My family and I have been coming here a lot over the years. Although the quality of shoes have gone down, I still love them, especially my daughter. The reason for the low star rating is because there is one gentleman here who is always so rude. I usually try to avoid him. The others are just lovely and very helpful. One woman (maybe manager) actually apologized on his behalf. On my last visit I brought my elderly mother to get some gold sandals for an event. That terrible gentleman was the only one there. I would have left but the trip was already difficult for my mother. He had the worst attitude and insulted us both with backhanded comments. After trying on one pair he kept refusing to help. We just walked out. My mother was so upset she won't go back. I don't think I will either. read more

Comfort is hit and miss as is style. The shoes aren't always well made and come with flaws that SAS insists are normal. Also, some of the shoes wear out very quickly. Discounts are few and far between. However, if you do buy a pair directly from SAS on special and need to return them, the company won't exchange and give you the same discount (your refund will be minus the shipping). The company is very petty. Customer service does very little except give you their standard response and little else. With the increased costs and decline in quality, we have purchased our last pair. This place sells really comfortable shoes, I was able to find pumps about 2-3 inches and also lower shoes for work in a wide size. The wide shoe really added to the comfort level. I highly recommend this place . Plus, the staff was very helpful, and did their best to help everyone in the store as fast as possible , and still patient, and pleasant. Purchased a pair of shoes online that came in wrong size. Before I went into store in person I gave a call to confirm that they had the correct pair of shoes I was in need of & when I walked in was helped right away by Ryan. During my wait time for things to be processed a lady named Tammy came out and was trying to inform that I couldn't get the exchange completed in store due to me having purchased online which is a great inconvenience... My day was about to be ruined because I was so excited to give my grandmother her shoes. But thanks to Ryan I was able to deliver my grandmother her gift of shoes in a day notice from when I received my email confirmation for being able to exchange the shoes in store rather than having to wait for FedEx. Website needs clarification on return and exchange policy as well as knowledge that is passed to their employees. read more

I didn't even get to shop here. I walked in at 6pm and two associates told me they were closed. There were 4 people standing in line with one register. I said, "if it's okay, I'd just like to walk the store to see if you have something that would work for my grandma?" They said "sorry, we are closed" I don't see the problem, for someone to walk the store to see if anything looks like it could work for my grandma by walking the isles as they tend to the four people in line. I've worked retail lots of times and would not have had an issue as long as the customer understood that sales are done. Must not be hurting for sales. Not very customer friendly. I had been a SAS customer for many years, purchasing over ten pair of the expensive shoes believing they were all of high quality. NOT SO!! About two years ago I purchased a $160 pair of velcro tennis shoes for air travel and while on cruises. The shoes had less than 100 days of wear when they developed a hole in the right toe. Upon showing the shoe to SAS staff they claimed the hole was due to my toenail?? I have never had this problem with shoes even cheap ones. My grandmother was recently in a car accident and didn't make it through. She had bought shoes from SAS (she loved their shoes) and she had spent over $300. We found the unworn shoes with the receipt in the bag. The receipt was dated June 29, 2019 with a 30 day return policy. My mom called the store in Santa Ana to see if there was any way possible that we could get the money refunded to the card because of what happened. They said that they would. My parents went over to the Santa Ana location and they said that they were so happy and grateful for the customer service that they received. They asked me to write a review for them so that others can see that this business is amazing. They did not have to return the items (especially $300 worth AND after the 30 days)!!! Came here with my mom last Sunday for some granny shoes. Haha... I kid. I call them granny shoes because SAS shoes look like shoes your grandma would wear, but my mom calls them a Godsend. Mom works in our family's Chinese restaurant and is on her feet ALL day. She has tried numerous pairs of work shoes and she says SAS is the best and most comfortable for her tired feet. She's even gone to a podiatrist who fit her with custom insoles and she still says SAS shoes are much more comfortable. The price for a pair of SAS shoes is a bit steep at about $150 per pair, but luckily, we came during their SPRING SALE and every pair of shoes was $15 off. Lucky us! Karen helped my mom out. She gave my mom some of those footsie socks and measured my mom's feet for the perfect fit. She tried on a size 7 double wide, which was a perfect fit, but decided to go with a 7.5 double wide since she will be wearing thicker socks during work. Karen was very helpful and provided great customer service to us. We shall return for all of mom's work shoes needs. Maybe even get a pair for dad. :) But he likes Clark's shoes. read more

I took my mom (90 years old) there last week for a new pair of "church" shoes. She will only buy SAS shoes because they are the only ones that do not hurt her feet and because the quality is excellent. The young man who waited on us (I wish I had gotten his name) was so incredibly patient with my mom and helpful and courteous, I almost bought a pair for myself just because I felt so welcomed and appreciated. I love SAS! I always come In with my grandma, Marissa and Louis are the best! They really take the time to go over any issues and concerns when looking for shoes for her and are always so so friendly and patient. Even when I come in without my grandma, they are able to help me decide what she would like and what shoes would be most supportive specifically for her. I own a few pairs myself, they have cute & comfortable sandals & wedges too! & the tennies are AMAZING. They can be a little pricey, especially when buying multiples, but they are so worth it. They last FOREVER! They do also send out sale reminder postcards sometimes & I feel like they have good deals/sales pretty much every month or holiday. **TIP: they do not accept returns if the shoes are WORN, so if you can't decide if you like them or if they're the right pair for you, wear them only around the house. This is my first review on Yelp and I've been on this site for 10+ years. Yes, it takes A LOT for me to get this upset that I feel a need to write something like this. My elderly parents are 75+ years old and went to SAS shoes today. They were "helped" by Marissa. They asked Marissa about shoe sizes and fitting. Marissa responded with impatience and antagonism and clearly had no interest in helping. My parent's asked her why she was being impatient with them. Marissa went on escalate a non-situation and tell them if they wanted to "fight", she would call the cops. They left the store as they could see that Marissa was going to make a scene. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me?!!!! My parents are your prototypical genial elderly couple. They walk slowly, talk softly and are respectful. They do not make scenes and are not antagonistic. The crazy thing is that my parents still want to come back on a day when Marissa is not there. They like the shoes, but are SCARED to encounter Marissa again. Shame on her for making them feel this way Is this because they are elderly?... then shame on this store for employing her. Is it because they are Asian, elderly and have accents?... then that is reprehensible. I was born in the US and am American through and through. I would never come to a store like this if it were me. SAS Shoes are hand made IN AMERICA and cost a pretty penny. the company should hire people who are somewhat enthusiastic about customer service, people are going to be dropping 100.00 or more here. the shoes are high quality, i swear by them. i have foot problems, and i am on my feet ALL DAY! i need a high quality shoe and this is MY SHOE STORE!!!! customer service aside, i have spent more than 500.00 in the past couple of months upgrading my shoe wardrobe....this is because of my experience with SAS Shoes in the past...worth the $$$$$ they offer a wide range of styles for both men and women. read more

Went there a few days ago. Two workers were at the front counter, jibber jabbering. Neither one bothered to greet me or even look my way when I walked in. I found some shoes I liked and tried them on. By then, I think they finally saw me, as I was only 10 feet away. My experience was awful. The employees did state my shoes will be at the store ready for pick up within a week or at most a week and a half. It has hit 2 weeks already and they still don't have my order. One of the employee stated that she will have the manager call back and they never did. After calling multiple times trying to figure out where the shoes were and how much longer it was gonna take...they said...."it should be here any day now..." Not to mention...I have already prepaid for these shoes... At this moment, I'm debating if I should cancel my order or not. I don't understand why tell a customer they're going to be ready at a certain time frame when they're really not. I guess other customers are satisfied with this store.
