Lynn & Kim were the most accommodating, patient, and sweet people ever. They are so empathetic and passionate. This is the kind of small business people should be supporting. I checked out this place for the first time and the ladies here were so nice! My friend and I made appointments for mani & pedis and we both agreed that we had some of our best salon massages here. Not gonna lie, I came into the salon with some janky self-done gel nails that I tried removing at home and it was looking rough lmao. Lynn got me right tho and even added little charms that were so cute!! I will definitely be back. read more

I came here on a Tuesday around 12pm with my sisters and cousin and had a pretty good experience. The place itself is a bit hard to find. You have to park in the lot but the actual shop is towards the left facing the street. If you go towards the gun shop it's in the same building as that store but on the sidewalk. We all wanted to get gel manicures and pedicures and the ladies here are very kind and accommodating. They gave us some free snacks and drinks too! Overall, we had a very nice experience. There's a lot of colors to choose from and the ladies who worked on us, Lynn, Leslie and Mai were all very nice and patient. They are very good listening to what you want with your nails. Lynn also gave us each one free decorated nail which we got to choose from a large set of stickers. They made our feet look beautiful for the pedicure so I would say they're very good at their jobs. The prices are fair, we paid $67 each person for our mani and pedi (both gel)! The downside is that the interior didn't look like the images on yelp so they can do some work there to update the photos to match customer's expectations. It was also a bit hard to communicate which colors we wanted because the numbers on the swatch books didn't match what the ladies where looking for so communication could be improved there. They do have a lot of cute colors though! Overall, I liked coming here and I am happy with my nails! It's a super great place for a basic gel mani and pedi. BRING CASH TO TIP and to pay if you can! Made an appointment for two pedicures and had no issues with rescheduling it to a later time in the day as my boyfriend and I were running late. This place was a little confusing to locate at first because their signage isn't the most visible from the road and it's located in a rather sketchy looking lot. (Gun exchange right next door) Nonetheless, stepping inside their salon helps forget the dreary surroundings. Don't judge a book by its' cover. Inside is a very clean and modern interior which was decorated pleasantly for the holidays with red Santa "hats" on the manicure chairs and a white Christmas tree complete with presents beneath it. The ladies were all very nice and it was fairly empty upon our arrival, with one lady finishing up a manicure on a client. Boyfriend and I were offered mimosas, orange and guava so we ended up choosing. A Hallmark-esque movie was playing on their TV and was conveniently directly across from the pedicure chairs. They have a small section of colors available too look at on the wall upon entry but they hand you a color palette where the rest of their selection is available. Onto the pedicure, they offered each of us a menu to choose from which kind of pedicure service we'd like. Their pedicure prices are a tad higher than what I'm accustomed to seeing, this from a New Yorker. Base pedicures over in my part of the country start at $15, Sassy Nail Bar's base begins at $20 but includes a foot scrub and massage so I assume that's where the extra five bucks are taken into account. Not a major deal breaker, just note that pedicures begin at $20. Their pedicure stations include real arm chairs which are cozy but not my preferred kind of set up. I'd rather the chair be attached to the tub rather than sliding around when trying to get in and out of the chair. My personal preferences aside, their chairs ARE comfortable and appeared clean and fresh with no detectable odors. The tubs are lined with plastic for sanitary purposes. My pedicurist was very soft spoken so it was hard to hear her at times. But she was very nice and took care of my feet. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our pedicures very much. He enjoyed the sugar scrub immensely. The environment is quite relaxing and I was left to dry on the chair for about 15 minutes after my pedicure was over. My pedicurist came back and sprayed my toes and I felt a bit ushered out of the door because I was not fully confident that my toenails were dry enough. That's my only negative about this place. They were empty and I don't recall seeing a drying station so I wish I was allowed to stay a little longer. Although, I suppose I could've just asked but with us being the only customers, it kind of felt awkward? Anyway, not a big deal, I still thoroughly enjoyed my first experience. Unfortunately, I can't speak about their other services as I'm only visiting San Jose but if and when I do find myself in the area, I'm more than comfortable returning here for any nail pampering I might require. I recommend checking them out- and treat yourself to a relaxing pedicure if nothing else! read more

As many have said, don't judge a book by it's cover. I had done thorough research in finding a nail spa decent for my friend who prefers Santana Row and I do not...very clean and cute inside, Tiffany-esque with the colors. Greeted with options of water, tea, and mimosas, with cute jars and striped paper straws. Although I like the chair and bowl for the pedi, you do need some good cushions to support your back or you're easily slouching like me. Plenty of colors to choose from for regular polish to gel, and appreciated that. The employees are very thorough with their work on the customer and take their time. Another plus is the great cheesy rom coms that are on the TV to help pass the time! Parking is plenty but tight here. Would recommend Linh for your manicure, and she is also super responsive when trying to make an appointment as well! read more

I've been to Sassy Nail Bar for a total of four times now and finally had the chance to post a review. I usually do not get my nails done since I prefer to do them myself. However, I do like getting them done for special occasions or just when I feel like being "extra". My nail tech has been Tammy and she has been great. My nails always come out looking fabulous and I always get compliments on them. This place is really cute and clean, but located in an odd plaza. It was a bit hard for me to find the first time, but it's facing the street. P.S: They also offer water, iced tea, or mimosas in cute mason jars. Also, I recommend booking an appointment on Yelp since you'll get a response very quickly. :) read more

Best nail salon I EVER been too, Lin and Kim. There vary nice and vary good at what they do. Me and my daughter got are nails done, and and my daughter got a short french tip with a heart on the ring finger and they did so good. Myself got a white-pink ombre vary cute. They have affordable prices and they give the best work. Then after my daughter got her eyebrows done it wasent a whole lot of pain but the eyebrows were really cute at the end. They also do eyelashes i dident get my eyelashes but i heard they were really cute. Its vary quiet and peaceful, and vary relaxing. I would highly recommend this little spot for a quick and fun nail service experience! I walked in and was immediately accommodated for a dip powder manicure with accent nail art - in and out in about an hour. Came here on a Sunday afternoon with the sister. This was a bit hard to find, but if you're in the plaza with the Gun Exchange, you're in the right place. Sassy Nail Bar is located near there, but facing the street (Almaden). We were immediately seated and was offered a drink. My sister got iced tea, which was served in a very cute tumbler. We both got the bunny pedicure (basic pedicure w/ paraffin). Definitely what my feet needed! The color selection is small, but lots of pretty pastel colors, my fave. Quality is great and the workers are amazing. I was fortunate to have the same girl doing my gel manicure. They needed some TLC too. This place accepts cash and credit cards! Credit cards is a plus since most places that I go to are cash only (very annoying). You can also add tip to your credit card transaction! Side note: They were playing Ed Sheeran the whole time, which I loved! Def made the experience better! I'd definitely go back to Sassy Nail Bar! read more

SHADY BUSINESS STEER CLEAR: Called and made an appointment my girlfriend to get a gel manicure. I was told it would be $25. The lady did the manicure (which looked like a 4 year old painted her nails) finished up and said it would be $45 since she had to use "special" gel. Typically a business would tell you before they do the work it's going to be double the price not just hit you with a bill. Got home 4 hours later and one of the nails already fell off. Great "special gel". You might as well take $45 and flush it down the toilet. read more

If I could pick a word to describe their work here, it would be 'Meticulous'. I finally got a regular pedicure there because 1) my toes were in need and 2) I was about to take some engagement pictures, along with a gel manicure. Regular pedicure was $20 and gel was $25. Both were fantastic. As most times, I was offered iced tea, water, or a guava mimosa (extra snaps for it being guava!) and then began working on both services at the same time. For both services though, they paid full attention to detail and gave a GREAT leg massage. (It was fantastic!) Additionally, they also literally manicured my nails, surrounding skin, and cuticles, and applied the polish expertly so it not only was on just my nail, but to the edge of the sides (a lot of other places miss this)! They also shaped it perfectly and checked in several times to make sure I thought they looked okay. And even though I went alone, everyone was so friendly and we talked almost the entire time! And while the the salon is small, the place is very clean and cute and great for a girls day :) TIP: You can call or contact them over yelp for an appointment and they're pretty responsive for the most part. read more

Update: so here's the thing customer service is huge. I've been going to this location for a couple years now and for the most things were great. Minor things here and there which I don't normally nit-pick about until you do something that hits me. I always do scheduling through Yelp and for the last two session attempts have been ghosted. Kinda felt like I was dating and then all of sudden I'm no good for them anymore. 1st time I let it slide bc maybe on vacation or something sent a follow up message too. Same thing with this week - ghosted. Not okay or say you are t taking yelp appointments anymore. Inconsistencies: - paint chipping...was doing really food but the last few times I've gone they chip after a week. - getting the free drink...I feel like I've also started to have to ask. I see others with it...and I never say no to it! - pedi shape / design: Iowa say really short and in generally have to tell them shorter. Plus my big toe is generally shaped slanted and I have to ask for it to be evened out. Simple design of 4 single small dots in a vertical row is generally messed up and I have given up a few times. I do like the salon and loved how easy it was to book an appointment, but being ghosted is a little frustrating and disappointing to at least this customer. -------------- Love this place...great prices and the service is always great. Because they have limited chairs call ahead as they tend not to have last minute appointments. WORST PEDICURE EVER. The lady who did my nails, Lynn hurt me so much when taking out my ingrown that my toe has been INFECTED. It's been 1.5+ weeks of pain. If you have an important week ahead of you, I would highly recommend not risking yourself pain when going to this salon. I'm also disappointed because even the evening and day after my pedicure, my feet were not cleaned properly like most pedicures do. I contacted her and she asked me to pay an extra $8 to clean my feet (which I thought a $57 mani-pedi would do for me). In the last picture you can see my skin has recovered because I have been applying Vaseline and ointment at home. Her mani-pedis are quite expensive and definitely not worth this much pain and a doctor's visit. read more

I was also pushed to upgrade to a $38 For a 6 min foot massage. 3 min on each foot. Really! I declined, and after that the service felt even more rushed and careless. This isn't about extras I just expect the basics to be done properly. If a technician doesn't want to perform a service, I'd rather be told that upfront than receive a rushed, incomplete job. Very disappointing, especially since I know they can do better. I'll give it one more try, but if this is the level of service going forward, I won't be back. Just because I'm a man & do not spend hundreds of dollars on my nails does it mean the service should be lacking. Also, the language barrier hurts since they don't speak English. It's hard to ask for what you want, but they know the word "tip" DO BETTER!

By that point, the relaxing experience we had hoped for was already gone. The third employee who arrived also gave me attitude when asking about the manicures we had scheduled. I mentioned we could skip them if they were short-staffed, and her response came across as, "Do you want them or not?" because they would need to call additional employees in. If appointments are scheduled in advance, it seems reasonable to expect the salon to be prepared. This was our first visit and, unfortunately, it will be our last based on the experience alone. The woman who did my nails was very kind and did a good job -- she is the main reason I gave more than one star. Another disappointment was that my husband's manicure didn't even begin until both of my services were completely finished, despite us booking appointments together. Lastly, the salon was very warm with no air conditioning running. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it would be during a hot summer day.

I have…read morealways gone to a new nail salon every time because I was always dissatisfied by the work, rushed pace, or limited selection of finishes, but Sugarcoat has been able to accomplish multiple finishes (unicorn holo, chrome, matte, etc.) and match designs from photos of nails from IG/internet nearly spot on. The girls are friendly and while they chat to one another here and there it's not as often as other places where they chat loudly so much that the whole time they're distracted and the work is subpar. Here they actually are still focused on their work here while softly chatting to each other. They even offer water or champagne sometimes. And the last time I came here, one of the mail tech had new gadgets like nail clippers that kept the same exact length for all the nails and UV flashlights to glue the nail tip to the nail bed for GEL X manicures. They also use a timer for the foot massages so you know you're getting the actual time paid for. Unfortunately, I no longer live in South Bay to come here but if anyone were to ask to recommend a place in San Jose, this would be it.
