Pkhali - steamed beetroot, carrots or green beans with walnuts & spices served with lavashi

On our last trip to Winnipeg we decided to try something different. A quick Google search brought up Saperavi and we decided to check it out. The place was deserted, owing to the Coronavirus stuff that was just appearing on the horizon. Service was top-notch and staff were super friendly. Wait staff were patient and explained the menu and had good recommendations. We chose to go with the Pkhali and the Khachapuri Imeruli (no running eggs!) for starters and the Chkmeruli for our main course. That was a lot of food for the two of us, and we had plenty of leftovers. The pkhali was fresh and had a lot of flavor and the Lavashi was fresh. The khachapuri was a better version of cheesey bread and was the best dish. We opted for the Chkmeruli with a side of potatoes. The chicken was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The meat just fell off the bones. Hope that this COVID stuff is behind us soon, as we would like to return and try a few more things from the menu.

I wasn't sure what to expect of Georgian food but it was absolutely delicious! Corydon restaurants can be hit or miss (in my opinion) but this one is unique and so delicious and full of flavour that I didn't expect from this region. This is what we had and it was from our server who recommended it. Khachapuri Imeruli ($10) cheese filled baked flat bread - this is a crowd pleaser because it's cheese stuffed into bread. The 3 cheeses were all local stuff we've had before. I feel like there was havarti. It would've been more interesting if it was cheeses from Georgia. It's their most popular item but I wouldn't order it again as it's quite straightforward. Gupta ($22) Lamb meatballs in tomato / cream sauce seasoned with Georgian spices and served with rice - rich sauce and was sooooo interesting in all of its flavours. 3 large meatballs. A very good dish. Chkmeruli ($19 or $23) chicken in cream and garlic sauce cooked in a clay pots, served with rice - this one is a fave. It doesn't sound as good as it tastes but it is. I couldn't figure out the flavours but they were complex and rich. We ordered the smaller portion at $19 for 3 chicken thighs. Loved the sauce on the rice. Service is super friendly and vibe is more traditional in the decor. We happened to be next to a large Russian family party who ended up turning on the music and dancing into the late night. Can't wait to go back to try more dishes. They even have this soup dumpling that's popular which reminds me of the Chinese soup dumplings. Will have to try that next.

3.5/5, +.5 for service This is the first time I've ever tried Georgian food, and I was really impressed. I came here with friends with an open mind, not knowing what to expect for the most part. It wasn't too busy on a Friday night, although the server we had said it's normally busier than this. No biggie, since I had a bit of time limit that night and wanted to finish within 90 minutes. We ordered the khachapuri imeruli (cheese filled baked flat bread), lots of khinkali (traditional Georgian giant dumplings), lamb shashlik, and the chaqapuli (veal stew in a clay pot). Overall we really enjoyed everything. The flat bread was especially delicious and was filled juicy with cheese. The giant dumplings were also delicious, reminded me of the Shanghai kind but bigger and thicker. The lamb shashlik was also very good, although low on portions. The chaqapuli was probably our least favourite dish as it was ridiculously small in size (although still tasty). Service was excellent. Everyone was very welcoming and educated on Georgian food, so you certainly won't get lost. Will definitely return! It's not everyday where you try something new.

Great Georgian restaurant! The food was great. Service was great. Food prep was a little slow but worth the wait. Lovely atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating.

Delicious cheesy bread with extremely tasty tomato and cilantro spread. Wow.

They are a great balance of every ingredient they have available. Whether it's the beef or chicken, they are full of flavor And very filling. The Dunaire was also fantastically full of flavour and filling. The fruit flavoured bottle drinks are also very tasty and refreshing. The staff are very friendly and helpful and accommodating. Being that it is a café, the space is limited so you might want to plan to take out but There are a number of seats available if you dine in. It's not fancy dining, but you're there for the food. Definitely going back.

I happened to passed by heading home from working some OT, so I decided to give it a try. Service here is over the counter. You order at the cashier, and if you're dining in they'll bring the food to you. I had the lamb donair platter, which included rice, greek salad, hummus, garlic sauce, and turnips. I really liked it! The lamb donair pieces had that nice sweet taste to it, the salad was fresh, and I liked both the hummus and garlic sauce. Not much here in terms of ambiance, but I considered this as quick dine in; I was in and out in under 30 mins. They don't accept American Express here, so cash/debit/Visa/Mastercard only!

The first time I stopped here I tried the not that expensive Borscht Soup. It tasted more like beets the vegetables more than anything else and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was very filling. The crab meat salad came with lots of fruit pieces on the side which was interesting. The mashed crab meat concoction in the middle was cold like potato salad or coleslaw salad and it was pretty good. I loved the small pieces of crab meat and potatoes! They were tasty. The lemon soufflé was just okay but hard to stop eating. You can't just take one spoon bite, you gotta eat all of that soft fluffy cream because it's delicious and easy to digest. My friend liked his Pecan chocolate pie and he said the chicken soup was okay but I noticed that it didn't have a whole lot of chicken pieces and noodles in it. Service was polite and happy to answer questions. I found the waitress helpful.

I found the battering of the schnitzel to be a tad too doughy for my likely, but it was easy to remove one side of batter and enjoy a slightly lighter meal. It's a cool spot and it was filled with regulars which gives it a homey vibe. They'll accommodate big groups but it's not really the spot for massive group meals. The dining room has a max cap of 48 and tables are set for 4.
