    Spinach carre

Sassool is always worth the wait in line. They offer a variety of interesting salads and there seems to be something new each visit. I love the warm fresh pita bread. This time I tried a Spinach Carre; I wasn't sure what this was going to be but it was wonderful and juicy. This might be my favorite place. I will always come back here!!!

Always delicious! There's always a long line and there's a reason -fresh, delicious food! We typically get the 4 side plates and kabobs. The homemade pita is so good, served warm right from the oven behind the cashiers. The sugar free cheesecake is very good, too. Kale salad, spanokopita, fruit salad, potatoes, it's all so good. Parking is a bit hectic on weekends, just a heads up.

Sassool checks all my boxes for a flavorful, nourishing Lebanese Mediterranean meal. I've heard high praises about their delicious meals and decided to order delivery this afternoon. The portions are generous and the meals are so nutritious and flavorful. I decided on the Pick 4 and chose the roasted beet salad, falafel, jalapeño cilantro hummus and Mediterranean chicken salad. I also ordered a chicken kabob with greens. The jalapeño cilantro hummus and pita was a hit for me. The roasted beet salad with mint leaves was so flavorful ! The falafel was tasty but could have been warmer. Everything was perfect and I have food leftover for tomorrow. I also ordered a cheesecake as a treat for later. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

I really liked the choice of creating my own tray and having different options to choose from.

My favorite Mediterranean place is Raleigh! The food here is delicious and fresh. Since you're reading this, Charlie's Kabob Grill is also amazing! But back to the review: I love the food here and the fresh baked pita bread! We usually get the kabob platter with kafta and steak (15.99) with two sides: tabouli and hummus. The platter comes with rice and some toum (garlic paste) but we like to order an extra one (try dipping the pita in the garlic paste!). We love the hot and fresh pita bread, right out of the oven. It can get very busy but usually it's quick service. You order at the counter, pay, get a number, get a table and they'll bring your food to your table. They also have a store with lots of Mediterranean ingredients and other foods.

Second time and the food was amazing! Fresh tasty. I would give more stars if I could. Chicken kabobs tender and juicy. Go and try they have many locations in the triangle

Food: 4 Service: 4 Ambience: 4 Date/Time: 10/15/2024 7pm Crowd: 1/2 full + lots of take-out orders Order: Chicken Kabob combo plate w/hummus & grape leaves Hadn't been here in awhile and it looks like they've picked a lot of fans since. It seems to be crowded most every time I come here! The little grocery area in the back left side is pretty well stocked and has quite a bit of a selection of items. The order line in the back right offers a wide selection of both cold & hot sides and main dishes from the display or the grill. As you make your way past the order counter, the desserts look awesome and tempting! The folks behind the order counter are all good and efficient as well as the pay counter. And don't forget to get your hot pita when you pay! Back toward the front when you enter, the 2 dining areas are to the immediate left and right, with a small area in the grocery area in back. The place is on the noisy side when it gets full (most of the time) but if you can get a table on the left side as you enter, it shields you a little bit. Definitely recommended!

I love Sassool and I can literally eat here daily. I enjoy the salmon burger, kale salad and rice. I don't believe there is anything on the menu that I dislike. I've enjoyed the lamb, stuff dates and baklava as well. The staff here are always rushing, so it's easy to be overlooked if you're not approaching and immediately giving an order. The space is always nice and clean. I always find a clean table and the restaurant is well lit. It is loud in here but once you take the first bite from your food you'll never notice. I like to enjoy mine as take out.

We ordered the grape leaves, baklava, namoora and tabbouli. I am Lebanese and these are staples in our home. The grape leaves were extremely dry and tough. The rice was very undercooked and the leaves themselves were so dry and tough we could barely chew through them. We ordered 12 and thought maybe it was a fluke but all 12 were completely inedible and we threw them out immediately. The baklava was okay, nothing to write home about. Very simple syrup forward and you couldn't taste much else (we ordered the walnut). The namoora was stale. Very dry. Namoora should melt in your mouth with with a slight chew. This was again, tough and stale. We threw those out as well. Lastly, our favorite salad, tabbouli. The lemon taste was nonexistent. The parsley wasn't chopped fine as Tabbouli should be. It was a watery mess. Overall, we won't be back. We spent over $75 on 4 items and left feeling hungry and bamboozled. There are other Lebanese food spots to visit in the Raleigh area, I will stick to those. Please do better when representing Lebanese cuisine. 15 workers behind the counter can seem like you're doing something right but in the end, it all comes down to the freshness and authenticity of what you are claiming to serve.

I've practically followed this place across states and cities. I discovered Aladdin's years ago when I lived in Northern Virginia. After that first visit, I was hooked and started going several times a year. When the Shirlington location closed, they reopened in Burke, and that became my new go‑to spot every time I visited the area. And then, heartbreak , they closed that location too. One day I randomly searched to see if they had opened anywhere else, and you won't believe it... they popped up right here in North Carolina, the same state I now live in! And while it's not in Charlotte, my brother lives in Raleigh, which means every trip to see him doubles as an excuse to visit Aladdin's. My usual order is the shawarma rolled, and trust me when I say it's the best! The savory, flavorful meat paired with those pickled veggies, plus all the heavenly spices and sauces, well t's just perfect! I've had shawarma at countless places over the years, and nothing even comes close to theirs. I typically grab an appetizer as well, dolmas or falafel. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Every dish I've tried has been spectacular. Introduced my brother and wife to this place, and they've already been back! To give you an idea of how deep my love for this place goes, the last time I visited I ordered 4 extra shawarma rolls to go, froze them, and rationed them out at home. They don't hold up perfectly after being frozen but I did still enjoy every single one. Aladdin's will always be one of those rare restaurants that I go out of my way to visit and I'll continue to stop by as often as I possibly can. If you love Mediterranean flavors (Lebanese) this spot is a must!!!

Walking in you'll feel like you've been transported to a village like, Greek atmosphere. To sit down you'll check in with the host and then be seated either inside or on the rooftop. We opted for the rooftop as it was a nice evening. To start I ordered the Baklava Old Fashioned (Bulleit bourbon, homemade baklava syrup, Angostura bitters, and Amarena cherries) which was amazing. Next we ordered the trio of all three spreads (Tzatziki, sun-dried tomato hummus, and spicy feta spread) and the calamari. Both dishes were excellent and I definitely prefer the spicy feta and tzatziki sauce. For my main course I ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop (Chargrilled tomahawk chop, spinach, barrel-aged feta, herb aioli, Greek lemon potatoes) which was a bit disappointing. I probably should have sent the pork chop back as it was cooked well done and was very dry but was I was too hungry and didn't want to make my parents wait. Another one of our friends loved her Chicken penne Mykonos which we have ordered to-go many times. It looks even better in the restaurant as it has spinach, feta, mushrooms, tomatoes, white wine lemon cream sauce, and parmesan. This dish is a must try when you visit Taverna Agora in downtown Raleigh. Lastly, someone at the table exclaimed that their grilled salmon was one of the best salmon dishes he had ever enjoyed as its unique presentation features pickled beetroot, sautéed spinach, and a lemon caper sauce. I had the Poseidon Branzino which was fabulous. The dish had roasted branzino, medley of sautéed cherry tomatoes and onions, fresh herb rice, and skordalia (I had to look up what that is - a fascinating Greek garlic puree). The blending of all those flavors made for a scrumptious dinner, and thanks to the kitchen team for preparing it perfectly so that I could even eat the skin of the fish. We shared two bottles of Assyrtiko wine which is one of our favorite Greek wines after visiting Greece a few years ago. The wine list at Taverna is simple but thorough and fun to experiment with.
