Great tapas for sharing! Visiting Winnipeg and our friends wanted to take us to this place, they had been before and really enjoyed everything. Located inside the Forks market, this cool small tapas place really impressed me. We ordered 8 dishes and that was plenty for 4 adults. Our server recommended 7, we got excited and ordered 1 more, the last dish we barley finished. Everything tasted great, and great portions for tapas. Service was really good. Highly recommend making reservation for this place. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and drinks I would come back.

We went to The Forks for dinner to have a few bites from various places, and decided to finish our meal with the featured Lobster Risotto from Passero. Even though we were seated outside the restaurant, the server came out to bring our food and serve us at our table. The chef came and checked on us, which was a very nice touch. We watched the risotto being made from scratch (all that stirring) and the end result was cream but with a lasting bite; the dish was full of pistachios which in my opinion, outshone the lobster (in a good way). When we were done, I was so impressed, I promptly purchased a gift certificate for Christmas (and without expiry, which is a plus, in a pandemic). I'll definitely be back, as their menu is ever changing.

Love the service - we went impromptu to Forks Market to walk and came across this place. They were gracious to take our walk in and had the most amazing food!

Solid place. Set amongst the evolving forks dining hall - it is one of my faves in the city tied with Segovia. Menu is split amongst antipasto, salad, raw, pasta, meat & vegetable and sides. Order 2-3 dishes per person and share away. I don't love pastas but theirs are very good especially the carbonara. The menu changes every season or so. Some standout dishes: - Local tomatoes, citrus, buffalo mozzarella, basil, Calabrian vinaigrette $16 - Beef tartare, parmesan, crisp potato, prosciutto relish, egg, sourdough $20 - Yellow-fin tuna carpaccio, tapenade, aioli, dijon, crisp artichoke, fennel, orange $20 - Spaghetti 'carbonara', guanciale, egg, black pepper, garbanzo cream $21 - Octopus, sofrito, fingerling potato, creme fraiche, basil $24 Service is ultra professional and knowledgeable. Reservations recommended.

I'm going to post photos that are not the food they presented. They are photos of the plates I'd have licked if it weren't so rude. We had ricotta/ balsamic spread on sourdough. We had a buratta salad. We had tagliatelle with chèvre. They pulled five stars from both of us on all three. I'd be back here weekly if I lived here. It's extraordinary. And it's a fun night. We had and absolutely outstanding meal and a lot of fun. This is by far the best Italian food -best food along any kind - we've had in the evening. Breakfast at Clementine was top notch. Winnipeg you did yourself proud.

Excellent food and service. Our only complaint is that we found the tables too close together for privacy and conversation.

The different contrast made it an undesirable combination. Told the waiter, who was not very nice, even from the get go! He just took the plate without trying to fix or make it "right". He came back and I inquired, " so, you're not going to fix or rectify this " "uh, I took it off your bill" and walked away. Was not very welcoming. My friends even said so. There were interesting art pieces on the wall but didn't really look around. I got a pizza (vegan) it was meh... I don't really want pizza. Then my friends got the calamari which they loved; along with a pasta and some beef entree which they both loved. Probably will not ever go back.

Even though…read moreit was a beautiful evening, we sat inside at a wonderful table for 4 in the back of the restaurant at a table with a view over the river. This section is elevated above the main floor and has wonderful golden leather chairs where I could have lingered for hours. The menu is broad with Italian, Spanish, and even African dishes so it's not hard to find something tempting. To start we shared some bruschetta-there are six varieties and you can choose 3. We LOVED the pear/prosciutto as well as the Brie/apple varieties but the standard tomato variety was also great. At 6 pieces to an order you need 4 people (like us) unless you're only having a salad (like my wife) as your main. We also tried the Piri Piri chicken-very flavorful, the paella-yummy, and the chicken and chorizo pasta. They serve cocktails and the margarita and the whiskey sour were both standouts for their quality even if they were a touch lite on booze. Our server was super friendly and helpful. Loved the vibe, location and service. Recommended.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the place was rather lively even on a Friday afternoon…read more In terms of the food we shared an order of poutine and their blackened chicken fettuccine. Poutine was decent - not the best I've had in town but not the worst. The portion was very small, and I was surprised to see it priced almost as much as an entree on the bill - they don't have it on the menu a la carte but you can upgrade a side of fries to poutine for $4. Since the pasta dish didn't normally come with fries I asked if they could just do a side of poutine and they said yes (and then charged $14 for it). It wasn't worth it. The blackened chicken fettuccine was disappointing. Our host highly recommended it, and it's a dish I generally enjoy enough I even make it at home. The blackening rub they use had almost no spice, which to me defeats part of the point of "blackened" chicken - the taste was more on the herby side. The noodles themselves were bland and the sauce was almost non-existent - sadly underseasoned. I chopped the chicken up into tiny bits and mixed it all together so that they flavors from the chicken could add at least some excitement to the pasta, but while it helped it didn't quite save the dish. Overall the experience was fairly mediocre. Maybe I should have gotten a burger, but I went with the host's recommendation instead for a dish I normally quite enjoy and came away disappointed. The price of the side of poutine is on me - I didn't ask ahead of time. But it came out to be nearly double what I'd expected for half as much as I'd thought it would be.
