It's been a few years since I last visited Chin Hills, and that's a shame. It's even better than I remembered. The service, ambiance and food are top notch. I had a craving for those rice cakes in sauce and that's what I ordered. It hit the spot - I could eat that dish often. The tea leaf salad is one of the best I've tasted in the city. I understand the chef is Burmese but they prepare some killer Korean food.

We had the Korean food, my wife's favorite. Things were a bit slow over the lunch hour, including the service. But all in all it was a lovely visit. The Korean food is top notch, and authentic, from the kimchi to the side dishes and the jajangmyeon. Highly recommend.

The restaurant is easy to driveby and lacks any draw. It sits within a small strip plaza of Asian restaurants and market. Inside there are quite a few tables and there were a handful of guests eating in. The cuisine is Korean and Burmese and the decor was Asian influenced with colorful string lights surrounding the room. We over ordered because everything sounded amazing and there were plenty of unique options we wanted to try. We are already planning to go back for lunch to try more dishes, especially because their lunch menu options were perfect. We started with a few appetizers: firecracker shrimp, spring rolls, and kimchi jun which is an egg based pancake with scallions and kimchi. Then we shared a Lahphet Thoke salad, which was cole slaw style Burmese pickles tea leaf tossed with crispy beans, peanut, sesame seeds, garlic, cabbages, onions, and tomatoes. First up for the main dish was the Korean BBQ combo platter with Angus Beef short rib, ribeye, chicken, and spicy pork. The short rib was a hit, as was the spicy pork. All very well seasoned and marinated. We ordered the hotstone jaeyok, which is spicy pork, rice, and fried egg. It was served surrounded by a sampling of all different side dishes that we honestly didn't quite know what they were...pickled cucumbers, fried seasoned potatoes, kimchi, a bean curd, a curry sauce, and vinegar brocolli. Kids are on a ramen kick, so the chicken ramen with kimchi, veggies, and egg was a must. We ended up wrapping up the pad see ew dish to go, so I'm excited for lunch tomorrow! Service wasn't anything special. He took your order and delivered the meal. We had to flag and ask for water refills, there was no small talk or inquiry on the meal. But, with how amazing the food was....Maybe he's confident enough in knowing we had no concerns!

This place is the real deal!! We spent three years in Korea and have been looking for the OG flavors and this is it! Everything was spot on perfect. Jjapche was a smidge greasy but it's stir fry noodles so no complaints especially when the vegetables were so crisp and fresh. Spent $38 on everything here and will ABSOLUTELY be back!! !!

The lunch here is one of the best lunch specials in Buffalo. All of this pictured was $12. It's spectacular food and such a good value. Highly recommend giving them your business! Lots of low-gluten and vegetarian options here

Don't let the exterior dissuade you from coming here to eat. The food is pure perfection. We spent under $40 for tofu pad Thai, kimchi fried rice, fried Mandu, and vegetable Kim bap. It was so good!! We were so happy to find this place and them actually being open. We called in to place our pick up order and it was ready in about 30 min.

I've been here once but never had the chance to review it. Came in recently because I was craving Korean food. The gentleman taking care of us was attentive and friendly! Ordered a seafood pancake, Migoreng (Indonesian stir fried noodles) and chicken japchae. Everything was delicious! Portions were also huge for the price. The food also came with banchan which are small side dishes that come with your food. This included odeng (fish cake), kimchi, potato, broccoli, and cucumber. I recommend this place and would come back! The restaurant was empty when I came and they're doing great with social distancing the tables.

Food is very flavorful, affordable, and plentiful. The service was great given it was busy. I love the cozy ambiance.

To put it simply, a thousand times yes. I had such a great time eating out here. The prices are very fair and the food was delicious. We got two appetizers, and both were fantastic. For dinner, I chose bibimbap dolsot and I have been craving it ever since I had it. Easily my favorite Korean place in the Buffalo area.

We ordered too much food for 2 people so we end up packed the rest to go. Samgaetang: The portion is big. They put sweet rice (sticky rice) and jujubes inside the chicken. It's really good comfort food with white rice specially if you are sick. Seafood pancake: Crispy and cost-effective. Budae hotpot: The portion is not big as I expected. The pot was wide but shallow. It's a little bit pricy with the amount of food. The service was good. The area next to the window were dusty and I saw some dead bugs there. We were sitting right next to the window so I was kind of losing my appetite. I hope that they'll notice this issue because it's easy to fix.

Family owned Korean - Burmese Korean restaurant. The place is a bit run down and when you walk in you step on a very stick mat which gave me a negative impression. However, once I sat down and tasted the food it was worth it. Too bad we missed the lunch specials but it was perfect. The tofu stew had a lot of flavor while the bimbimpap was just perfectly cooked with seasoning. The pad see ew was delicious. Just everything was so good and I would revisit this place.

    Is Chin Hills BYOB?

Yes indeed! We came in with a six pack and some roadies. We asked the waiter if that was cool, he nodded (and added $5 to his tip!). The food is so good that I've been 6 times in the last 3 months.

Besides food trucks and tourist traps like the Rainforest Cafe, there weren't many options to choose from, especially within walking distance. We gravitate towards Asian food, so despite the low-ish reviews we decided to stop in since it was one of the only options nearby. Pyung Taik is cash only and closes relatively early at 7PM, so go early! We stopped in around 6:00PM and that was more than enough time to order, eat, and pay. It is a very humble establishment with minimal decor, seating, and not too many menu options; however, they have all of the classics and everything we ordered tasted wonderfully homemade. We ordered the seafood pancake, hot stone bibimbap, soft tofu soup, and bulgogi hot pot. All were pretty good, especially the seafood pancake and soft tofu soup--really flavorful and much better than the average Korean homestyle restaurant! Everything comes with banchan as well, and the owner often came by to ask if we wanted refills. Price was a bit higher than other local options, but I'd say compared to other places that were open at the moment and quality, it wasn't bad at all. Most dishes ranged from $12-20 USD, with the larger portion options around $30-40 (probably able to feed 3-4 people). I hope more people stop in to support! Seems like a lovely small business in an otherwise _sparse_ food area.

Technically they had one left and we let our friend have it, but close enough. We ordered the galbi again. The meat is still very good, and probably the best thing about the restaurant. If I were only rating the galbi, it would be a 5. However, I had issues with both the banchan and the tea this year, and very slow service. The tea we got served first was barely tea. We couldn't tell by looking at it if it had ever seen a tea bag or just waved at one in passing, and due to the unfortunate language barrier, it was hard to explain to the server what the problem was. I like my tea strong, but at least to be able to see it and taste it. She eventually brought us more, and it was still fairly weak but this time there was a tea bag in there so we let it steep awhile. What it was though was nuclear heat wise; even after letting it steep awhile I burned my tongue. Yikes. The banchan were very lackluster. The cabbage kimchi was very standard but not standout, but the others ranged from mediocre to blah. There were underseasoned cucumbers, lightly boiled broccoli with a drizzle of (I kid you not) thousand island dressing, and mostly tasteless black beans. No radish, bean sprouts, fish cake, seaweed or other staple banchan. When we arrived, it was 5:30 pm and no other customers were present. Despite that, it took several minutes for them to come out of the back to greet us, and after we ordered a very long time to get food and tea (which we had to return...) As someone who lives in an area with plentiful Korean food, and who has learned to cook a lot of it in recent years, aside from the galbi it really was just "ok" and will probably fall out of our rotation when visiting the area.

The inside is very cute, but small. They only had one wait staff for all their tables so poor girl was running all over the place. I hope they add another wait staff. The jjajangmyeon sauce was full of meat, but it had water pooling at the bottom of the bowl so the noodles hadn't been drained properly. The bossam...was the most disappointing of all. The meat was had no flavor at all and the stir-fried kimchi was missing something. The pork bone stew was probably the best dish out of everything we ordered.
