I usually have lower expectations for vegetarian ramen, but this was quite delicious. The broth was flavorful and the toppings were nice and varied. The menma was especially good. Pleasantly surprised by the quantity as well. I added tofu for $2 thinking this wouldn't fill me up, but it ended up being totally unnecessary. I walked away from the meal stuffed. I've been to Sapporo Ichiban a few times and have consistently had a solid experience. The sushi is fresh and the rice is the right consistency, temperature, and flavor (sometimes the nigiri pieces have a bit too much rice for my preference, but it's generally fine). The servers are friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is cute and relaxed. WORSE part: the server argued that I never said hand rolls when my table heard that I said it 2x. I was so hungry, I simply said "I will eat what I have." We served ourselves our own water (carafe dropped) and I cleaned my own spot at the table, so we tried our best to alleviate what is considered a "busy" Tuesday night. Upon stumbling into this place, because honestly we were headed to the place right across the street but decided to stay put being that we were already there and menu looked decent. Hostess/Server not the friendliest of kind. No greeting at the door. Just sat us and went about her business. We ordered Edamame to start and some spicy tuna rolls which in my opinion were put together pretty sloppy. But they were good We ordered Ramen. Miso Ramen for my kid and chicken ramen for me. As soon as the chicken ramen was placed in front of me I automatically didn't like the smell of it. When I tasted it, it was bland with no flavor and I informed the server that I didn't want it. That I did not like it. She then asked me if I wanted to take it home. Like she didn't hear me say "I don't like it"... she left it on the table. The Miso ramen was delicious so I started to share it with my kid. She seen this and didn't offer me another plate or anything. Asked if I wanted the chicken ramen wrapped up. Again told her I didn't like it. She proceeded to say "you will have to pay for it", I told her that I wasn't paying for something that I barely touched and didn't like. She then said, "If I don't pay for it, that she'd have to pay for it" Like that was my problem. I found it really hard to understand why not ask me if she could get me something else or just remove it from my check. Before we were even done eating she brings over the check and asks if there was anything else that she can get us... wait? I didn't even ask her for the check. So I asked her "Are you kicking me out?" Cause that's what it felt like to me. She also stated that she removed the Chicken ramen off my check but no that she wasn't kicking me out. Yeah OK. PAID MY BILL AND LEFT. Very unprofessional and the woman clearly didn't like her job. The following day I already had a fever muscle aches and I just could not get up. The amount of pain I am still having from my fever and stomach flu because of their sushi is insane. when I have this meal, I will tell you I was astonished because of how lovely this meal was it just tasted fantastic. We ordered a Katsu rice bowl and spicy cucumbers and Ramen. I know this place gets compared to Ichiran a lot, but I've went to both places and I honestly like this place better. First of all the rice bowl was so delicious. I usually never really finish all of my food, but this rice bowl I ate it down to the last grain. The Ramen was also really flavorful and nice and you could also get refills for not that much. The spicy cucumbers and dumplings that we ordered were nice sides that complemented the main meal. The service was pretty fast. We didn't have to wait that long even though it was a busy night we waited about 20 minutes to get seated for four people. The workers were also friendly and got our food out quickly. The ambience was nice. They had different seating areas and the place where we sat in was nice. I felt like they had a nice space for people to eat and have deep talks. Went here for the first time for a delayed Father's day lunch . The ambience is very casual, very courteous service, and spotless. After sitting at a front table we encountered street noise and noticed there is a great outdoor garden in back! We were promptly moved despite having already been served, and not a blink or eye roll . The shrimp rice, spicy tuna rolls, miso soup were excellent, but the star was the perfect kumamoto oysters. My fiancée and I got takeout and ordered: - Eel Avocado Roll - Spicy Shrimp Tempura Roll - Spider Roll - Sweet Heart Roll - Seaweed Salad The eel avocado and shrimp tempura were pretty good. They did mess up our order; they forgot the spider roll, so I couldn't tell ya what it's like. However, they did throw in a free California roll, which was nice. I was excited to try the sweet heart roll, but it really wasn't that great. Didn't taste that fresh or savory. The seaweed salad was also pretty eh. Not too much flavor, but not too bad either. The staff was friendly and had our order ready in time, which was a plus. We were glad to try it out, but will probably try to find other sushi in this area of Brooklyn next time. read more

Great service! This is the only sushi spot I eat at in Williamsburg. So tasty and always fresh. That's one problem I keep having with other sushi spots is that the fish never tastes fresh and super expensive. Sapporo is super yummy, definently recommend and the restaurant is pretty and cozy. Our meal at Sapporo Ichiban started off fine, and the staff was perfectly friendly, but we soon realized that the food was not up to par. We split the love boat for two. First off, the pieces of fish are huge, which my dad taught me was a bad sign at a young age. Some items were slightly better than others, but overall the sushi did not taste fresh, and was very fishy. Also, the fish itself was far too warm. Not quite room temperature, but definitely nowhere near cold enough to be served. Hopefully we just hit Sapporo Ichiban on a bad day, but in a city of many good sushi restaurants, we'll pass on it next time. Sapporo Ichiban is a nice spot for a low key dinner. My friend and I came in here on a Monday night and were seated immediately. We shared the sashimi pizza and one of the combo sets. First of all, 4 words...what a great deal! The sashimi pizza was very tasty and the flavors went together very well. The amount of fish on top is very generous and they had these crispy noodle looking things on top that made it crunchy. It was a nice texture in my mouth. The other set was ginormous as well! For $15 we got like 24 pieces, which is... a lot! I remember coming here like 8 years ago. It's nice to see its still here. There's seating outside in the garden area and they keep the light kind of dim and romantic.
