    Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich
    Jessica A.

Santucci's is definitely a neighborhood staple. I grew up eating from Santucci's since my mom and dad always ordered from them. Their grilled chicken breast sub has remained one of my favorites, and the taste has consistently stayed great throughout the years. My most recent visits take me back to my childhood, and this might sound like an exaggeration, but every bite is nostalgic. Another one of my favs is their chicken Caesar salad. I generally love Caesar dressing, but theirs is top tier. I don't think I've ordered it in years, but hopefully the taste has also remained the same. I'll probably order during my next visit!

Eggplant Parmesan sub is a no. The eggplant is not breaded and there is very little marinara sauce and cheese. The eggplant was oily and thin.

We understand that Santucci's changed owners and it's not what it used to be, but since we have nothing to compare, we both liked our subs. Nothing beats an NE/NY/NJ sub shop, but this isn't too far off. The sub roll had a good texture and was well-filled. Subs were big. My eggplant parm sub was tasty and my partner enjoyed his order. I'd return when the craving hits.

Been a loyal customer for 10+ years, and it pains me to say it but this place is awful. Once they changed management, it was evident that all the food quality, the customer service, etc., all dropped precipitously. The "chicken parm" sub is...not chicken parm. I don't even know how to describe it (pictured below), but it is awful. I have placed my order online, waited a half hour, then showed up to get my food and...waited another half hour. The place could be empty and you're still waiting for an additional 30 mins for no reason. They often run out of mozzarella (an ostensibly Italian joint!), the pizza is undercooked and borderline raw, an Italian cold cut sub (a staple I have had for years) now has American cheese on it for some reason and is near inedible. I could go on forever, but I am done with this place. I can't imagine anyone who knows anything about Italian food thinking this place is even mediocre at this point. Never again.

We had the eggplant parm and the old bay fries. the eggplant parm was new for me and a little unseasoned but im sure delicious for your average vegetarian. the old fries were delicious but i wouldn't have minded a bit more old bay. love this place, another hometown staple.

A friend was "raving" about this place for years so I decided to stop by while driving thru Maryland tonight... I called to ask what should I get, he said the cheesesteak... I did Basically on a scale of 1-10 I give it a "4" there was hardly any meat on the sandwich and the steak that was on there wasn't the best of grades of meat The onions were "store bought" but still better than the sandwich The employees were very friendly and the place was clean, I probably will not be going back

Santucci's is a local favorite for all your needs. And possibly the best steak and cheese in the city. Get it all the way with extra hot peppers. Parking in the back. Thank me later!

    Chicken cheese steak

Two stars is being generous.... I was back in Wheaton for the 1st time in awhile so stopped in to one of my fav places. I had no idea it was sold, but new ownership doesn't have a clue. They clearly put some money into fixing the inside, but clearly didn't follow directions on how to make quality subs. Philly chicken cheese steak was my absolutely go to, however the one I got today had so little chicken, it was not seasoned at all, wrong type of lettuce, lettuce wasn't even shredded it was chopped, lettuce and tomatoes weren't fresh (had dark yellow sections), ketchup had a funky taste... I threw out 1/2 the sub. Hope new owners can turn it around.

It's on the same block as a really nice Thai place and a nice Mediterranean spot as well. There weren't many people on a weekday night so we just walked in. Street parking is free after 7 PM. The star was the margharita pizza. And we also got a calzone, which was also really good. The texture of the crust and the little slight crunch and the sauce was really great. I wish there was more basil on the margarita pizza. There were three pieces of basil on the entire pie the pasta we got was the seafood pasta and it was a bit salty and portions are a bit small, but maybe that's the norm now? And we also got this other mushroom ravioli thing that is also pretty good but just really small. I think it was like five or six pieces of ravioli for $24. Service was fine. It was standard. The restaurant was a little bit hot during the heat wave. I wish it was a little cooler so with the four dishes altogether it was over $80 before tip for two people and we just had a little bit left over which is why I thought the value was more 3.5 than a four. That said, I'd still come back and get the margarita pizza and calzone - they're really quite good.

It's family-owned and operated, and you feel that warmth the moment you walk through the door. The staff are genuinely welcoming, happily accommodate substitutions and dietary restrictions, and often recite the nightly specials with a delightful mix of English and Italian--usually accompanied by a compliment about your outfit or your dinner companion that makes everyone smile. We had Christmas Eve dinner there this year, and it was every bit as memorable as we'd hoped. The portions are generous enough to share or take half home for lunch the next day. I especially recommend the Chicken Marsala, Chicken Piccata, and the classic mussels, all prepared beautifully. Don't overlook their neighboring pizzeria either--it's our go-to for both takeout and casual dining. Trattoria Da Lina is the kind of neighborhood restaurant every community wishes it had.

I stupidly didn't read my own previous review. Disclaimer first: I have been to Italy several times, and am a big fan of Lidia and Mary Ann on PBS. Garlic toast was dry and tough, Texas toast rather than pan francese. The dipping sauce was decent, evoo and cheese with some seasoning. Salad was nice and fresh, with a variety of veggies. Chicken parm was the worst I've ever had, dry, tough, no crunch to the outside, no slice of prosciutto. I have had better frozen. After dousing it with table cheese and the remaining bread dip, I was able to choke it down. It was served on top of spaghetti. In real Italian cucina, pasts is a separate course. Cooked through, not al dente, Very simple tomato sauce. Very cordial service, and I did leave full enough to avoid temptation at Lidl. But that food wasn't even good italian-american much less real italian. Meh. Chin flick.

A host greeted us and guided us to a table. I want to caution this is a very dimly lit restaurant (we were there around 7PM on a Sunday night) and there is a slight incline in the floor leading into one of the other rooms but there is a rug placed down in that area that somewhat helped show it was there. Service was great and attentive. Menu clearly outlined the food and drink options. Pricing seemed fair for area and quality of food. Our server asked if we were interested in additional details such as adding cheese or asking for refills. We had fresh bread and dressing delivered to us upon sitting down. Silverware was neatly wrapped and looked clean. I ordered the sausage and peppers - it was delicious. I had leftovers and the server kindly placed them in a to-go container in a bag that was hooked to the table conveniently out of the way. My fiancé reheated the leftovers upon my return home and he enjoyed the leftovers! I thought it was also a cute touch that the server check presenter had the name of the restaurant as well!

Josh was very polite, and I felt good vibes before the food ever hit the table. He recommended their special, a trout on pasta dish. We didn't have time for the places I sometimes like to eat at in the Row (sit down places that would have taken longer than 30 minutes), and we didn't want to eat at any of the chain places nearby either. Just when we were getting into one of those situations where every option gets shot down until you get desperate and end up somewhere you don't even like, we saw Vace's awning. It looked old school and like they might sell pizza by the slice inside, so we wandered in. Since visiting I've done a little research and now I know that Vace Italian Deli started in DC in 1976 and that it's still family-owned almost 50 years later. They offer 60+ items made in house (fresh deli sandwiches, homemade pasta, and freshly baked pizza) and have small store where you can get plenty of great Italian food items (their olive oils looked amazing and did their anchovies and other jarred items)! We got a couple of slices of pizza each (one cheese and one pepperoni for him, one spinach and one onion for me), which were really great. A great walking lunch, and exactly what we had time for. (I say a walking lunch, because Vace is to go only, there's no where to sit.) I really enjoyed our experience here, and I'm glad we wandered until we found it. A fun surprise in Bethesda.
