The esthetician was able to squeeze me in before her next appointment! "Tu" (probably spelled that wrong) was really nice, she was top of her class at the European institute in Edmonton which earned her a free year of training at the International Dermal Institute here in Van (Dermalogica). It was $14 cheaper than the place I normally go in West Van... They have lots of services, hair, nails, facials, waxing, tanning, and are open 7 days a week- so I will probably go back. There is no esthetician on Sundays, however.

I had my appointment with Mandy, she's a lovely person and she gave me the best hair cut I've had in a very long time! She did what I asked and made suggestions which I appreciate very much. My last haircut cost me $87 including tip which was ridiculous considering it was adding a layer and a trim to very thin hair. Salon 77 prices kicked butt on that, $50! Thank you Mandy :)

I complained, but she said, "We don't do that here." And I had to go home and shave my own neck, and also get the spots that she missed on my face. I felt scammed because I paid $60 for it and she took a whole hour so I would expect that for all that time and money I would get a nice smooth face and neck. But I was wrong. When I complained to the owner he just told me that I am banned from the shop now and said they don't give refunds even though on their official website they have a "Service Guarantee" that if you are not completely satisfied with the service they will make it right.

Even though we moved my appointment to a week later, she offered a discount to compensate the inconvenience. ** great customer service! ** My appointment was around 5:00pm and got out the door right at 8:00pm on Friday night. (Ready to go out!) She coloured my hair from black with some caramel balayage to a rooty blonde/silver balayage. I was really impressed actually because my hair has not been this light in many years. So all in all, I left happy with my new hair and would receive endless compliments on it. THANK YOU! PS. When you're going lighter with dark hair, don't expect miracles. Go into your appointment with an open mind and lower your expectations.

Super fun and outgoing personality to chat with, especially since you're going to be spending 4-5h with your stylist, it's important to get along with them. She was really knowledgeable about hair and colouring, made sure to give me exactly what I wanted and most importantly was able to stay within her price estimation that she gave me during my consultation (most stylists aren't as flexible or accurate, and prefer giving a base price and then often going way above it on the day of the appointment which is understandable, but I really appreciated that of Donna). Definitely will be coming back and I would recommend anyone who wants beautiful hair to give her a try!!

Tucked in the corner on the second floor of Brentwood Mall is this day spa. I walked by and saw threading for $7.95 (after tax for $8.30), I'm sold. I was the only customer there on a Sunday afternoon, but she was professional and make sure my eyebrows are even. I don't have much demands for eyebrows, so I think it looks fine. The only thing was that she missed 3 long hairs on my left lid and didn't help me clean off all the pulled hair after - those are the only reasons why a star was deducted. The brochure mentioned membership for $20, but I was given free membership...so score! Because pricing is definitely reasonable, I will likely come back again for threading and possibly try other services.
