I decided to come back for my second visit and realized I've never reviewed this location! I absolutely love the employees here. They are attentive, quick, and friendly. The food is consistently good but it's the service that deserves a round of applause here. I always get my go-to Tripoli Platter with beef, lamb, and gyro meat, pasta, spanikopita, and grape leaves. I also order a side of rice and baba with pita bread. I know what I like and no matter what you order here, it is always flavorful and fresh. Hate to do this. Been eating here since they opened. But I just had an inexcusably bad customer service experience. Popped in to get a quick lunch to go for the wife and I. Ordered, waited 15 minutes only to be told that they're out of kafta. He said I could choose another type of kabob or the kafta would be ready in ten minutes if I wanted to wait. I chose to wait. Another 15 minutes goes by and I can see the the kafta isn't even on the grill yet. I walk up to the counter to ask what's going on, he said it's not ready. I said "you said it would be ready in 10 minutes, it's been 15 more and it's not even cooking yet." Guy walks to talk to the guy in the back making kafta, comes back and says it'll now be another 15 minutes! So let me get this straight. You had me wait 15 minutes to tell me you were out of kafta. Told me it would be ready in 10 more minutes. Then came back and said it's going to be 15 more minutes. Now on top of that, I get no accountability and no apology whatsoever. At no point did anyone say "we made a mistake. I'm sorry. Let me make it up to you." No, instead they chose to gaslight me. The little redheaded boy who was cooking said that he didn't tell me it was going to be 10 minutes. He said he told me they were fixing it. That's total BS. He told me they were fixing it, and if I wanted to wait, it would be 10 minutes. Horribly rude and unprofessional, argumentative, and unapologetic service today. This was my first time here and I was ready to order the gyro platter special but it wasn't Monday so I had to make a quick decision. I choose the kids gyro meal as I didn't want to pay the extra for the gyro meal when it wasn't on special. Let's just say I am thrifty. So anyway I got the kids meal and it was delicious. The lamb gyro meat was so tender and flavorful. The French fries were crispy, had texture and were burn your mouth hot ( which is the way I love them) and the tzatziki sauce was so good. I could probably did anything into it as the flavor was so yummy. I will certainly return and might try the falafel next time as my friend has that and it looked delish. read more

Quick review here. I usually go to Charlie's maybe twice a month for lunch and usually on Fridays. And, I go to the Capital Boulevard location for the most part. I have been to the Rogers Road restaurant a couple of times. The food and service here are very good. Both locations are nice and have a nice offering on their menus. It's tough to find Lebanese / Middle Eastern foods here in this area of Wake County and I'm glad this establishment is around to provide that. Today, I went with the The Bomb Platter. It's one of the Lebanese specials on the menu. I got it with the lamb which is on a bed of fried rice, banana peppers, tomato, onion, Mediterranean spices, hot chop and tahini sauce. The dish comes with pita bread cut into triangles. It is really good. The lamb was seasoned nicely and cooked to order. The spices mixed well with the rice base of the dish. The tahini sauce was drizzled lightly on top and didn't negate from the overall spicy flavor of the dish. I liked it very much. Like I said, the food here is consistent and the service is really good. The interior is nice and is decorated in a middle eastern theme. You won't be disappointed when you come here. read more

You would think being a "kabob" restaurant that there would be amazing kabobs. However the lamb was very chewy. A couple of pieces I had to spit out because I couldn't chew them. It was our first visit, and they gave us plenty of time to make our decision. I loved my chicken kabob with tzatziki, pita and Lebanese rice. The chicken was very well seasoned and cooked, and the tzatziki was loaded with cucumber. My friend loved his lamb gyro (the Saturday special, and it included a free drink!). Since it was our first visit, they brought us a small sample of baklava. The restaurant is well marked for social distancing, tables are spread farther apart than six feet, masks are required, and they have some outdoor seating. This location had some of the friendliest staff members I have ever encountered! I was in town on 06/09 and those 3 team members did an amazing job. They helped get plates to tables and were on top of take out orders. They were extremely helpful with giving recommendations based off of what people said they were looking for. The best Mediterranean food around! Hands down! This is my go to restaurant in Wake Forest! I love their beef kabob, hummus, salad and tabouli! Their gyros are also delicious! I've tried the Kafta (ground meat), Hercules (classic gyro meat) and Troy (sirloin steak)! Yum! The workers are super nice and there's a specific girl there that is very sweet and she knows my order by heart. When I get there and order the Habibi plater she knows how I like my meat cooked and my sides! I also like the Baklava! Synopsis: Amazing Mediterranean food for reasonable pricing. My girlfriend and I stopped by on Saturday the 14th for lunch to go. As to be expected from Charlie's, it was busy during lunch time and we waited about 15 minutes for our food to be ready. All things considered though, 15 minutes was much faster than we both expected for how busy it was. We ordered a Spicy T Wrap, Charlie's Special for the day, and Tzatziki with Pita along with an order of fries on the side. Absolutely everything was delicious. I personally had the spicy T wrap which is my usual pickup from Charlie's. It's always the right mixture of spicy, hearty, and delicious every time. The portions are great, the value is perfect, and you finish the meal feeling fulfilled and satisfied. For the wrap I paid $10.49 and for Charlie's Special, $11.99. Those along are plenty but adding in the fries for $3.99 makes the meal. I cannot recommend this spot enough, they do food right here! 5 Mediterranean Stars out of 5! read more

Charlie's has some of the best Mediterranean I have ever had. The star of the show was the baba ghannouj. It is topped with a smoked paprika that sends the flavor profile over the top. The consistency is also left a little more chunky, consequently adding more texture and substance to an otherwise typically smooth dip. I ordered the Spicy T Wrap for my meal and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I love ordering more unique menu items and when I saw these wraps, I knew I had to try one. The gyro meat was full of flavor and the wrap itself was crispy, as if placed in a sandwich press before serving. Even though we got our meal delivered, the wrap was still warm and crispy. It did seem like it was missing a tzatziki sauce or a similar creamy sauce, but it was good nonetheless. The spicy sauce was delicious but not actually spicy. It was mostly just flavorful and delicious! Overall, the wrap was reminiscent of a burrito but with all the wonderful Mediterranean flavors I love. We were missing a spanakopita in our delivery order but mistakes happen. The rest of the food was so amazing that it was hardly missed. Charlie's was a hit in our house and one of the best meals I have had in Wake Forest. If you are thinking about eating here I would highly recommend you do so. read more

Overall, a decent experience but the ordering process was a mess, the employees screwed up multiple customers orders - one guy actually never even got his food! We were in line to order, then asked to pay, then asked to finish placing our order...kind of unnecessary and a hassle. We ordered two habibi plates, sides were good and the chicken kabobs were very generously portioned. Hard to look past the many customers who had wrong orders or no food brought to them at all. We overheard a lady say she had asked for no tomatoes and her meal was covered in them... We'll be back and hopefully orders will be right next time. read more
