Sassool is so delicious! When you feel like you want to try something different, but not way out there different, Sassool is a great option. Real food, and so many flavors from a variety of vegetables and spices, lentils, cheeses, meat. The Kafta kabob is my favorite of the kabobs. The two kabob meal is great if you're hungry and want to try out some different items. You can get two different kabobs and two sides. There are cold salads, hot sides and soups. The pesto orzo is so good and is topped with feta and includes kalamata olives. Even if you don't like hummus, try the jalapeño cilantro hummus, is so good and balanced flavor. I'm not a spicy eater and this is just delicious. I feel as though you could please any diet/taste type here. There's meat, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free items, fun snacks and beverages. They make flat bread pizzas as well. The spinach pie is definitely on my list. They offer desserts made on site and some from other places that are vegan and/or gluten free. Sassool gets hit by the lunch rush big time, so just be prepared if you're coming in on a weekday. It can be a little chaotic but the food is just so good, it's no wonder people clamor to get in. They have a little side shop offering nuts, lentils, candies, snacks, beverages and more. There is a front outside dining area. Parking is pretty easy but it's shared with all the other busy businesses in the strip mall. Still go. The food is the thing. read more

I made my return to Sassool for the Vegetable Lasagna platter! I placed my order online and it was really easy to order and I liked that I could select my pickup time as I needed enough time to drive to the restaurant. The restaurant was very busy with some dining outside and others insides but most of us were getting the food to go. So ordering online worked well for me as there is a cash register just for those that called or ordered online. There are taped lines on the floor so that we can all distance from the others. I liked the sides I had chosen a few days ago for the 4 side platter so I did order those again. Two sides came with the lasagna so the other two sides were additional. I ordered the ratatouille; roasted vegetables; fresh fruit and kale salad. This turned out to be way too much food as the vegetable lasagna was very filling and so yummy. It was packed with layers of vegetables and delicious cheese. But I am glad I can get at least another meal from what I ordered. I think I need to make a trip back as I forgot the baklava. I wasn't thinking about the desserts when I ordered. If I had ordered there I would have walked by the case of desserts. There is a rewards program too so another reason to return. read more

It was my first time here. The line was kinda long but it didn't take but 5-7 minutes to get through to order my food. They had it ready before I paid for it a few minutes later. There was plenty of room to sit in the dining area and it wasn't too loud. If I lived closer than 80-90 minutes away, I would DEFINITELY come back. Although the food is good the cashier was not friendly when I asked about a gluten free pita she snapped at me and said I should have ordered it at the start of the line how ever I did ask about it but was told you get your free pitas when paying. So I got snapped at and charged $2 extra for one pita. Then was asked to sit at a table to wait because that is what they do even with to go orders. Question while I don't get the two that was included why do you have to pay extra for one. My diet is not a Choice as I have celiac. The customer service was horrible I will look at other Mediterranean restaurants that might be more friendly to their customers. This restaurant is so popular and busy guess my business won't me missed but I like to be treated better. read more

Have ordered takeout from here a few times and everything was pretty tasty. The mediterranean chicken salad is probably one of the best things you can get here, followed by the grilled veggies. I was a bit intimidated when I walked in, especially because the menu and display case are so extensive, but I absolutely loved it after I got it together and finally figured out what/how to order! I would definitely go with someone who's already been before (but that just might be my personality...). Either way, the food is all so good. I've tried the Medjool rice, the Lebanese rice, the hummus, the tabouli, the chicken kabobs, the Mediterranean chicken salad, and the taziki. Everything I've tried so far has been on point! We had lunch here not long before the quarantine started. Just like at the Cary location, the food is perfect! I ordered my favorite, the chicken kabob with roasted vegetables and orzo and feta salad on the side. My friend loved the cilantro hummus, and there are many more sides from which to choose. One of the best things, though, is the freshly-baked, complimentary pita.This Sassool seems to have less seating than in Cary, although there was no wait for a table. I love the market that takes up about a quarter of the restaurant. You can get a few cheeses and packaged products, but my favorite is the fresh olives, including pitted kalamatas. The price is about half of what you'd find at a grocery store. I've sometimes popped in just for the olives; the price is that good. read more

Was told before coming that this was the best Middle Eastern restaurant in Raleigh. Nope. Not by a long shot. The beef kabob was so tough we ended up not eating it. When we told a staff member about the kabob he said he would see what he could do. Never saw him again after that! The falafel sandwich was very late in coming out and had cooled down to almost cold to the taste. We also had the vegetarian lasagna but there were no knives available to cut it into bite size pieces. We won't be coming back for another meal here. read more

If you go for just one thing go for the sweet potato salad and the roasted beets salad! They were both amazing! The sweet potato salad was the perfect blend of sweet and savory. Something about it just hits the right way anytime I have it. And I'm not a big o ion fan, but their mjadarah is my favorite. We were in Raleigh last week visiting My Baby Sister and her Hubby so we had to eat out to keep her out of the kitchen. We convinced them to eat Middle Eastern and they recommended this great Lebanese restaurant. The food was so good I forgot to take pictures. I did take a picture of their stuffed dates, really out of this world, though. Their spanakopita was the best I have ever eaten. It's worth a drive there for that alone. Stumbled across this place while visiting my parents and was floored by how good their vegetarian salad and vegetarian friendly options were. This place has won best of Mediterranean food in the triangle in prior years and they still have it. On site dedicated fire oven roasts their pizette offerings wonderfully. I usually get the corn salad, Lebanese green beans, the majadara ( I'm pretty sure I screwed that up) and the lentils or I forgot what it's called it called but I believe it's cabbage. I'm disappointed in Sassool. We've probably eaten here over a dozen times. Every time we order delivery, something is wrong. Whether that's multiple missing items or, like two days ago, a piece of chicken in a meal that's supposed to be vegan, there's always something that makes us say "we're not ordering from here ever again". Unfortunately, we live in a part of Raleigh that doesn't have many delivery options, so on desperate nights, we turn to desperate measures. But I'm over Sassool. read more

Food was decent. Nothing special, but Neomonde wasn't open so I had to try something new. I got the chicken kebab family meal package, a beef kebab platter, chicken salad, chickpea salad, and grape leaves. Really nothing stood out, but nothing was terrible either. The family meal was very expensive for what it was - $39 for 6 small kebabs and two sides. I wonder if it would have been cheaper to get the items a la carte. Major complaint was the doordash ordering system - every item just had SO. MANY. OPTIONS. that it was just completely overwhelming to someone who hadn't been there before. List upon list upon list of picking sides, picking condiments, picking addons, picking things you don't want, with no descriptions provided for anything. Sassool needs to simplify their online menu because many of the options just didn't make sense and it almost dissuaded me from ordering in the first place. I ended up with way too much rice because I didn't realize my selections already came with rice, so there was no need to select rice as one of my side choices.
