OK). The packaging was delightful and secure - no leakage - and the bento came with miso soup. My favorite was the Black Dragon Roll. The bento box contained a salad, rice, another California Roll (which, if I had known, I would have ordered a different extra roll), 6 slices of eel on a bed of seaweed salad. Bento boxes are different at every restaurant, though generally I've had the protein, a salad, dumplings and rice. Maybe tempura vegetables. Given how stingy they were with the eel, everything tasted good, but I might have selected a different combo to up the food value because they put in a lot of rice to go with such a small portion of protein. It also would have helped if the online menu listed what was in the bento box so I could have made a better choice. (No photos on UberEats unlike Yelp). Delivery was smooth. My food arrived early - and the miso soup was still nice and warm with a large portion of seaweed added to the flavor. Overall, BSE surprised me. I've never been to them before - my old favorites have been Fuji Grill and Teton - but it's nice to try new places and support other businesses. read more

My husband and I ordered through Grubhub despite the bad ratings on Yelp, there were very few who rated, and it is edible food, but not good by any means. I got the steak bento box, but the steak was burned and dry, dressing for the salad tasted like mayonnaise, and the rice is dry and bland. My husband got the chicken bento box and his chicken had zero flavors and he said the rice was dry and bland and the salad tasted like mayonnaise. The Miso soup was bland as well and the sushi was ok (Wegmans does just as good). If we were sitting down inside of the restaurant, we would have sent the food back after the first bite. Also, they did not give any sauces at all for the sushi or yummy sauce for the meats. I ordered the spicy beef Japanese Ramen noodles, and the orange chicken wings. The orange chicken wings were both beautifully packaged and succulent and delicious. Ordered during COVID, not all that many sushi options right now and the ones that are open are pretty pricey. I noticed the rolls here were very reasonably priced. We got 4 rolls for $26!! Most were $6 or $7 per classic roll, they also had a couple fancier rolls for $9 or $10 each, I loved that 2 people could eat and be full for dinner for under $30. All the sushi was good, the shrimp tempura roll was the standout. I asked for a side of eel sauce and they gave it to me a gratis which was nice of them. They also had packets of soy sauce and chopsticks ready to go in the bag. I just called in my order and picked it up (you just walk in and pick up like a pizza place, it's not curbside pick up but it works more efficiently so there's no confusion of orders). Service wise they were super friendly and fast! I've eaten asian food my whole life and I believe i know the difference from poor and amazing dishes. I started off by trying their miso and mushroom soups and the soup were made fresh and tasted good. The tofu, broth, and greens were cooked perfectly in my opinion. Since the soups were good and very affordable(1.99) and had alot in it I figured i would go ahead and order something substantial. I know they're mainly a sushi place but i went ahead ordered their Chicker Rice Bowl. The rice bowl was so good that i went back 2 days later to try their shrimp bowl. It was not a one hit wonder! The rice tasted like it was made fresh, which is rare at most asian inspired restaurants. The vegatables were fresh as well and very well seasoned. It wasn't drenched in soy sauce and other seasonings like most places do. I could tell that their meet was also very high quality as well. The meal as a whole was an A+.
