I recently discovered this place and am really glad to have a solid ramen place in Arvada. I was impressed with the ramen. We got a Tonkatsu and a Shoyu ramen, both traditional classics. Overall, everything was executed great. The broth on the Tonkatsu was rich and flavorful, as a true Tonkatsu should be. I usually find Shoyu broth to be quite one dimensional at other places I've tried but I was surprised that it had a deep flavors profile here. The noodles were chewy, just the way I like it. The pork slices were very tender and not dry at all. It was definitely worth my trip and considering that I live pretty close, I'll definitely be back for more. I didn't give this a 5 star because there are room for improvement. It's a small operation, seems like a family-run restaurant which is great, we need to support families. But because of that, when they are busy the service can be a bit slower. I still got my food within a very reasonable amount of time. The interior is quite small, only seats a few tables but it has a nice cozy atmosphere. read more

My fiancé and I ate here on Sunday because I saw it while passing by. It's 15 minutes away from where we live, so we had to try it because all of the ramen restaurants seem to be located 30+ minutes away! The photos of the fried chicken from other Yelpers looked scrumptious, and finally eating them satisfied my craving for some simple, crispy, fried chicken! They add some kind of chili flakes on them to give them a nice spice, but it's not very spicy at all. We squeezed the lemon over all of the chicken which gave it a little zest. SO GOOD! Maybe next time we will ask for the Japanese mayo like another review had suggested. I had the Tonkatsu Ramen with Chashu, and I requested it spicy with black garlic. FYI, black garlic is $1.00 more! But it was all worth it!!! The broth was flavorful and rich. I couldn't stop eating the noodles which had soaked up the broth nicely, giving them a delicious flavor, as well! I was incredibly full at the end. My fiancé had the Chicken Yakisoba which was good but a little too salty. He thought it needed a little sweetness, since Yakisoba sauce should have some sweetness. He had to drink 3 glasses of water to wash down his food, unfortunately, but he still enjoyed its flavor. They could tweak their Yakisoba sauce a bit to not be so salty! This is the reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars. However, the saltiness of the Yakisoba will not steer us away! The service was prompt and the waitress was kind. This is a perfect example of how NOT to do ramen. Like that hot girl in school that you finally conned into the sack only to find out she just lays there like a dead rabbit. The bowls looked great but didn't have much to offer in taste, flavor or texture. Garnished with the requisite nori, pickled ginger and "fungus" as it was listed on the menu, nothing was going to save this meal from the edge of blandness. Noodles where tender but ZERO flavor or body to back it up. The broth in both bowls bordered on dirty water again with no flavor or depth, even the tonkotsu was more akin to Campbell's chicken soup than anything Asian I've had. Garlic was offered and added little help to the dismal dashi coagulating in front of me. The only saving grace of this meal was the pork belly, tender, somewhat bbq in flavor and good in size. A bowl of ramen should warm the soul as well as the belly and fill it with all the good little things we love about ramen. This was a breakup over text with pictures of your new ex and the other person smiling on a Ferris wheel on 4th of July weekend. We tried some apps only to be let down in that department as well. We asked if the app dishes were made in house or pulled from a box (which has happened more than once before) and we were offered one of the nastiest glares since my mom saw my first tattoo. This is my favorite Ramen place in all of Denver Metro. The broth is amazing and their marinated eggs are to die for. It's far away from me nowadays, since I have moved to the other side of town. But I've been known to drive 30 minutes to get here if I'm serious about the Ramen. It's a small place and seems family owned. Wish I could do a 3.5!!! I was doing some grocery shopping at Sprouts last week and this place caught my eye. The fam bam and I love ramen and have been wanting to try it ever since we noticed it. Came in tonight and things were pretty poppin'! Nice to see a new business filled with people. We were greeted immediately and also sat right away. Decor is super simple yet really nice. Menu is simple -- a handful of rice dishes, ramen, some apps, soft drinks, boba, yet no beer or wine. Bummer!!! That might change but who knows. Our daughter wanted noodles so I went with a tonkatsu ramen and the wifee got a miso ramen. Before that, we ordered the JFC as an app. JFC came out fairly quick and it was a decent portion for the price. It was accompanied with a wedge of lemon on a bed of shredded cabbage and no....dipping sauce? I thought that was strange. Our daughter started tearing into the JFC but I wanted sauce. Flagged down a server and asked about a dipping sauce. He seemed confused. He asked and eventually brought out some Japanese mayo. I mixed that with some chili garlic sauce and there was sauce! Ramen came out shortly. Tasted both broths and....mmmmm...not too shabby BUT for $12, it was skimpy and definitely lacking. My wife felt the same way. Because I split some of my bowl with my almost three year old, I didn't leave on a full stomach. Definitely would love to give this joint another try, just not sure when. This is the first ramen place that did not stuff the bowl with bamboo shoots and bean sprouts. They actually fill you up on noodles. Both the curry and miss ramen were great and very flavorful. You get the choice of kakuni or chashu (braised pork belly or braised pork) with your ramen. I tried both and prefer the chashu. If you like garlic, I highly recommend paying the extra dollar and get the black garlic. It's so good. read more

Reason for my 2-star rating is that the servers sit at one of the tables in the dining area and are on their phones. This is unprofessional and the service is lacking. I feel that they should be more attentive. The restaurant is on the small side so it shouldn't be hard to be more service focused. Greet people as they walk in. This place looks so unassuming from the outside. Nestled in a Sprouts strip mall, but the food is anything but unassuming. Edamame and gyoza all pretty much tastes the same no matter where you go so that was good. The entrees are where this place shines. The ramen was so fragrant from the black garlic and the taste was explosive. That was definitely some of the best ramen I've ever had. The Yaki soba had the perfect amount of flavor. Overall it was an okay little ramen spot. I'm giving 3 stars because I'm expecting more for an authentic Japanese restaurant. I ordered Tonkotsu ramen and husband a beef rice bowl. He enjoyed his meal, and while my ramen wasn't bad at all, it's not as good as the other reviews stated IMO. The egg wasn't soft boiled, it was quite hard actually, looked like it was cooked overnight. The chasu was really good, you can taste the char. Broth was creamy but not the best I had. Bamboo shoots I can tell it was rehydrated, those you buy cheap from a bulk store. Not fresh. Overall good but not worth the price. The services was only okay, though that could be a cultural differences. The waiter/host was fast and efficient, but couldn't tell my husband what's in the fried noodles. She just said vegetables. My husband had to ask what vegetables, she just said carrots. Either she didn't know or didn't want to explain? Not sure if I'd go back again. read more

I had the Miso Ramen without pork. The soup was delicious, especially with the spicy black garlic addition. The amount of soup is perfect to hit the spot when you're super hungry. We went at a very busy time but they were turning tables pretty quickly it seemed. Once we sat down and ordered our food, it definitely took a long time for the food to come. The fried chicken has a thick crispy batter which was actually very good keeping in mind that it's not "karaage" you might normally ordered elsewhere. The Taro Boba was delicious! Now the ramen - Tonkotsu with garlic and medium spice and Miso with black garlic and hot spice level. The black garlic was an amazing addition to the broth and I loved it! Broth and noodles were absolutely fantastic. I was a bit sad about the meat - the chasu in the tonkotsu was much better than the pork belly in the miso ramen. The Chashu was a little underwhelming, as it was very tough. The noodles had a nice bite to them. The biggest thing this place is missing is fish cakes/naruto. It was the most excellent tasting ramen I've had, however, it seemed to cause myself and children some burping issues. I had Tonka, they had Shoyu. Their servings were more than generous and for my 10 year olds, way too much. Honestly too much for myself especially with the burping. Our tummies are fine but we found that extremely odd. I would've never suspected that this place would have been any good given the location and it's shopping center exterior, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The interior was very modern and clean. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because the waitress was rude when I asked for a recommendation between the curry ramen and the oyakodon rice plate. She insisted that all the menu items are good and kept reinstating that one has rice and one has noodles without answering my question of which one was better in her opinion. I settled on the oyakodon and seaweed salad with no help from her, and thankfully it was amazing. Definitely recommend giving it a try, just don't expect amazing service. read more

The drinks are nice and a wide variety which allows people to pick about anything. The service is nice, considering the staff seems to only be 3-4 people, they're efficient and kind. The main lady does her best packing, taking and cleaning up all by herself because I assume maybe a language boundary. She's very kind and her service is lovely. The stores ambiance is peaceful and chatty. Everything always seems to be in their own world and in a good mood. I see a lot of people talk about the wait, but considering the space and how many workers they have, I can understand. Especially because you can't just force a customer to leave. The ramen here wasn't the worst. The Tonkotsu broth didn't have much depth to it. It seemed to taste more like a Pork & Chicken Bone broth with a bit more Chicken than Pork. The flavor of the Tonkotsu broth was just okay and was not something that had me wanting to come back. The miso was where I was a bit more thrown off. There was some sort of spice that I could not pinpoint that did not belong in miso ramen. Also, not sure if i took a bite of Yuzu or some sort of citrus fruit that may have been cooked with the Chashu. I've been dying to have some vegan ramen and this place really delivered!! They have two whole vegan options, which is exciting for me at least, and I tried the miso vegan ramen!! It came with lots of tofu, noodles, nori, and some tasty slabs of soy meat (more appetizing than my description I swear). It was so filling and delicious!!!
