Just came here for the first time!! I live so close to this salon I'm not sure how I haven't came here sooner. I called first thing in the morning and was able to come in right away. Repeat Customer: I've been coming here for a while now and the service and quality of the nails are always amazing. The staff are all super nice and the owner Ken always remembers me. All bad. I paid $80 plus tip for this work. There were empty beverage cups around the shop and the table I sat at was sticky and dirty. The girl who did my set rushed through it, it hurt when she took my old set off, and didn't even bother removing all the old color I had on. She left French tip paint all over and made them way shorter than I wanted. Plus there are TONS of air bubbles in my clear top coat. I've been a loyal customer for 8 years.....This isn't the first time I've had bad service here and all they do is say sorry we will do better next time. read more

I don't ever leave bad reviews. But I really felt I had to for this one. The service itself was okay. I paid for an extra foot massage and it did not feel like a massage. It just felt like a foot rub. The pedicure was ok in general. I did not like the way my nails were shaped. But whatever. But what I'm the most disappointed about is the quality of the products or I don't even know what it would be in this case. I got a refill on my nails - acrylic and in less than a week later 3 nails break! I went to get one of them fixed and I was charged $7, which is fine. Now, today 2 additional nails have broken and I don't even want them to fix them. Not to mention the pricing is a little high and they charge a fee to use a card. I've been going to KN for the past couple of months and for the most part, they have always delivered on my simple style. I typically enjoy going here- to the point I even referred my roommate who has gone a couple of times. There has only been one instance in which I asked for a design that they said they could accomplish but didn't really deliver on- ironically this was done by the same tech who did my nails today. With NYE around the corner, I went in today to get something more extravagant and give them another shot at doing a design. From my first encounter, I showed the tech exactly what I wanted for my nails and she said that it can be done. Everyone said they can do it. The tech who took care of my fingernails had me get a whole new set because apparently that's the only way to get an ombré set. That's fine and I don't mind paying extra for a full set if the set will reach my expectations. She started on the ombré and showed me one nail which I looked at and said that the ombré is uneven. She said, "It's because it's black" even though the reference picture featured an even, black ombré. She then got an attitude while she was taking it off, speaking to the lady doing my toes in a language I don't understand. Cool. I decide to try my best to trust the process and ignore the groaning and unwelcoming body language. The nail set features an ombré chrome, followed by a full chrome then a black jeweled ombré on consecutive fingers. She messed up and did both chrome nails full chrome. At that point she had already been working on my nails for an hour and a half and I didn't have the time. Once she goes to place the jewels, she realizes that she in fact does NOT have the black jewels in order to achieve the look. The reference photos features 4 different colored jewels of varying sizes which made the nails look so elegant- She used only 2 colors with both being the same exact size. On top of that, the jeweled nail on one of my hands is placed on the wrong finger! Once she was "done", I looked at my nails to find chrome powder and dried polish/powder all around my nails and sealed to my skin. When I showed her, she said that I just need to wash it off.... I actually had to sit at home with tweezers and peel it off. Now I am not one to spare any expense when it comes to an elaborate design... but I paid over $200 (including my toes) after tip for a sloppy set 2 hours later? She didn't even care enough to trim my cuticles. And the only reason why I even tipped 18% was because of the lovely tech who did my toes. I think the worst part about this whole experience is that she didn't even seem to care I was unhappy and treated me like a bother. I do plan on possibly coming back but the point is don't oversell and under deliver and also make sure there is an environment that makes customers feel comfortable in letting their tech know they are unhappy. read more

My mom had come in earlier in the week and had recommended this place for my sister and I to try out. The set that my mom got looked really nice so we trusted her word and came in for a full set and a fill. I'm not sure how my sister feels about her service but I wasn't happy with mine. I was seen by Diana. I felt like she was trying to get the service done as fast as possible, which I wouldn't mind if she could do it skillfully, but she can't. My nails aren't rounded out as nicely as they could be, the acrylic has some bubbling, there is a piece of dust embedded into my thumb nail, cuticle removal was a little painful, she cut me with the drill, got the color of my reference photo wrong and then was hesitant to change it when I asked, and got polish around my fingers which I'm picking off as I'm writing this. Yesterday (Saturday, March 9th, 2024) was my first, and likely last, time at this establishment. I called in after seeing reviews on Yelp & said if they could accommodate me, I could be there in 10 minutes. I said I'd get a regular pedicure for sure, but communicated that I hadn't decided between gel polish on my natural nails (my usual) OR acrylic nails with regular polish. They said I could come in. I arrived about 13 min later (because traffic.) They showed me to a chair for a pedicure. While a lady worked on my pedi, another lady came to take the old red gel polish off of my fingernails. I'm used to nail techs taking some of the old gel polish off, putting liquid on cotton, placing the cotton on my nails, and wrapping that in foil to remove the remaining gel polish. This lady took some of the old polish off then used something in what looked like a nail polish container to brush a chemical onto my nails. No foil. I'm not familiar with whatever product she put on my fingernails, but a friend called prompting me to take out my AirPods from their case to chat. Soon after putting in one AirPod, the skin in front of my tragus (part of my outer ear) started to burn. I mentioned that my skin was burning and they gave me a paper towel. I didn't realize until I got to my car and tried to put my AirPod back in its case that the chemical eroded the plastic on my AirPod case in a way that SEALED THE CASE SHUT. My pedicure finished first (French tips, regular polish), so they guided me to a seat to continue with my manicure. I decided on acrylic nails. The lady brought out the LED light device for gel polish, and I told her "No gel polish, just regular." To which she responded: "Gel last longer." I was beside myself! And politely, but firmly, told her, "I'm getting my nails redone in two weeks, and did not ask for gel polish." So she confirmed that I wanted French tips, put the LED light device away, and used regular polish. At one point, I showed her that there was still red polish on my nail from the old gel polish, and she got some of it off but not all. There was also a bit of acrylic overflowing onto by pinky finger that she should have removed, and the line on each finger between the clear and white polish (especially on my left hand) was not as sharp as it should have been. When I went to pay, first I asked whether they did eyebrows and the lady said no. They have a waxing sign outside the building that I didn't notice until I left. Maybe they were too busy to do my brows, but if that were the case, she could have said that. A gentleman rung me up to pay and when he told me the total, I asked for a receipt and a breakdown of the charges. He told me a breakdown would be on the receipt... so I paid. Lo and behold, THEY CHARGED ME FOR GEL POLISH I DID NOT RECEIVE. That's an extra $15. I told him I got regular polish, not gel, and he looked at my nails closely, touching them to confirm (why would I lie?) He spoke with one of the ladies in a language I did not understand and started doing something behind the counter, maybe starting to process the refund but he did not communicate directly to me- not even an apology. It was my second time coming to this establishment and I don't know that I'll be coming back if there's not an attempt to fix this experience. I went in asking for a gel manicure and a gel polish change on my feet. I was quoted 35 for the manicure and 25 for my feet. Let's start with the gel polish change. I told him I wanted my nails longer and square. At the end of the service I looked down and my toes are two different shapes and sizes to which his initial response was ok I'll file the other one. Um. No. So they had to do a layer of acrylic to make them match. Not thrilled about it because it took time growing out my natural nails but whatever. On to the majority of my issues, the gel manicure. I want to note my last gel manicure was at this same establishment. First he attempted to drill off all the gel. After nail number two I told him I wasn't comfortable with that much drilling of my natural nail. He says ok and proceeds to paint something on my nails and try to scrape the gel off which wasn't working. So he then took out a file and started trying to aggressively use the file to get the gel off and after breaking my nail I told him I was done with that type of service and questioned why my nails were foiled for a gel soak off like normal. Someone else comes over and confirms thats what should be happening and I request a different person. About 15 minutes later a girl comes out and starts doing my nails. She tells me my nail is broken and I told her he broke my nail and she said ok I'll fix it with dip. I said ok and after he was done with my gel polish on my toes I asked to be moved to a desk. So she proceeds with my manicure and once she painted one coat of the color I see this huge bump on the nail she fixed with dip. I told her it looked terrible and I wasn't leaving it like that and she said well I needed to fix it I said that's fine but do a thin layer not just some mound. So she fixes that paints my nails and its done. I paid $62.53 total and I left because regardless of the lack of service I received I'm not the type of person who won't pay. But now I'm going to post photos of this "manicure" I received. It looks liked a toddler ripped at my skin. My nails are uneven and the shape it horrible, the gel looks uneven, bumpy, streaky and theres rivets in it. It looks terrible. I'm so utterly disappointed and I truly hope the store owner will make this situation right. UPDATE: Since I can't respond to Ken's response on here and I've called twice and haven't received a response I've resorted coming back here. First and foremost, I should have been told I was getting charged 3 for the removal of the gel but fine. Past that though, I understand that mistakes happen but at the end of this I paid for a service and received terrible results for the service. So though mistakes happen, I worked hard for the $38 I paid for this service and as such should have received quality work. So I'll either need a refund of my $38 for this terrible thing you called a manicure, or I'll need to come in and have a new manicure done. I look forward to resolving this matter. I would not recommend this salon. Disappointed in their customer service. I just got a gel manicure here, and it felt very rushed and was far from being an enjoyable experience. The woman was rough when filing my nails and cutting my cuticles. She even punctured and caused some bleeding on one of my nails. To make matters worse, she sprayed it with an alcohol solution twice (while spraying the other nails too), and it stung so badly. I would have assumed she would know not to do that. When I went to pay, I informed the owner of the incident. He simply said sorry and then charged me the full $30. Didn't say anything more. I just expected the owner to care a little more. I don't get my nails done often, and $30 isn't cheap. There are other nail salons in the area that I'll be supporting moving forward. read more
