Such a cute spot for a sweet treat!…read more My partner and I decided to stop in to split a post-lunch sweet treat, and their peanut butter chocolate dessert was incredible. The peanut butter was fluffy and the rich chocolate complimented it perfectly (the decorative chocolate piece on top was also a nice touch). The inside of the bakery was cute and cozy, and the outside tables would be an excellent spot to relax on a less hot day. I can't wait to come back and try their other sweets next time I'm in the area.

I was surprised that not only did they respond, they responded quickly and with a "yes. It took us a week, with their guidance, to finalize the order. Not much more I could've asked for but Kailey Cakes even dropped off a special cupcake for the 1 child that attended the wedding. They went above and beyond. Thank you Nicole for all your help. Perenn is a gorgeous addition to Main Street in Franklin. I was down here for the opening last…read moresummer, and finally was able to make my way back on the way to Leiper's Fork for some breakfast to-go. This spot is busy busy busy, and thankfully they have separate ordering lines for takeout and dine-in. My husband and I got two breakfast sandwiches to-go, with sides of breakfast potatoes. You can choose what meat you'd like on your sandwich, and we went with sausage. It's an upcharge to get your sandwich on a croissant, and then another upcharge to add on sauce or another topping. All in all, we spent more than $40 for two breakfast sandwiches and sides of potatoes. You get what you pay for ... everything was delicious! The croissant was warm and flaky, and the eggs on the sandwich are served souffle-style, which means they melted in with the croissant and cheese for an ooey-gooey bite. While there is open seating outside, we ended up eating in our car because the heat index was 100°. I'd absolutely return to Perenn, and would plan ahead with a reservation to dine in next time!

As luck would have it, we celebrated my mother-in-law's 80th birthday with a towering custom cake from IveyCake. And let me tell you. Owner Ivey Childers makes a mean cake! They are literally works of art made by a creative decorator who demands perfection and uses the finest ingredients. The cake is very dense, what our family considers to be the ultimate texture for a cake. The frosting is super thick and very sweet. You can't eat too much at one time, which is probably a good thing. We had hoped for some sort of confirmation email to let us know the cake was finished. So we showed up on faith alone hoping the cake was ready for our celebration, and there it was! Whew! And not only will IveyCake create your beautiful custom cake, but they even sell cupcakes and small cakes on a daily basis in their adorable little shop. Go check them out!

I found this bakery by accident when I was in the area trying out a new perfume store. I'm so glad…read moreI did! This bakery would be considered, "an old school", homestyle bakery. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had thumbprint cookies. I'm a huge fan of thumbprint cookies. There's something so nostalgic about them from when I was a child. What makes their thumbprint cookies the best is that they make them with caramel! Most bakeries don't sell thumbprint cookies and that ones that do, I've never seen them with caramel. These are little amazing nuggets of goodness! If their shortbread was a little more tender, it would probably be the #1 bakery item, I've ever had. The magic is in the caramel! It's so soft, gooey and perfectly sweet. It's the perfect pairing with the lightly sweetened shortbread. Since I had the cookies, I haven't stopped thinking about them. Came back into town for the day with my kids and I made sure this was our first stop! I will give you a heads up that the parking is a little funky, but nothing major. I'll be back soon!
