    Veal piccata with fettuccine Alfredo
    DineoutGal A.

Wow, almost 3 years to the day from my previous review I can say I am happy with my return visit to this location. My last visit was so terribly salty that it took a lot for me to return here for dinner but I am glad I did. We had a lovely dinner as service was warm and friendly and dishes were reasonably priced and very much hit the spot when it comes to comfort Italian food. Antipasti $5-$14, pizzas are ~$15, primi $16-$19 and secondi $19-$25. I still remember the days when the focaccia was complimentary (at the old McDermot locaion) but for $3 you can get the Focaccia Casalinga (4 pcs) with house made with xvoo, balsamic vinegar. A nice starter of fluffy focaccia to share with 2-4 people. The gnocchi al pesto ($18) are not the pillowy gnocchi from the McDermot location but they are still fine. Not overly dense and better than average in a thick pesto cream sauce that probably needed more pesto than cream. The vitello piccata ($24) is the veal scaloppini with white wine, lemon and capers. The veal was very tender and the classic sauce was perfectly balanced. The secondi comes with pasta pomodoro, fettuccine Alfredo or grilled vegetables. I had the fettuccine Alfredo which is a small portion and probably best in that portion as its a decadent caloric overload of delicious carbs and cream. The whole dish was great. Our whole table enjoyed every dish ordered and had a lovely time. This is a great casual neighborhood restaurant where you can order some comfort dishes and enjoy good conversation in a not too loud place with a bottle of wine.

Calamari - Some of the best I've had!

So happy we found this wonderful Italian restaurant while on vacation in Winnipeg!! We started with the calamari....perfectly crispy and tender! Some of the best calamari I've had! And then...the pesto cream gnocchi! Wow!! Incredible! We were so impressed...we went back 3 day's later! I will definitely return the next time I'm in Winnipeg!

The food offerings at Tre Visi are incredible. We were visiting the city and wanted something other than the usually boring chain food. We got it in spades. We started with Caprese and caesar salads which is a standard for us. Super! The calamari are to die for ... I've never had better! Tender, tasty and lightly fried to perfection. My wife enjoyed a veal dish which she raved about. Two great meals; wine and a check under $100. Not bad!!

Tiramisu $7. Just the right amount of sogginess :)

The different contrast made it an undesirable combination. Told the waiter, who was not very nice, even from the get go! He just took the plate without trying to fix or make it "right". He came back and I inquired, " so, you're not going to fix or rectify this " "uh, I took it off your bill" and walked away. Was not very welcoming. My friends even said so. There were interesting art pieces on the wall but didn't really look around. I got a pizza (vegan) it was meh... I don't really want pizza. Then my friends got the calamari which they loved; along with a pasta and some beef entree which they both loved. Probably will not ever go back.

This section is elevated above the main floor and has wonderful golden leather chairs where I could have lingered for hours. The menu is broad with Italian, Spanish, and even African dishes so it's not hard to find something tempting. To start we shared some bruschetta-there are six varieties and you can choose 3. We LOVED the pear/prosciutto as well as the Brie/apple varieties but the standard tomato variety was also great. At 6 pieces to an order you need 4 people (like us) unless you're only having a salad (like my wife) as your main. We also tried the Piri Piri chicken-very flavorful, the paella-yummy, and the chicken and chorizo pasta. They serve cocktails and the margarita and the whiskey sour were both standouts for their quality even if they were a touch lite on booze. Our server was super friendly and helpful. Loved the vibe, location and service. Recommended.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the place was rather lively even on a Friday afternoon…read more In terms of the food we shared an order of poutine and their blackened chicken fettuccine. Poutine was decent - not the best I've had in town but not the worst. The portion was very small, and I was surprised to see it priced almost as much as an entree on the bill - they don't have it on the menu a la carte but you can upgrade a side of fries to poutine for $4. Since the pasta dish didn't normally come with fries I asked if they could just do a side of poutine and they said yes (and then charged $14 for it). It wasn't worth it. The blackened chicken fettuccine was disappointing. Our host highly recommended it, and it's a dish I generally enjoy enough I even make it at home. The blackening rub they use had almost no spice, which to me defeats part of the point of "blackened" chicken - the taste was more on the herby side. The noodles themselves were bland and the sauce was almost non-existent - sadly underseasoned. I chopped the chicken up into tiny bits and mixed it all together so that they flavors from the chicken could add at least some excitement to the pasta, but while it helped it didn't quite save the dish. Overall the experience was fairly mediocre. Maybe I should have gotten a burger, but I went with the host's recommendation instead for a dish I normally quite enjoy and came away disappointed. The price of the side of poutine is on me - I didn't ask ahead of time. But it came out to be nearly double what I'd expected for half as much as I'd thought it would be.
