Kumo Sushi has some of the freshest fish I've had in Western New York. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh, and the sushi was absolutely delicious. The presentation was beautiful too every plate looked like a work of art. Sorry, no pictures this time... I was way too excited to start eating! One thing to know before you go: if you want ginger or wasabi, you'll need to ask for it since it doesn't automatically come with your sushi. This is where my son decided he wanted to go for his 29th birthday dinner. We've never been here before and it's close by our house so I figured why not ? It has a very, very small parking lot, which is pretty inconvenient. I had to park all the way down the street. We approached the restaurant and it looks so cute from outside with that big lucky cat. I don't know the names of these things so don't laugh at me, lol. We get inside. It's quite small inside. Also, they have a big cage that people can sit in only one though, and I wanted to sit in there, but it was already occupied by a family. The decorations are cute, but they don't have very many at least not on the side that we sat. We sat to the right when you walk in the door. The menus look like you're opening up a humongous encyclopedia or an almanac but there aren't that many pages in there so don't let it fool you. They have lots of different types of sushi, Japanese food, Chinese food, etc. My son got a salmon roll and a caterpillar which he said was amazing. I got General Tzo's chicken , which was much better than any Chinese place I've ever had it from. This was the real deal. But first I had pork eggroll and it was so good. They served it cut in half with duck sauce all over it and it was so good that way I loved it. Then I ordered a nice size bowl of pork lo mein. That was the best lo mein I have ever had in my life. It was absolutely delicious. My son tried some the next day and said that that was the best lo mein he's ever had. The employees were nice. Took a while for our food to come, but that was OK. We weren't in a rush. I ordered a Diet Coke and it seems that all Japanese and Chinese places that I go to lately they only give you cans of pop which seems weird to me, but whatever ! And this seems like a higher end type restaurant too. It's not a cheap little restaurant. This is a pretty pricey place, but like I said, it is delicious. I highly recommend going there and eating. This was the first time in here. They were wonderful!! The place is quaint, the sushi bar is very nice and clean when u walk in the door and the hostess was super friendly. Theh have a very cute outdoor patio too when the weather is good. Our waitress was super nice and the food was so good!!! They had gluten free options and I had no problem eating here and they understood when I said I need to eat gluten free. Everyone was super friendly. The people at the next table apparently ate there all the time as they knew the staff well and were raving to a friend that was with them. I can see why!!! Will definitely go back! Go!! Had a great experience here yesterday for an early dinner. There were three of us - I got the lobster roll, my brother an egg roll and chicken with garlic sauce and hubby got shrimp pad Thai. I can't say enough about how everything was fresh and delicious. The server was super friendly and accommodating and the ambiance is peaceful and fun. Oh and the chairs are super comfortable! This will be my go to for sushi, and all things Asian fusion. They offer takeout as well. read more

Kumo Asian Cuisine's second location is the place to be right now. It was a very busy Friday evening. We reserved a table, and got one by the men's restroom and the side entrance. Surprisingly, it didn't bother me too much. Next time, I'll ask for a seat in the main dining room or even at the sushi bar if it's just the two of us. I'd like to experience the place from different angles. Our very kind and polite server gave us plenty of time and space from the beginning. We had an opportunity to chat while perusing the menu and felt very welcome. It's a lovely restaurant, very new and clean. We ordered drinks, Riesling, Sapporo and Soju. The actual printed menu is simply beautiful and... heavy :). I truly had a problem making choices. Finally, painfully, because I wanted to eat everything that they offer, I decided on Sashimi Deluxe. I wasn't sure I could eat 18 pieces of raw fish, but that was exactly what I was craving for. Note: The difference between Sashimi Regular and Sashimi Deluxe is that Sashimi Regular contains 15 pieces of sashimi (not 18 as in the menu, it's a typo), while Sashimi Deluxe contains 18 pieces of sashimi. My order was screwed up. Besides Sashimi Deluxe I got Tricolor Sashimi. The worst part was having to explain why it wasn't my order. It should have been obvious. Yes, I only ordered raw fish. After a brief discussion between our server and the sushi chef, he finally admitted he'd made a mistake by offering to exchange what was already in front of me for what I actually wanted. He was very apologetic. There were three of us and it wasn't worth delaying our meal, especially since the Tricolor Sashimi looked absolutely delicious. I had to strongly express myself that I'm fine with what I got. My companions also ordered Rock Shrimp Tempura, Tamago Sushi, Spiderman Roll, and Sushi Deluxe (... or maybe Sushi Deluxe was a "mistake" and I ate my friend's Tricolor Sashimi? ... what a mess :). The Sushi Bar Main Entrees come with miso soup or salad. The miso soup was good, but we weren't excited about the shrimp appetizer. After trying the Superman Roll, which was generally very tasty, I remembered that I am not a huge fan of Kumo's spicy tuna. Anyway, we had a very nice time, but no one asked us throughout our stay if we wanted more drinks or dessert. At some point, the host simply brought the bill. The two of us paid by card, and I gave him cash. After returning from the ladies' room, I noticed I was overcharged. He must have simply mixed up who, what, etc. It wasn't a big deal, but it still shouldn't have happened. His priority should have been to take care of everything properly, that's all. read more

This is a very nice clean restaurant. Located in the late Marrotto's Restaurant and Clam Bar on Delaware Avenue near Sheridan Drive. I used love sitting outside at the clam bar, but that's another story. Food is of high-quality, even though their sushi seems to be cut narrower than most restaurants, but I found it fresh. Great new place in Kenmore! They have a huge sushi menu, and several non-sushi options too. I tried three appetizers: gyoza, crab and cream cheese "ravioli" (not sure why they don't call them rangoons?), and chicken katsu. All were good, pretty solid four stars. I can't say it compares to food in Japan, but it's good. Staff was all super friendly and attentive, and even brought me a cold glass of water while I waited for my takeout order. There is a sushi bar you can sit at, a large room with regular tables, and a small outdoor patio with seating. I know getting takeout can be tough, but last night we ordered and it was just bad. Chicken fried rice wasn't even fried. Basically steamed rice with rubbery chicken and no flavor. Shrimp Tempura had two pieces of soggy barely cooked shrimp and a bunch of oversized tempura veggies that were not even cooked through. I would go to the restaurant and give it another shot, but will save the money on take out from now on. read more
