I was in the area visiting family and had a taste for pasta (that could be anytime everyday lol). I pulled a couple places up on my trusty Yelp app and liked what I saw. There is a parking lot out front which is super convenient since I dislike street parking very much. There are about five steps down to the actual entrance of the restaurant but they also have a wheelchair elevator. The restaurant is pretty large with tons of seating. The seating at the bar wraps all the way around. They have a nice selection of bottles behind the bar, something for everyone's taste. The brick oven is behind the bar as well, right next to the kitchen. The goodness that was produced out of that oven was out of this world. I came for pasta but Angel talked the pizza up so well I had to try it and it did not disappoint!! The service was excellent and friendly. We went on a Tuesday after the memorial holiday so it was kind of slow but I feel like the attentive service is something that Angel would provide regardless of a crowd. The food was simply fresh and delicious. The menu is a mix of Italian, Honduran, El Salvadoran and Mexican.......all around melanin goodness. I opted for the spaghetti bolognese which was made with fresh in house pasta (nothing is frozen or premade at this place). My mother went with the Hen Soup which is a large bowl of broth with vegetables and comes with a half roasted or fried chicken. Everything was delicious! I let Angel know that every time I visit the area I'm stopping in. Come support this local gem. Bring the family, there is plenty for everyone:)

This is our go to place for amazingly good homemade pasta! Portions are good, prices average. Very friendly welcoming staff, very cjean place. Homemade pizza crust too- try the Lorocco pizza- first one on the pizza list- it uses a special dough. Downside? It's popular on the weekends, and can get loud. Highly recommend!

4.5 Stars and we ordered delivery for this order. Placing the order over the phone was simple and the employee answered several questions I had about the menu as well. The driver was prompt and courteous (I believe he worked at the restaurant rather than for a third-party delivery service). The portions were generous and the food was flavorful. When I saw they carried Arancini balls on the menu, I was so excited because I had wanted to try these ever since I saw them on a travel channel show! The outside was crisp and crunchy while the inside was softened by the rice inside.

It was located around the Wheaton triangle area. It was a big and spacious. The service was very attentive. The atmosphere and the food were more Latino than Italian. Deejay played a mixture of loud and fast Latino dance music. Otherwise it was quiet because there were not many diners on a late Sunday night. We ordered: 5*Terra Marescada: included lobster, shrimp, fish, crab, mussels, clams and tortillas.bathe menu claimed to have scallops, but I didn't see any. It was served with tortillas. Everything was fresh and tasty, perfect seafood soup. 3*Garden Pizza: it was ok, the veggies make it a bit soggy.

Who knew that Wheaton, MD would be a hot spot for outstanding dining with Terra Mare just around the corner from one of my favorite places District Bistro and Frank's Burger Place? Based on the 5 times I've been to Terra Mare in the past 2 months, I have come to the conclusion that this place serves some of the best Italian food at very reasonable prices with excellent, welcoming, friendly service in the suburban MD. The pasta and especially the pizza are worthy of going off a low carb diet. They are both just so good here. Listen, I freely admit I'm a pizza snob. There are a few places that make pizza that I just adore. Pizzeria Paradiso in DuPont Circle and Hyattsville was the place for me for years, and still is. There are places that have adequate pizza, but Terra Mare's pizza comes oh so close to some of the best - great dough and crust, excellent cheese, toppings and perfectly charred. I will gladly have Terra Mare's delicious pizza since it's closer to me and it comes at a lot more affordable price tag. In addition to the great pizza, the other Italian dishes are excellent as well, especially the chicken piccata with its' perfectly cooked al dente homemade linguine - delicious! Being that the owners and staff are of Latin descent, there are some Latin dishes sprinkled throughout the menu. On one occasion, My friend had the chicken fajitas, which looked really good, and said they were excellent as well. Perhaps one day I will be tempted to try them for myself if I can be torn away from their excellent pizza because I just love good fajitas too. The only drawback here is the loud music on weekends when they have karaoke, and the rather cold color temperature lighting. The place is clean and spacious, but some warmer more ambient lighting would make the dining room feel more calm, inviting and intimate. Even so, it should not deter anyone from trying the place. It didn't deter me and now I enthusiastically will say this is one of my top picks to eat out in the DMV. I just love this place!

This was my first visit here and I opted for a carry-out. There are plenty of metered parking out front. When you enter the first set of doors, you have to descend a few steps to the door for Terra Mare. The restaurant is spacious. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful. The food was delicious. For starters, meatballs al forno was a must have. These were mini beef meatballs. Perfect bite size. I wanted something different so I ordered the pasta verde- homemade spinach noodles, jumbo shrimp, tomatoes, charred brussel sprouts, onion and basil pesto sauce. The portion was huge. I made 3 meals out of it. They also have couple homemade desserts- tiramisu and rum cake. Both were good but a little on the pricey side for the size of the dessert. I look forward to trying other items on the menu. Overall a great experience.

    Sitting area

Overall it has a Pizza Hut like atmosphere. The portion size is good but the food is too salty.

Baronessa out - Terra Mare in. These are the former owners of Rockville's Baronessa which sadly closed this year. But be aware...this is not Baronessa. It's like a Latin American restaurant with some Italian dishes. I'm not sure how that's going to go in the long run but time will tell. Honestly, I'd prefer they make a decision one way or the other and stick to it but that's just me. Another bummer is that their brick oven is no longer heated by wood but by gas. This makes a big difference, but I think their hands may have been tied by the county and the ability to vent the wood smoke. Alas. So I am going to report a half-review here as I wanted to try the pasta as well but just couldn't stuff my face with that much food. So...an updated review will be coming along in the coming weeks. As you have probably figured out, I had the pizza. It was fine. While the dough wasn't very flavorful, the crust was cooked beautifully. In fact, the time and temp of the cook (a little under two minutes at 700 degrees) was perfect. The sauce didn't have much to it flavor-wise and the toppings were fine. Overall, an okay pizza. I hear that they make their pasta in house (except for the Penne) so I definitely want to try that (hence the updated review promise). Stay tuned. The location is a little odd as there's no signage on the door but once you get down there (yes you have to go down some steps to get in) you'll know you're in the right place (and yes, there's a wheelchair elevator available). The place is filled with TVs so you get the vibe that it might be a good place to watch some sports. Otherwise the decor lacks panache (especially compared to Baronessa!) with black ceiling tiles and recessed lighting. Oh, and there's plenty of parking available. Rumor has it that there will be Karaoke on weekend nights (another very odd add for a restaurant mixing two cuisines - maybe they'll offer sushi on those nights too?) The staff could-not-have-been-nicer. Everyone was happy and busy and excited to talk about all the yummy food on the menu. I'd come back just for that great experience. They have a full bar (with several good beers on tap) but I can't speak to their ability to actually mix a drink as this was a weekday lunch. All told, Terra Mare is an okay place to go. There's enough seating for groups and larger families and it is clean. I look forward to trying their pasta in the next week or so and giving an updated review.

Eggplant Parmesan-- three slices! Delicious pasta and sauce. Perfect!
    Jay D.

Service was excellent, wine pour generous, huge portions -- the biggest eggplant Parmesan portion I've ever seen (YEAH leftovers!!!) - the beet salad started us off (also a large portion) and delicious balsamic dressing. My spouse had the Arugula pizza, friend had mushroom ravioli with Vodka sauce (a little too much sauce for my tastes). Every one left fat and happy. The server was attentive, friendly and helpful- but not overly so. Definitely going back! Oh, and music to take you back to the 70s and 80s. Go soon!

They also have a small grocery section with imported Italian goods (canned clams, tomatoes, olive oils, cookies, etc) and frozen premade goodies like sauces, lasagnas, Italian sausage, pizza dough, and even ice cream. We ordered a hot porchetta sub, cold cut sub, and homemade pappardelle with pesto cream sauce. The owner helped us choose a "soft" sub roll for the porchetta and a "hard" Italian baguette for the cold cut sub. The food was all very tasty and felt like we traveled to a simpler time where ingredients shine for themselves. The porchetta was tender and flavorful, and together with the soft roll, kind of reminded me of a Taiwanese gua bao or Cantonese charsiu bao. It was incredible and smelled so delicious! The cold cut sub was simple and well balanced, and good with the harder baguette. Lastly, the handmade pappardelle was delightfully chewy and reminded me of Chinese hand pulled noodles. Didn't expect to have such parallels with Chinese food- and I enjoyed reflecting on how different cultures can come to have similar tastes and values. Next time we'll have to try their desserts and more of their menu! Can't wait to come back. Go check out this gem in Rockville, and experience a taste of Italy!

It is a cute restaurant located off of Boiling Brooke Parkway in Rockville, Maryland. The inside is decorated with warm woods and shelves and freezers filled with Italian frozen entrees, desserts, and sauces. As you walk up to the counter, you are warmly welcomed. I ordered the Italian cold cut sub and the meatball sub. They have a huge assortment of chips. I am really regretting not picking up a package of my favorite chips. Next time... Service was great. The gentleman who waited on me couldn't have been nicer. It took about 5 minutes for my food to be ready and I was out the door. I want to echo other reviewers, when I say there are no tables or chairs for eating. This is strictly order your food and take it with you. My meatball sub was delicious. It was packed with large portions of meatballs, that were roasted in a tasty marinara sauce. The roll was fresh and soft. I highly recommend this sub. The Italian sub was good, but it was crying out for a little lettuce and tomato. I know that they offer the sub with a green sauce, but I found the taste of the sauce oily and too parsley heavy. I was really glad I had it put on the side. Other than that, the Italian meats were tasty and the sub roll fresh and tender. Prices were reasonable, it was about $20 for both subs. I will definitely return to get some homemade pasta and that tiramisu that was tempting me in the fridge. Gratzi,Vignola Gourmet.

Any Marylander of the Boomer and GenX generation knows about O'Donnell's RUM BUNS. I used to come here with family back in its heyday and these were served table side before our meal. How crazy is that, a nice lil somewhat sinful dessert BEFORE some MD crab?! Those were the days! The rum buns are more nostalgia more than anything, I wouldn't say they'll blow your socks off, but hey, nostalgia is nostalgia. Well, I'll need to dine in here for a full and complete verdict, but my quick grab and go visit was a tad chaotic. Service for taking orders could improve - you walk in, there's a seafood counter to your left, bakery counter to your right (both were unmanned when I walked in) and in the middle is a deli section with the cash register where I assume they take orders. We stood there for a few good minutes before getting anyone's attention despite the fact a manager asking staff (not customers) if everyone was being helped. Clearly staff did not know who was waiting to check out, take orders or just waiting for their orders to arrive. So it was just weird. No one greeting you as you walk in either, it just also weird because there's no clear line anywhere you stand. Otherwise, rum buns were as I remembered them. Also picked up crab dip and chicken salad from the grab and go section from the back and they were just ok, not bad, not great. So will come again for a future visit hoping to have a much better meal and experience!
