So for my guest bathroom that has a tub, I decided to find my own glass guy. After a few conversations after signing up on a project in Yelp, I settled down with J&M and it did not disappoint. First off, the quoting process. I had no idea what were the industry jargons and I went along with the most trendy stuff and it was pricey. After chatting around, I got back to J&M because their reviews had the best quality indicator. So I asked them why they quoted me so high. Immediately they could see the problem that I was comparing different products and was able to meet my budget with the product that I was actually looking for. And they responded so quickly in the initial quoting process and gave me all the details including how soon ahead I needed to request their measurement and making appointment. Then as soon as the tile guy finished the tilework around the tub, I pinged J&M for an appointment, incredibly, they could do it the next day without even coming for a measurement. So far I only provided my tub size! And indeed they showed up, on time, and only took less than an hour to install. Marco did a great job and it looks nice, steady and budget friendly. Got quotes from 3 different GC's like anyone would, and he seemed to have a good established process, comparable pricing and upfront and transparent. Project start date can vary depending on your project complexity since he's always backed-up, but I preferred a later start date anyway due to prior commitments. About a month later we started work and his lead man, Huan, was basically here for 6 days a week morning til evening, while Eddie was easy to reach for any questions and issues. Receipts are itemized and sent over for reimbursement so it's organized. Two 'change orders' for my project: There was a slight hiccup when Eddie let me know his concrete guy was gone for the next month but he proposed an alternate solution to the exterior stairs using a wood combo which i found to be a fine replacement at a cheaper price and without the wait. Second change was when i wanted a junction box added to the outside and that was not an issue. Overall satisfied with Eddie and Huan's work and the outcome is great. He's straightforward and organized and everything is as written in the contract. I think they can pretty much do any kind of work, like a one stop shop. Will be calling him up for any future projects.

He created a professional plan of the work with measurements, his contract had a very clear scope of work with breakdown of milestones and payments, and he and his crew were very communicative. They completely transformed my garage, removing an old work bench that was installed into the studs, did a full commercial grade epoxy install with flakes and polyaspartic clear coat, and sheet rocked in the walls and ceilings without any damage to the existing structures. I have referred multiple people I know to Eddie and I hopefully am able to work with him on future home remodel projects.

What started off as a pleasant and decent quality set of projects turned out to be a total…read moredisaster, disappointment and huge nightmare. Eric the owner is knowledgeable and professional but unfortunately their dedication and attention to us and the quality of their work dramatically declined after a few months. Not just quality of work, but communication, transparency, dedication and more. We had them work on several projects on our house including a couple of bathrooms, stairs and walls which we were mostly happy with although we had to micromanage a lot of their work, shoddy craftsmanship and continually chase after them. But the last major project, a big walk in closet rebuild was where the biggest nightmare came in where they charged us a lot of money and did incredibly low quality work. We hired a structural engineer for them to follow the plans and they agreed to do it but they didn't even come close to following the plans or the outlined contract. How do we know...because ...We had several LEAKS and when we opened up the walls we saw that they cut corners on almost everything including major structural framework. Not only violating the contract but leaving us unsafe. The project manager/foreman was virtually absent during all of this part of the project and frankly I'm not sure if he knew too much about construction and building codes. People they hire are not all that experienced, it seems, so if they are not being watched by a foreman who knows what's going on, they mickey mouse low quality work throughout the project (we saw this with other parts of the other projects we worked with them as well, where we had to continually follow up and micromanage all of their work.) We had to hire several other contractors and inspectors to redo their shabby work which ended up costing us a lot of money, time, and stress. (In their defense, they did attempt to rectify some of the work but it was only after a fight and a fraction of what they were contracted to do). This was disappointing because not only did it cost us a lot of money and unimaginable stress but it felt like a betrayal since we had been working with them for so long and we felt a real connection with them and their team, only to be disrespected and betrayed in the end.
