This place always hits. Always a great experience!

This place always hits. Been coming here for years and we've never been disappointed.

I tried their Tokyo roll which I regrettably have to say was not good and I would recommend skipping - it's completely fried which I didn't realize, but the flavor inside is not very good either. My friends all loved this place though, so I trust it's good and would come back to try something different

Super fresh and delicious Japanese food! The atmosphere is great, there's even a backyard, and the staff are so friendly. Perfect for dine-in or takeout -- highly recommend!

Randomly strolling around Brooklyn on a cold day led my friends and I to Sapporo Ichiban. We were a group of around 6-7 and they seated us instantly. The service was good and fast. I ordered a ramen and it was delicious. Can't complain too much but also nothing super outstanding or groundbreaking.

This place is UNBELIEVABLE!!! Once as a Greenpoint local I dined here 3 days per week, and now I drive here from Connecticut because I love their sushi so much. I have been a customer here since their opening day. Portions are very generous, sushi is top notch very fresh it melts in your mouth. I can keep typing my compliment but it would be better if you just stoped in, and you'll know what I'm talking about. Owner is always there to oversee and make sure that your experience is one that makes you come back,

My monthly order from Sapporo Ichiban, at 622 Manhattan Avenue, Rick shrimp, Kani salads, Pork Katsu, California & spicy crab rolls,

The food is delicious & filling , it came quickly and was packed good . I always order 4 Kani salads, they are so good.

I usually have lower expectations for vegetarian ramen, but this was quite delicious. The broth was flavorful and the toppings were nice and varied. The menma was especially good. Pleasantly surprised by the quantity as well. I added tofu for $2 thinking this wouldn't fill me up, but it ended up being totally unnecessary. I walked away from the meal stuffed. Also loved the pleasant ambience in the backyard patio. Can't speak to any of the sushi, but for vegetarian ramen I'd definitely recommend it.

Got takeout for a nice dinner and food was just okay. Service was fast when I was waiting and the inside of the place looks great. A lot of people got sushi so maybe that's where I went wrong. Dont get me wrong, food was fine just nothing to rave about.

My lunch date and I were impressed how much food we got during the lunch special, it's a great deal and their variety was tasty. Very well decorated inside, cozy spot. The staff were quick and very attentive.

Great service, cucumber lemon water, moist towelette, good variety of rolls. Awesome neighborhood spot! Haven't gotten the lunch special yet but it looks like a great value. Cute decor too! A date night staple for us.

I ordered out from Sapporo Ichiban because I could not go out. Food came faster than I expected. I went to eat at the place long time ago and other than that I only got deliveries. About the quality of fishes, the price should be lower than this, but I understand the cost of living in Greenpoint, so I look over it. My order was..... - Shoyu Ramen: broth with braised pork belly, egg, shredded, wood-ear mushroom, bamboo shoots and fish cakes. 6/10 - Mixed Seafood Salad: Shrimp, Octopus, Squid, Kani with spring mix. 6/10 - Manhattan Roll: Spicy crunchy salmon roll, tuna, salmon and avocado on top. 6/10 - Tuna Jalapeno Roll: Small 8 pcs 8/10 - Bonzai Tree: Crab avocado, caviar, ebi wrapped with cucumber. 7/10 The score I gave are quality/price/and taste. I can say if you want to eat take out quality sushi in a budget, Sapporo will be another choice that isn't too bad.

I've been to Sapporo Ichiban a few times and have consistently had a solid experience. The sushi is fresh and the rice is the right consistency, temperature, and flavor (sometimes the nigiri pieces have a bit too much rice for my preference, but it's generally fine). The servers are friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is cute and relaxed. I also appreciate the unlimited house sake that they serve if you meet the minimum per person charge, which I believe is $15. Definitely an added bonus!

I came here tonight after a networking event with 3 other people I just met at the event. We waited 49 minutes for all 4 people to get their food. We were desperately hungry by that point. Our event didn't serve food. We were here from 830 to at least 1040PM. Customers might want to clarify what "Free" sake means because each person spent over $20 at my table and it was only $15 to get free hot sake and we got none. 2.0 star food Fish that's not very fresh Ramen that's not very flavorful except the chili flakes Rice that's hard Salmon skin in salmon skin roll that's so burnt that it actually tastes bitter Pro: there was some potential especially with the varied (some might say overwhelming) menu 2.5 star price $4.95 to $6.95 for a hand roll is reasonable IF only they got my order correct $25.99 for a sashimi sample is also reasonable IF only the fish was fresh and didn't take 44 minutes to be given to us 1 star cleanliness Our table wasn't clean when we sat down Water glasses seem mucky The women's bathroom toilet leaks so the floor is wet with some unknown liquid and I was wearing a maxi dress. I judge cleanliness according to how likely I would use the restroom. 0 star service We waited 49 minutes for our food. 40 minutes after waiting, the ramen came out. 44 minutes after waiting, the sashimi came out. 49 minutes after waiting, my friend's cut rolls came out. 49 minutes after waiting, I got 4 cut rolls when I actually ordered 4 rolls. WORSE part: the server argued that I never said hand rolls when my table heard that I said it 2x. I was so hungry, I simply said "I will eat what I have." We served ourselves our own water (carafe dropped) and I cleaned my own spot at the table, so we tried our best to alleviate what is considered a "busy" Tuesday night. Dinner rush is over by 830PM and people who sat down after us got their food first--which makes this situation more frustrating.

Reservations become available 14 days in advance on Resy, so I'd highly recommend booking early to secure a table during normal eating hours. Sadly, since it was just the two of us, we couldn't sample as much of the menu as we wanted. Our server recommended a hot appetizer and a fancier option from their Summer Special menu: KARAAGE - 14 Each order came with five thick pieces of chicken karaage. The chicken arrived hot and juicy, seasoned well enough to be enjoyed on its own or dipped in the side of shichimi mayo. This was a great appetizer to share, and I'd recommend it if you're looking for a reliable classic. TEMAKI SET - 95 Served in roughly an 8"x8" wooden box, this set was lavishly topped toro, Hokkaido uni, ikura, and possibly Iberian ham, with crispt nori sheets on the side to make DIY handrolls. After scooping a bit of everything into a little wrap, I was greeted with the most intense, fresh sea flavors. The toro and Iberian ham were fatty and buttery, blending seamlessly with the velvety smooth uni and the fresh, bursting pops of ikura. I had to pause after every bite just to deeply savor it, and I lost count of how many times I said, "Wow, this is so good." Since I don't live in NYC, I generally avoid repeating restaurants even if I enjoyed them. However, Ozakaya is an exception to this rule -- it's easily one of the best meals I've eaten during all my recent visits. I don't know where they source their seafood, but it's incredibly fresh and packed with umami. Even days after, I'm still thinking about the velvety sweetness of that uni, and I can't wait for my next visit.

The menu is pretty diverse with various appetizers, sushi, and also ramen/curry so your standard izakaya fare. One of my favorite dishes here has been the chirashi. The fish was very fresh and it's pretty affordable. It's been open for a few years, so clearly it has a good enough formula to keep the neighborhood happy. I have been here once before, but returned last week after dining several meals at Tomoni in Jackson Heights. Apparently, the owners are friends. Nonetheless, I needed to make the comparison. After my first few bites of their Tora Don and Chirashi Don, it was clear that this restaurant has the better quality seafood. Each slice of sashimi had vibrant colors, clean taste, and the proper texture. Tomoni is not bad, but fall slightly short of this caliber. With that said, there is an even farther gap between their rice quality. Though Tora is very good, Tomoni produces nearly perfect texture and acidity for my taste buds. Other than the best omakase restaurants in NYC, Tomoni shines as one of the best versions of sushi rice in the five boroughs. Service is good and space is cute. If I have a craving for some decent Japanese food, I would drive 20 minutes here for a meal anytime.

While wandering through Bed-Stuy on a weekday evening, my husband and I decided to try out this new…read moresushi spot. It wasn't terrible--but I had a lot of mixed feelings. Food: 3/5 I'm a huge sushi fan, so I was excited when I saw a deluxe sashimi set on the menu. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark. The scallop was thinly sliced and lacked the rich texture I was hoping for. The salmon and other cuts were decent, but short and oddly shaped--chunky yet small, which made the whole presentation feel a bit off for something labeled deluxe. We also tried to branch out and ordered the short rib entree. For $21, it was shockingly small--definitely a single-person portion, not sharable. I added extra ikura to a salmon donburi bowl for $2, but it was barely a teaspoon's worth--just enough to say it was there. Oddly, the salmon slices in that bowl were thinner than the sashimi we had just eaten, and overall, it left me still hungry even after sharing a maki roll. Lastly, my husband ordered a green salad, which somehow took the entire meal service to arrive. When it finally came, it was just plain romaine, cucumbers, radish, and dressing. For a dinner that clocked in at over $150 (after tip), we definitely left underwhelmed. Service: 3/5 This part wasn't bad, just confusing. We were seated quickly, but the pacing of the meal was strange. Our seaweed salad and soups came out promptly, but the green salad came last, after the hot dishes and nearly after my husband finished eating. Also, a small thing--but when I'm paying $16 for four oysters, I want to know what kind they are. The menu just said "West Coast oysters," but our server couldn't tell us the variety or origin. Not a huge deal, but it added to a general lack of polish that didn't quite match the pricing. I don't think I'd return. For the price, there are better sushi options in Brooklyn with higher quality, better portions, and clearer service. Still, I appreciate new spots opening up in the neighborhood, and I'm always happy to try something new. Hopefully they refine the menu and service with time.

We started with the salmon belly carpaccio which I'd say isn't really a carpaccio because the salmon isn't sliced as thinly as you'd expect. But! I mention that just to set expectations. Nomenclature aside, it's an excellent appetizer. Served in a truffle and ponzu sauce, the salmon is lightly seared which yields two different textures to the fish. It practically melts in your mouth. Highly recommend this dish. For my entree I went with the trio don, which is 6 pieces of sashimi served over your choice of plain or sushi rice (sushi rice for me). The fish was fresh and flavorful. The portion was perfect for me. My boyfriend ordered a yellowtail roll and enjoyed that as well. We also shared a carafe of the cold house sake. I'd definitely come back and try more items on the menu. It's great for sharing and trying new dishes. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable.
