Pretty awesome food! Huge portions!! Definitely going back! However, closed on Mondays? Lame.

I have ordered twice directly on their website. I understand the long wait for delivery . The first time I was told 1 hour 15 min and waited 2 hours 20 for delivery. The second time I was told 2 1/2 hour wait for delivery. I waited 31/2 and still no delivery. The first time I sent a message letting them know the food was good but the lack of communication and in informing us where our food was or that there was a delay was unacceptable. This is ridiculous. Customer service is the worst. I gave a second chance and was met with the same exact problem. It's good but not that good . Will never order from them again . read more

They have a sign posted not to go in until you're called in because of COVID, so I waited outside for 10 minutes and then they said they were closed and sold out, even thought it wasn't 10:00 yet. If you don't want to stay open until 10, then close at 9:30. I probably saved myself from getting sick because I observed them dropping bowls and picking them up without washing them, while I was waiting. read more

The food is good if they can figure out how to control the demand. The way it is now by the time you get your food it has been sitting in there heater oven for 30-1hour , they have a text message system set up to let you know when ur food is ready and supposedly texted us twice but when I went to get it I had them send another and it went thru right away. I am giving one star mainly on the operation and especially for the customer service . They have a lot to learn as far as respecting their customers . Figure it out read more

Ordered and waited 20 min for my meals, which is not bad. Kid that took my order was polite. When they texted me to pick up my food, they took it out of a keep warm container. Food was a bit cold, dry, and not very tasteful. Not sure why I didn't get the food as soon as it was prepared. I purposely orders in person to get a fresh out of the fryer chicken sandwich. At first I thought it was a little pricey.. but then I saw the size of the breasts, oh my lol. Worth every penny. My fave are the smothered tots! I love them so much I try to make my own at home lol but they're just not the same Great people working here too, they are active in the community, providing meals to the needy and helping keep the boulevard clean. Honestly, i was really REALLY looking forward to trying this restaurant. There were long lines waiting, and to me that's always a great sign! I went one night, ordered their chicken sandwich meal. Customer service was amazing. My husband and I got the single chicken sandwich with original sauce. I thought their sauce would be hotter than normal but the mild sauce didn't have any heat to it. Next time we'll go up a few notches. we also ordered the loaded fries/tots. I would order just loaded tots next times the fries were just okay. Sooo good! We ordered and our wait time was about an hour, we got the text about 40 minutes after. I usually don't like coleslaw or pickles but decided to try everything, i don't regret it! OMG!!! Finally an amazing hot chicken Nashville place in the AV!! We got so lucky to have them here. The best chicken sandwiches you will find in the AV and their loaded fries is amazing! The portions are huge and they really load it up with chicken pieces, coleslaw, sauce and pickles! Yummm. We tried so many chicken places in LA so please do not compare it to others out of town, this is the best you will get out here without having to make the long drive. Overall AMAZING. read more

My wife and I were taking a stroll down the BLVD came across this new spot. I hardly take the time to do a review but I would highly recommend SASSY BIRD. I got the chance to spin the wheel of prizes. I landed on free 8 piece wings if you sing a song. I sang Happy Birthday to Jeramiah He was a Great representative of this establishment. He has excellent customer service. Just a friendly young man and not that fake type if you know what I mean. I got the SASSY A.F. sauce for my free wings my lips still burn lol I ordered the honey bbq and fries my wife got the loaded tots hot flavor they give you a lot. Some how I also got a complimentary Mac&Cheese. I would come back just for that cheesy bowl of goodness. The only thing I would recommend is you order ahead at least 20minutes. If not it's going to be a long wait. They have so many customers it's hard to keep up. It may also be I came right about lunch time. Food is great if you are willing to wait 45+ minutes on top of the time your were given to pick up your order. Their customer service is not great. Every employee will look at you but ignore you instead of asking you if you need something. When you ask how much longer for your order the answer given is "a couple minutes". I asked three separate times , waiting 10 minutes each time and "a couple minutes" is the answer I got. read more

So first time trying Sassy Bird after many post on Facebook from friends. I've really been wanting to try Popeyes Chicken sandwich, and was told not to waste my time, and just try Sassy's. So I ordered food for my family of three for delivery. I ordered three chicken sandwiches #2 mild spicy, one tater tot salad, and seasond fries. The very nice guy delivered it quickly, and noticed the bag was super heavy, like there were four cement bricks in the bag, lol. So the sandwiches are huge, along with the tater tot salad that has big chunks of chicken in it. So we ate one sandwich between three of us and the tater tot salad. So much food! read more

I drove by and saw this place and wanted to try it out I never tried "Nashville hot chicken" so I decided to check it out I got the sassy AF heat level and I was disappointed I was expecting it to burn my ass off but it didn't do that not even close if I were to compare the heat level i'd say it's at a mild level and as I was ordering it the guy taking my order said it's made with the two of the hottest peppers in the world so yeah I had high expectations but was very disappointed. I absolutely highly recommend SASSY BIRD !!! if I was able to give them a 10 I would. 1. It was pretty late when my husband I came in, were greeted by (Frank) i hope its him !!! I didn't catch his name but luckily I kept my receipt and his name was on it since he took our order. Omg !! He was so pleasant so profesional and amazing customer service. 2. The sandwich is huge !!! Tater tots... simply amazing... the taste of the chicken is out of this world delicious, it's packed with flavor and perfectly seasoned and cooked. The buns were amazing super soft, it was a perfect taste sweet and salty... the coleslaw was on point, super creamy and simply delicious. The pickles taste so fresh, so delicious and so thick. Ok here goes my favorite part... I got the Sassy AF.... yeeeessss perfectly executed, I absolutely loved it. 3. Over all my fellow YELPERS !!! Great ! Flavor is amazing, I personally think the medium hot is extremely spicy. But it's great food.

Aside from the food always taking over an hour to get, it is worth the wait. We have ordered from here twice now and twice its been good. So if your hungry don't order from here because you'll be hAngry by the time u get your food. The heat levels aren't that spicy if you're use to eating spicy food. Im not Mexican or Indian but I can handle some spice! We have gotten the chicken sandwich and the loaded tots. The heat levels we have tried are medium, hot and sassy AF. Sassy AF is not overpowering hot or so hot you can't enjoy your meal. For me Peruvian hot sauce or aji is waaaay spicier as a reference for those of you who have had good Peruvian food and aji. Absolutely DELICIOUS! My first experience of Nashville Hot Chicken was at Hattie B's in Nashville. Many hot chickens fall short but Sassy Bird DOES NOT! You get your money's worth with deliciously thick chicken breasts, large wings and large chicken tenders. They also delivered to us in Rosamond, from order time to delivery it was about 45 minutes. Picked up lunch here yesterday and took it back to our office and I usually hate ordering takeout because by the time you get to it, it's mush. Well this traveled very well! Chicken is fried so perfect and crispy, it's a very large sandwich too! A couple of us only ate half. The chicken breast is so big and thick. Very messy so bun didnt hold up! Ended up with it on a plate and used a fork. The fries were thick and crispy on the outside even after traveling a couple miles. Pickles and coleslaw were tasty. I got regular which is perfect for me I can't do spice. Hubby got mild and liked it. Sister in law got one level under Sassy and wanted it hotter. Will definitely be back. Pretty pricey and messy/soggy bun so only 4 stars. read more

My boyfriend and I tried Sassy Bird for the first time last week and we loved it so much we went back two days later. The first time we went we each got the chicken sandwich with seasoned fries. The moment we bit into it we were blown away by how delicious it is. The second time we went I got the loaded fries and those are even more impressive! I think I prefer those over the sandwich because I get more of all the flavors at once where on the sandwich the chicken is so thick that sometimes it's just a bite of chicken. I think the whole pandemic screwed up the system of ordering and waiting outside for a text. Never got the text. Customer service is above and beyond! Placed an order on a food delivery app and they chose to not pick up my food. Sassy Bird called me to explain the situation and one of the owners delivered my food to me instead. I'm very impressed with how they handled this bizarre situation. The food is also so so sooo good! An honest review. I came here with my husband and son (16 yr old) before hitting the blvd theater. There was quite a line, so we figured we'd stop in. It appears to be family run with some hired employees in the kitchen. This is a tiny spot, so prepare to grab and go. The interior appears either rushed or they were on a budget, either way it leaves much to be desired. The painting is sloppy and not in a creative sort of manner. As I sat waiting on the food, I realized I hadn't yelped the place before stepping in. The bit of a wait gave me a chance to read what others thought. The three of us laughed as we read through the reviews of those who were either angry or extremely opinionated. I use Yelp, but I do realize you can't take everyone's reviews seriously. Our order number was called about 15-20 minutes after we ordered and this is our review... The chicken, although moist, was extremely too oily. The cooks need to allow the basket to drip instead of serving immediately. Yes, we want it hot, but we don't want it dripping oil all over us. The tots were what you'd expect, so they were fine. I took half of my food home for the next day. I reheated it in my air fryer and there was still too much oil coming off the chicken. This is wasting the company money in both oil and napkins. When it came to the seasoning, you could taste the cajun seasoning, but it definitely lacked salt. I saw someone else mention this, so they might want to tweak their recipe a bit. The mild had the slightest kick to it and the hot snuck up on you. They were for the most part what you'd expect from the heat choices. My son enjoyed the loaded fries, but mentioned the sauce tasted of mayonnaise and relish. He said the sauce could be revamped to complement the loaded fries. I don't particularly like mayonnaise so he didn't have me taste the sauce, but I trust him. If he says it needs work, it probably needs work. As for the price, I believe I spent $27 for the three of us and this is because my husband and I shared. They did give us the drinks which was unexpected as it wasn't stated anywhere on the menu. I did see a yelper complain about canned soda being sold for $2, so maybe management read the Yelp and realized it was better for them to give away the drink with the purchase of a meal. If this is the case, smart of them. These are the things that keep customers coming back. Will we be back? My son says we'll try them again in 6 months. I think he's probably right. This gives them time to work out more of the kinks. read more
