Honestly this experience was really frustrating. I booked with one nail tech specifically. She was the reason I found and went to the salon. I didn't get her for my design the first time because she took a walk in, but the tech i had was able to do my nails really well. This time i made sure she was booked for my nails and design. I get a text before my appointment asking to reschedule to later, i couldn't, they said it was fine. I get there and there are people in the middle of getting their nails done so I wait. Someone else started my nails but the tech i booked with, tech #1, took my design picture. I figure that tech #2 i'm with will do the prep, and I will go with Tech #1 once she finishes the girls nails she's currently doing. After 50 minutes and 5 rounds of my natural nails being drilled down, a girl shows up for a 6:30 appointment. The tech i was booked with--Takes her. Another hour goes by, that girl finishes her nice long full set acrylics while I still have 4 nails left. i feel bad because I know the tech i had was trying extremely hard, and I truly appreciate the effort. But being in there two hours to not get the service by the person I scheduled with, or get the design i wanted at all, is unacceptable. A french tip, builder gel fill has never taken 2+ hours to do. I ultimately gave up on my design because I was exhausted with being there and still having so many nails unfinished. It was at that point the tech I was originally booked with offered, with a drill in hand, to fix them since she was now done. No. I couldn't be there any longer, that's why i made an appointment and booked someone specific. I paid the slightly discounted price ($50) and left. I don't want them fixed, they're brittle now from the filing and being soaked in acetone in-between each round. They're bending despite now being short, when they weren't bending at all previously. The almond shape I had that matches the design pic, is basically gone. I just want to share so people are aware that booking means nothing and not everyone is trained equally. read more

I came in to get birthday nails by Holly and I'm obsessed! I was recommended by a friend and made an appointment about a week in advanced. Upon arriving, I had an old set I needed to remove and Holly actually removed it the correct way unlike other salons I've been to (it was really gentle on my thin nail beds). I was told Holly does really great almond shaped nails so I asked for almond shaped French tips with one cloud accent nail and it came out so nice! I'm always super hesitant with getting almond shape because all the times I've tried elsewhere, everyone seems to make my nails too fat and I didn't like that. The reason I know it's Paradise Nails is because the fungus came from the glitter they applied to my nails - when I filed my nails off, you could clearly see the fungus surrounding a large piece of glitter. I asked for matte black mani/pedi. They said no problem and got to work. 1) after my pedi was done I looked down and she had put a shiny top coat on. When I inquired again about wanting the matte top coat, she said they didn't have matte for regular polish. I don't know why this wasn't told to me up front, I would have changed my polish colors if I had known. 2) they let me walk out with a gel manicure that was completely wrinkled in texture?! And this was after she tried to fix it twice, completely removing all the gel and filing/shaving my poor nail beds down until they were incredibly brittle. I pointed out the fact that it was still not even close to smooth but they did nothing. It might have been bad product? Or mis matched brands? In any case, incredibly unhappy customer. i've been here maybe like 5-6 times already. love the way they do my nails. i just don't like at the fact they act all crazy when you're trying to pay with zelle or venmo. i've ALWAYS paid with zelle when i get my nails done here and it hasn't really been an issue. I show them the confirmation and then they tell me to wait so they can find it??? like i'm showing you but okay that's fine whatever extra confirmation. last night tho idk whose the owner of that zelle account but make sure you don't LEAVE your nail techs at work alone. i asked to pay with zelle she immediately said no bc it's a different person?? i tried venmo and it asked for the last 4 digits of the phone number and she didn't give it to me so it wouldn't allow me to pay. it's not my fault your venmo doesn't work and when i tried to ask if i can pay with Zelle bc i ALWAYS DO she acts all funky and says "ok" bc venmo isn't working. i proceeded to send her the money & show her the confirmation. she apparently doesn't know what's she's looking at and calls the owner of the account to confirm. takes about 5 mins, while she's confirming um her whole demeanor changes with me and tells me immediately to sit down and wait. you think ima walk out on you after i've been here more than 5 times with cameras in my face. i can show pictures of my zelle transfers to the account for my nails. i felt super uncomfortable and almost targeted. i'm never coming back and your lucky i ain't ask for a damn refund. you guys literally lost a customer over something so stupid and belittling. i get it's a business but DAMN. yall needa learn read more

We all know it's hard to find a nail salon that is consistent with their work. I finally felt that we found that in Paradise Nails. I first off want to say that over all my experience with this salon has been fine and I've always came back. But after this last time of going in I won't be coming back and it's very disappointing since it was less about their work and more about their customer service. My friend and I are regulars at this salon and always come in together to get our nails done. This past weekend, my friend asked for an almond shaped set with a cute little Santa hat design. Unfortunately, she didn't even get to the design part. Her nails and fingers were horribly mistreated that almost every nail was cut underneath due to the harsh handling from the technician. There was actual blood. That is not normal. The tech was so rough on her nails that my friend decided to skip the design and just wanted to get the basic set done with. She paid for her set in full plus gave her a tip because that is the nice person that she is. As soon as we stepped out into the sun and looked at her nails, not only did we see the damage underneath, but we also noticed just how bad of a job she did. Shapes and lengths were all inconsistent, there were jagged edges, and the acrylic itself was bumpy all around. We didn't even leave the parking lot. We went back in and asked to speak with Someone when they had a second. We weren't looking to make a scene, we just wanted to get this corrected. We spoke with one of the front desk girls and told her what we see wrong with the nails, and we were told that my friend could have them fixed at no charge. She scheduled an appointment with Holly next day at 1:00. I wish this was the end of it but sadly it's not. We were told about 40 minutes before the rescheduled appointment that Holly was running late and if we could reschedule the appointment to 1:30. Not a problem. We thanked them for the heads up, and adjusted our schedule. We arrive at the salon for the appointment and Holly was still attending to her appointment. Fine. We can wait a couple extra minutes right? It was now nearing 2:00 and that appointment was no where near done. Finally, after talking it over, my friend decided that she just wanted to get them off and get out of there. We didn't have more time to sit and wait for them to be fixed. We talked with the front desk girl and let her know of her decision, and reminded her that the nails were paid in full. She went to talk to Holly, and came back with a counter offer of 50% off. We pointed out the fact that she asking for them to be removed now because they are that bad. They go back, talk again, and then she comes to us with the same lame offer. At this point, it was insulting. We reminded her that her fingers were cut and that she was bleeding yesterday. That triggered something to click because they finally conceded to paying back the full amount. And when the girl delivered the news? She decided to add in that these types of things happen sometimes. They refused to pay the tip that was paid which is comical. At that point we let them know that we were no longer interested In getting the set removed and just wasn't going to come back. Again, I'm really disappointed because we genuinely liked this salon. But it's not right how they handled this customer service issue. Everyone who gets their nails done regularly know what is normal, and the extent of damage that was received was not normal. You should never tell a client that sort of treatment is the standard. read more

Let me just say this, before I found this salon I was trying to find a nail technician/artist/ beautyfier (not a word but I'm using it!) that could get the shape just right, the length just right, and of course be able to create some really cool art! So, the first thing I did was research. I found a couple different places locally (Santa Cruz area). To my dismay I couldn't find THEE salon. With many unhappy sets and fills that felt like I was wasting money to be unhappy. I decided to look further. Finding myself looking at places 35-45 min away-specifically San Jose area. I stumbled across Paradise nails. I checked out the reviews on Facebook. I looked at yelp and doubled down on more reviews. To see if it would be worth my time and money. IT WAS! Let me just say I was so impressed by the artwork on the sets done at this salon! I was in heaven! I decided to take the chance and commute. This has been the best decision for my nail health, look, and feel! I've been going to them since the first time in August of 2022! I had some of my most favorite sets done at this salon ever. I highly recommend this salon they are professional, extremely friendly, very caring, and pay so much attention to their work (and even their clients). It was easy getting an appointment through IG DMs, the replies are delivered in a timely manner. I sent in some designs through their DMs and got back quotes that were decently priced for what I was looking for. I stopped going to my regular nail tech because she was cash only and I was looking for an alternative because I hate carrying around cash. A plus of Paradise Nails is that they accept Venmo, cash, and credit card. I booked an appointment and they confirmed the time and date. Day of the appointment, I was told that my nail tech was going to be late 15 minutes and that I was welcome to wait inside. I waited in my car for 15 minutes then came inside to find that my nail tech (Holly) was working on someone else. I ended up waiting 45 minutes in total and I should've left at the 30-minute mark. I received no explanation or apology for this matter. During this time, the nail techs were talking shit about a seated customer, thinking that none of the customers could understand. They remarked that I must be Filipino by how tan I was but surprise surprise, I'm Vietnamese and understood every word. I was finally seated after 45 minutes and my nails were done in about an hour and a half. My nails were chunky, slightly uneven, and the designs were lacking. I ended up paying $85 total, including tips. I did come back to get my nails removed and it was less painful of a process than the other salons I've been to, I'll give them at least that. I'd only return here because they take Venmo and I'd definitely go with a different nail tech. read more
