My friend referred me to this place. I got a gel pedicure with Lily. She was really sweet and patient with me because I was being indecisive picking out a nail color. The cost of the gel pedi was $45 which is fair. I prefer gel polish over regular polish bc my nails last for over a month, sometimes even longer and they maintain their shine. What I liked about this place was that they include the sugar scrub, massage, hot stone and warm paraffin wax without an additional charge. That's a steal! Everywhere else I have gone those are always add ons so I feel like I got a great deal and the service was excellent. It was also very clean, which is something I look for when I go to nail spas. Never again... I've heard from a couple of people that this place is good, but my second visit, I was annoyed the whole time!! I made an appt for 2:45. I arrived at 2:20 because I got out of work early. They didn't seat me until my actual time, but then I sat on the pedicure chair for another 15 minutes until a lady came up to me to do my service. I would give this establishment no stars if I could however, it is not possible in this case so I will settle with the one. I am not the type to ever really write reviews unless it is something incredibly good or terribly bad. However, when I had come to this establishment for a simple removal of acrylics and CLEAR COAT manicure, literally nothing more, I was refused because I I had not gotten the acrylic set with them and she proceeded to basically call me dirty and told me I needed to wash my hands and bathe more often in order for the nails to "fall off on their own". She had a very snooty attitude and insisted there was no way she could remove them without me being a liability to her business. I literally went to the salon a few steps down and they did it for me no questions asked. Don't come here if you want to be looked down on and given a million and one excuses as to why they can't provide a service for you! read more

Heated cream for your foot or hand massage (Can you say, "ahhhhh"?) 3. Artistry. I got two ghosts on either big toe for Halloween! 4. Warm stones. This is the BEST part! The heat of the smooth rocks against your feet feel so nice! I've never felt so pampered! And the Birthday Girl quite literally "walked away" with a great experience and quite possibly a new habit to love. To sum my mani/pedi up quickly, I could have done a better job myself @ home. Honestly, the quality of my mani/pedi was absolutely not worth my $. Two stars because the customer service was OK. The owner was really nice and "tried to fix" the botched nail design one of the techs painted on. Then on the other hand, I can't understand how she could let a customer leave with such poor quality work. Here we go: 1. The nail tech did a half-hearted job of cleaning my cuticles 2. The color I chose was almost out, and the nail tech thinned it out with acetone. The owner informed me she had a new bottle in the back, AFTER the nail tech was done badly applying coat after coat after coat of thinned out polish. Wow! 3. I had to tell the nail tech more than once to fix certain areas she didn't apply polish to properly and to clean polish off my cuticles!! 4. The tech painted a bad, shaky design (that she chose) which the owner noticed and moved me to her station to "fix" 5. The owner "fixed" the design and I told her that the tech didn't clean up around my cuticles, she said 'oh, I'll fix that for u right now' NEVER GOING BACK! read more

Overpriced, it's downtown Willow Glen so I should have known better. I went in for a manicure- nothing fancy, just clear nail polish. I felt rushed the whole time. Not much of a hand massage. It's a clean enough shop, polite service, but its way too expensive and over priced compared to the other nail shops I usually go to (QT Nails, Van's Nails). I came to nail elegance based on my friend's recommendation, and I'm so happy that I did! I got French tip shellac done by Kathy, and I really liked the service that she gave because she took the time to clean my cuticles carefully and also made sure that I was happy with the length and shape of my French tip. I also really enjoyed the ambiance of the salon because the workers weren't loudly chatting with each other the whole time like they do in other salons that I've been to. The only downside to it being in downtown willow glen is the fact that it can be hard to find parking because of all the businesses on that one street, so I would suggest finding street parking on willow street near the residential area and just walk towards Lincoln ave and take the crosswalk. I highly recommend this place! It's definitely going to be my new go-to nail salon. read more

I phoned to make an appointment with Julie, she interrupted me before i could finish my sentence, proceeded to tell me Julie was not in, then said she could do my nails, after interrupting me again, then communicated that she didn't have time to do my nails. When I phoned back, because I was in disbelief about what had happened, she interrupted me again, told me I was mean, that Julie would not be doing my nails and that I should take my business elsewhere, then she hung up on me. What a find! I think I discovered this shop while visiting my friend John's furnishings store next door. Every time I call, Tina greets me like an old friend and I feel special. When I arrive, all of the ladies greet me and make me feel comfortable. Whether I start with the gel manicure, excellent and FAST or my pedicure, I am a happy camper. The pedicure treatment includes lovely citrus slices in your warm conditioned water. Massage chairs are big and comfy. The technicians are excellent and I haven't experienced any of the cuts or abrasions I came to associate with other places. It's clean, quick and convenient. It's been a while since I've written a review but this is one that is worthy of my time. I've been getting gel manicures for several months at a location in South San Jose with a friend but it's too far from my house and I honestly wasn't thrilled with the treatment on m nails. Recently, July 3rd, I had to get them done b.c I looked a disaster. Per usual, I googled the usual "manicure willow glen" search and saw a great rating for this location which is 10 minutes from my house. I was greeted promptly (walk-ins welcome) and was asked to sit down for a pedi/mani at the same time. I had Tina do my manicure (I believe she is the owner) and she talked to me about how manicures aren't just to make your hands look good, it's to help you grow healthy nails. FINALLY! Someone gets it! My nails were weak, cuticles not healthy and I needed to find an affordable place that will keep my nails healthy while also making them look good. The time I spent with Tina talking about nail care etc. made me feel much better about bringing my business here. A new client forever.. Thank you Tina and team for making my nails look amazing, the shape and everything. Also, knowing what it takes to keep nails looking healthy! At age 45, hair and nails are weaker than they used to be so this is very important to me. read more

I'm so sad to say that I'll never go back to Nail Elegance again. I've been a loyal customer of this salon for almost 10 years. I had an issue with my nails last week (first time I've ever mentioned a problem even though I've had them before) so I called and asked for a repair as my gel mani started to chip and lift less than one week in. Tina (owner) spoke with me on the phone, scolded me rudely and said she guarantees her work. I asked if I could come in to get them fixed and she aggressively told me when I needed to come. I came in to get my nails fixed and not only was I treated incredibly poorly, I wasn't even acknowledged! I made a few small talk comments and she wouldn't even look at me in the eye, let alone reply to what I was saying! She had me in and out of there in five minutes flat. I was treated like a shunned customer. Despite what happened, I called today to schedule my routine appointment (giving them the benefit of the doubt). When I called, Tina began to schedule my appointment, but when she asked for my name, I was immediately told that she "talked to all her girls" and nobody wants to do my nails anymore. What? I've literally gone to the same salon for almost a decade. I've never been rude or impolite and always tipped well. I've brought in many friends and family on referral and even had my bridal party in before my wedding. I bring in my own polish and don't complain that all their regular polish is SUPER OLD and gooey (they put acetone in their polishes to thin them out which degrades the polish). I was SHOCKED. I politely told Tina that I was very taken aback by her comment and that I've been a customer of hers forever. She literally hung up the phone on me. I sincerely wish her staff the best (there's always been a high turnover there). I also hope she starts treating them better as some of the girls would often mention how mean Tina could be and how inappropriate some of the girls were to each other. I guess reputation and loyal customers don't mean anything to Tina and if she's in a bad mood, she'll ruin your day faster than you can say "gel mani." read more
