I've had…read moretheir shawarma before during Covid via Skip, but it's been a while so I decided to come back recently. Their signature dish is the Arabic Shawarma, which is similar to a chicken shawarma, but cut into bite sized pieces. I'm a bit wary when it comes to chicken shawarma as I usually prefer beef or lamb, but they did do a good job here. Slight bit of dryness in the chicken, but their garlic sauce more than made up for it. I believe Ramallah and Baraka are both slightly better shawarma places than here, but Les Saj is definitely an excellent option if you're in the Polo Park area.

We had hot sauce with ours which they add into it before they close and bake them. Inside is spinach, feta, garlic, beef/chicken and the hot sauce we asked for. Now I will be on the hunt in California for something similar to this delicious place. Can't wait to go back and eat here again.

Once I was seated and we had ordered the server proceeded to tell us they had a reservation shortly for this table. Then why didn't you say anything before I was seated and ordered or move us to another table. And the whole time I was trying to stuff food into me we were getting dirty looks from all the servers. I get that it is a pain to have people sit for a bit but we were trying to have a meal and a visit. I guess next time we will got somewhere that allows us to eat slow and relax My friend gave the server her AMEX to pay. She came back to the table and said sorry it didn't go through. How embarrassing for my friend. She used another card. Later called the restaurant and was told they don't accept AMEX. So why didn't the server say that. Instead she said it didn't go through and embarrassed her for no reason. Luckily she was with friends who understood not business clients. May be time to switch to a new favorite restaurant in my location.

Taverna Rodos is located in Charleswood, and was quite popular when I went here recently with a friend. I had the pork souvlaki, which came with a lot of rice and even more vegetables. I'll be honest, I enjoyed the rice and veggies way more than the pork lol. The pork felt quite dry sadly, if it wasn't for the spices it would've been worse. Service is excellent. I'm sure there are other better items here given the plentiful menu options. I'm content on giving this 3-stars for now and re-evaluate if I decide to return here.
