This place has a good vibe and a very nice layout. There is an outdoor patio area, the lounge and the restaurant. The best thing - they are open at 11:30am - perfect for lunch. Be sure to come early or book a table because the place does fill up with regulars daily and very quickly. The food never disappointed me or my company. The server at the lounge, Aretti, would always make sure to let us know about the special of the day, and you can trust her suggestions with confidence. Plates look so delicious each time. Make sure to request the Famous Strawberry Lemonade! The Mocktail version is my favorite.

Pleasantly surprised with this place - pretty upscale food at a decent price! I got the 4 course NYE menu and it was only $40! The staff was super nice and I had to take most of it home because it was so filling -- definitely good bang for your buck!

What a great find! Tucked in a strip mall off Pembina Hwy. There's a small patio on the parking lot which was full the night we dined. Dinner was goat cheese salad and one of the Artisan pizzas. And wine. The salad was scrumptious. Fresh tomatoes, sun dried and goat cheese. Just the right amount of dressing. The pizza with arugula was sooooo good. Portions are quite generous. The pics are what 2 people couldn't finish. Sorry Yelpers I never get my act together to take pics of the food before it's eaten! Service was outstanding. Friendly. Efficient.

    Complimentary Starter Bread with Butter

    1) Total number of guests- 2 pax 2) Time- 11:45 am (Lunch) 3) Guest Welcome- Average- the server didn't have a smile or happy attitude, she didn't introduce herself upon our arrival and gave only one menu to share! Upon request she got another menu and mentioned that due to Covid-19 they are not reusing the menus (printed menus were filled in the plastic file pockets. In my opinion it could have been easily reused if wiped down with sanitizer and reused to save paper and plastic use). 4) Meals ordered- a) Yellow fin Tuna Cheese salad and b) Spaghetti Alfredo with chicken breast. a) The salad had just the right amount of oil and vinegar in it. It didn't taste over the top with the vinegar. Adding a bit of black pepper enhances the taste of the tomatoes in the salad(you can request the server to bring you some black pepper). Tuna tasted very good ! b) The Alfredo sauce lacked flavor and the spaghetti got pretty dry after a few morsel. Requested the server to get some extra Alfredo. It took almost 10-12 mins mins for the Alfredo sauce to be made and the spaghetti turned more dry and cold in the meanwhile. The extra Alfredo sauce served tasted bitter (excess parmesan cheese was added to the sauce). This was disappointing! The chicken was an add on and was grilled right. It was soft and juicy! The best part of the visit was the complimentary bread served at the beginning of the meal. It was soft and warm. The butter immediately melted and intensified the flavor of the bread. 5) Restaurant Ambiance- Overall very clean and peaceful. Lunch was not very busy. Since it was a business meeting we had a good environment to discuss matters. 6) Overall - Average experience as compared to other visits.

    Home fettucine!

Homemade fettucine?? Yes, please!! I had been craving spaghetti and meatballs for awhile so finally went to Nicolinas. At first glance of the menu, I was convinced I was going to satisfy my meatball craving. That is until the waitress informed me that one of the chef specials being featured was homemade fettuccine with a pomodoro sauce, basil a bison mozzarella (apparently this is a high quality cheese). As soon as I heard that, I had to push aside my meatball craving. Homemade fettuccine always wins! And it did not disappoint. Thick, long noodles covered in a rich tomato sauce with bits of melted cheese... And you know an Italian restaurant is good when you get freshly grated Parmesan and not the shaker stuff. With our meal, we also got delicious hot bread sticks that I wish could've been refilled over and over as well as a garlicky caeser salad. I will definitely be back to satisfy my meatball craving!

    Calamari

Was feeling like Italian as I hadn't eaten it in a while. Found this place to be okay, wasn't super flavourful, it wasn't too bland either but definitely could have used some spices. Started with the calamari and it was alright, but the batter needed some more flavour and the sauce was just "meh". The cannelloni wasn't very stuffed, it was more flat and a bit disappointing. The tomato sauce was good, but there was a strong tang in the cannelloni. I'm used to the soft taste of the ricotta cheese, so I wasn't expecting that. It wasn't the worst, but it wasn't the best either. Ended my meal off with the Sacher Torte and it was yummy. I wish I had someone to share it with cause it was rich and too much sugar for me, but otherwise good. Great and friendly service.

Brunzino with ratatouille. Washed down with some excellent chardonnay.

(Didn't get a photo) but it came with a…read moreslightly warm toasted baguette, weird (because it didn't go with the olives) shredded vegan cheese; and the olives were ice cold. The different contrast made it an undesirable combination. Told the waiter, who was not very nice, even from the get go! He just took the plate without trying to fix or make it "right". He came back and I inquired, " so, you're not going to fix or rectify this " "uh, I took it off your bill" and walked away. Was not very welcoming. My friends even said so. There were interesting art pieces on the wall but didn't really look around. I got a pizza (vegan) it was meh... I don't really want pizza. Then my friends got the calamari which they loved; along with a pasta and some beef entree which they both loved. Probably will not ever go back.

Even though…read moreit was a beautiful evening, we sat inside at a wonderful table for 4 in the back of the restaurant at a table with a view over the river. This section is elevated above the main floor and has wonderful golden leather chairs where I could have lingered for hours. The menu is broad with Italian, Spanish, and even African dishes so it's not hard to find something tempting. To start we shared some bruschetta-there are six varieties and you can choose 3. We LOVED the pear/prosciutto as well as the Brie/apple varieties but the standard tomato variety was also great. At 6 pieces to an order you need 4 people (like us) unless you're only having a salad (like my wife) as your main. We also tried the Piri Piri chicken-very flavorful, the paella-yummy, and the chicken and chorizo pasta. They serve cocktails and the margarita and the whiskey sour were both standouts for their quality even if they were a touch lite on booze. Our server was super friendly and helpful. Loved the vibe, location and service. Recommended.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the place was rather lively even on a Friday afternoon…read more In terms of the food we shared an order of poutine and their blackened chicken fettuccine. Poutine was decent - not the best I've had in town but not the worst. The portion was very small, and I was surprised to see it priced almost as much as an entree on the bill - they don't have it on the menu a la carte but you can upgrade a side of fries to poutine for $4. Since the pasta dish didn't normally come with fries I asked if they could just do a side of poutine and they said yes (and then charged $14 for it). It wasn't worth it. The blackened chicken fettuccine was disappointing. Our host highly recommended it, and it's a dish I generally enjoy enough I even make it at home. The blackening rub they use had almost no spice, which to me defeats part of the point of "blackened" chicken - the taste was more on the herby side. The noodles themselves were bland and the sauce was almost non-existent - sadly underseasoned. I chopped the chicken up into tiny bits and mixed it all together so that they flavors from the chicken could add at least some excitement to the pasta, but while it helped it didn't quite save the dish. Overall the experience was fairly mediocre. Maybe I should have gotten a burger, but I went with the host's recommendation instead for a dish I normally quite enjoy and came away disappointed. The price of the side of poutine is on me - I didn't ask ahead of time. But it came out to be nearly double what I'd expected for half as much as I'd thought it would be.
