Shelves thrown on top that are now broken and topped it all off by placing my king mattress - lot of room you will see to go up - blocking the entire storage unit and catching on door. Apparently they can't double park to move on my "narrow" street, that is a one way with parking on both side and even a bike lane. Several other moving trucks double parked - but they just couldn't. Received late and very rude response from Mike claiming the person that posted the review the day before was just lying and trying to hurt his mover. Which is odd... since I had pretty much the same experience. just in case - review from day before that as mike claims - has nothing to do with their actual move.. just trying to hurt his mover Alice A. 010 Oct 31, 2025 DO NOT hire movers from this company if you value your property. A team of 2 individuals who arrived apparently high as kites. Tony and Chris were late, sluggish, clumsy and took 2 hours to load a small job that would've taken 1 hour to load AND arrive to the destination of the move. Waiting for Mike to spout out some bullshit about me not being prepared or last minute ... so i guess according to mike - if you have a last minute move - or in my case, a cancellation - PLEASE, DO NOT CALL MINUTE MOVERS. IT'S YOUR FAULT AND THEY ARE DOING YOU A FAVOR BY SHOWING UP. **UPDATE - Mike let me know that this is just how storage units look! They showed up to chaos and had chaotic guidance, so it's my fault they did things like place the sofa on it's side on the storage unit ground and tossed shelves on top. So if you have any chaos in your move and you use Minute Movers, expect some shit to get destroyed and be placed even more chaotically... and don't forget, they can't park on Brooklyn streets because they are narrow... Mike thinks I am irrational and hell bent on hurting his movers.. kind of like the other post from day prior that is just to hurt them. seems to be a pattern.

This was my first time hiring movers and J & G Moving exceeded my expectations! The move went so…read moresmoothly that I highly recommend them. I price-compared a ton of NYC moving companies and J & G gave me a competitive moving quote. Additionally, the building I was moving into required a certificate of insurance (COI) and J & G was able to offer it for me for free. A lot of other companies charge for this. Before moving, I communicated with them via email and they always responded promptly and were very clear about what their moving package included. The day of the move, they called and asked if it was okay if they came an hour early. They were very communicative with me during the whole move. The lead guy (forgot his name!) assessed how many things I had and then discussed with the other 2 men on how to efficiently approach the move. The 3 men were over 6' tall and strong, and they were able to finish my whole move in a little more than 1 hr! I did not have anything that was easily breakable but the men treated my things with care. They provided blanket and shrink wrapping for all of my furniture. Everything was loaded up into their truck very quickly. These guys wasted no time. When I arrived at my new apartment building, they had already started unloading my things. I had my boxes labeled with what was inside (i.e., kitchen supplies, shoes, jackets) and they actually placed each box in the corresponding room. Best of all, there were no hidden fees. They ended up not charging me a processing fee that was included in the quote and gave me $40 off my quoted price. The movers were so friendly, communicative and professional, I will definitely be using J & G Moving again! I also wanted to note that on the day of my move, the street I was moving from was blocked due to construction. J & G movers did not complain or make any mention of that until I had stepped outside of my apartment building and noticed it. These guys provide excellent customer service and I was very impressed by them.

Lastly they have the best insurance and they sent me the COI that my building requested (luxury building)..I will be recommending them to all of my friends and family. In all honesty this was the best moving experience I ever had. I wouldn't have used any other company. I cannot say enough great things about Edgar Jimenez and his colleague Ramon from Roadway Moving!…read moreThey provided an absolutely outstanding pickup experience from start to finish. They were incredibly professional, careful, efficient, and clearly took a lot of pride in their work. What really stood out to me was the attention to detail when packing and protecting our belongings. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was packed extremely well, with all the corners properly covered and protected. They handled some of our largest and most important furniture--including our king-size bed, mattress, refrigerator, dresser, and other furniture--with an incredible amount of care. Nothing felt rushed or careless. They took the time to make sure everything was properly wrapped, protected, and secured before loading it. Edgar and Ramon were genuinely exceptional. Moving can be stressful, but having a team that you can completely trust with your belongings makes such a huge difference. Their professionalism, care, and attention to detail gave us tremendous peace of mind. I would 100% recommend Edgar, Ramon, and Roadway Moving to anyone looking for a moving company. If you have the opportunity to have Edgar and Ramon handle your move, you're in great hands! tl;dr Dispatch was great, crew was horrible…read more I want to be fair. Dispatch was professional, helpful, and the price was reasonable, especially for short notice. I wasn't pushed to give more of a tip, although I did tip more than recommended. I was initially really satisfied, but have since discovered they deliberately damaged a 6-level stacked metal card cabinet. When I included it in the inventory, I wasn't aware there were still items in the drawers. Our move was extremely chaotic, and the moving service that we used prior, checked all drawers to make sure they were empty, before moving items. People make mistakes, especially in stressful circumstances. Nonetheless, I accept that the responsibility of checking was still ultimately mine. However, if I had been made aware there were still items inside, I would have apologized, and either offered to pay more, or moved the drawers myself. After arriving at the new location, my son heard clinking sounds, as one of the movers walked past him smirking, while shaking and swinging the drawers, one in each hand. He then threw the drawers on their sides, onto one of my metal bookcases, which was apparently repeated for all 6 stacks. Between the throwing and shaking, the outer surfaces of the drawers and top of the bookcase were scratched and scuffed. The individual drawers were so badly dented that I had trouble putting several back in once removed, to retrieve the items that had been flung into the very back, past the drawers. They could have refused to take the cabinet, like they did with several boxes I had pointed out at the beginning of the move as needing to be prioritized. I had to beg and offer them more money to get those boxes onto the truck, because they said they'd already taken enough items. It wasn't until they called dispatch that they were told I had preemptively paid more the day before, because I didn't want to risk undercounting the boxes and other items. Dispatch said I didn't owe anything more, and told them to take the boxes. I was trying to understand why this crew didn't simply decline to move the cabinet, like with the boxes. They would have been well within their rights, because it violated their company's policy. Given the smirking and throwing, the only conclusion I can make is that this crew found messing with customers and damaging their items, fun.

Based on my estimates of the time the job would take, they were much cheaper than any of the 5 other companies we got quotes from. In the end though, the job did take longer than expected. They used three employees and a large truck. They provided blankets, plastic wrap, and tape to properly protect all items for transport. If they noticed any preexisting damage on the furniture, they notified us promptly so we were aware. Initially, they worked quite efficiently, but began to slow down during the second half of pick-up. What I thought would take about 4 hours ended up being a 6 hour job, including a 45 minute drive to the new place. They still came in cheaper than the next best quote we were considering, but not by much. When they finished the move, they left a mountain of tape, plastic, and cardboard, which they supplied, in our hallway. We thought they would clean it up before leaving, but we were left with that task, which was disappointing. They require a $50 + tax deposit to reserve a move. You pay the balance after all the work is done. They offer a discount if you pay in cash. Overall, they were professional and moving is grueling work so I have no major complaints, other than the debris they left behind. But be mindful that the time-based quote may add up, so be prepared to spend more than you might anticipate.
