My wife and I recently visited Santo Agave and had a great experience overall. We decided to sit at the bar, the food and drinks were excellent. The bartender Javier was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and took the time to explain both the food and drink menus. He shared information about the tequila selection, including some of their premium offerings, and his recommendations were spot on. It's clear he knows his craft and genuinely cares about providing great service. He made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down and was a big part of why we enjoyed our visit so much. The only reason I'm not giving a perfect review is because of another bartender I overheard being called Chris. Throughout our visit, he repeatedly used inappropriate language and made negative comments about certain products and even about the restaurant itself. It came across as unprofessional and took away from the otherwise great atmosphere. That said, it didn't ruin our experience. The food, drinks, and especially Javier's excellent hospitality more than made up for it. We'll definitely be back and hope to get same level of service again. read more

Santo Agave exceeded all expectations! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was outstanding--great energy, beautiful ambiance, and the perfect balance of music. They had music playing throughout the restaurant, but it was at just the right volume so you could still enjoy a conversation with everyone at your table. The food and drinks were absolutely fantastic. We started with the Empanadas, Camarones Roca, and Chicharrón de Ribeye, and every appetizer was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. For my entrée, I ordered the NY Strip prepared with tequila, and it was exceptional--tender, flavorful, and one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. The drinks were equally impressive, expertly crafted and delicious from start to finish. Between the amazing food, excellent service, and vibrant atmosphere, Santo Agave delivered an outstanding dining experience. Highly recommend checking this place out. We came on for happy hour on a Friday. Happy hour is only at the bar. No deals if you sit at the tables. Bartender and hostess were super friendly. Bartender knows how to make a good drink. We really enjoyed the Mexican Negroni. We tried bacon strips, shrimp tacos and fillet tacos. All were pretty tasty. The issue we had was that the staff were sitting at the bar working on their laptops and watching YouTube videos with the volume up on their phone. They were also sitting at tables doing work and discussing work. It ruined the vibe. The place is stunning but I don't want to see the behind the scenes stuff. Not the atmosphere we were hoping for so we left instead of trying more drinks/food and went somewhere else. read more

They opened about 5 weeks ago and we were excited to check them out. The decor is very up-scale, beautiful and breezy. The service was very good and our server, Frank (also one of the managers) was so friendly and helpful with explaining everything. We started with the Queso Brie, which is a baked brie with walnuts, blueberry jam and crispy crostini. It was delicious!! For our entrees, Hubby went with the Chilean Sea Bass, it was light and very flavorful. I had the Filet Mignon (cooked to perfection) and it came with a Red Wine Reduction sauce...so good for dipping. We also got sides of Grilled Vegetables and Cream Spinach. We came here on an early Saturday afternoon. The service was amazing. Naeomi was our server and gave a very thorough run through of the menu and was attentive throughout. The food was excellent. The red salsa is very flavorful. Cocktails were also really good! From the food to service, everything was amazing. The ambience is really neat too... loved the driftwood tables. Would return again. My only worry is that we were the only customers on a Saturday afternoon. Granted it was a little early but I'm really hoping this place gets more business. My only tiny complaint is the waitress did ask if we wanted still, sparkling or tap water. Apparently there's a cost for still water. We didn't realize that and probably wouldn't have ordered it had we known. Not a huge deal but we will remember for any future visit. read more

This location (although new), hit every nail on the head as far as execution goes. Upon entering, you're warmly welcomed by a hostess who even assists with bringing a holder for any bags or loose accessories to your table. First impressions of the restaurant are reminiscent of the upscale dining scene in Tulum. They had a DJ spinning some great mixes, which definitely added to the ambience. Our server was attentive and was prepared with suggestions being that it was our first time in. Now let's talk food, I will say we did get slightly carried away with the appetizers since they all sounded like great options, so we went with a variety of mixed appetizers and shared. A standout for us was the rock shrimp. Crunchy, tangy, with just the right amount heat. The cocktails not only looked good, they tasted just as great! Their mixology was fun and intuitive, yet delicious. Filet mignon tacos were incredible! The meat was tender and flavorful. Ask for the spicy salsa at your own risk! Lots of flavor, but also not recommended for people with low tolerance to high spice levels (although the tacos do come with a mild-spice sales). Overall, a great concept and truly brings the delicious flavors of Mexico along with its hospitality right to our city of Peoria. A must try! read more

We walked past this restaurant several times so decided to give it a try. Note, it is not traditional Mexican food. They promote themselves as a more modern Mexican restaurant. Pros: The restaurant is beautifully decorated, clean, and well kept. It has only been open a little over a month so you would expect that everything is still in good condition. It has a great vibe with a DJ over the weekend. The music was just the right volume so that we can still have a conversation. The service was great. We had reservations and were seated quickly. Our waiter, Alberto, came to greet the table at the right time and gave us some background information. He was the really attentive and gave us some good recommendations. We decided not to try any of the desserts because we already had our fill of sugar with the drinks but Alberto did a good job presenting the menu. Cons: The cocktail menu was extensive and that can sometimes be a sign that they are trying to do too many things and not focusing on perfecting a few drinks. - You can tell that the drinks will be overly sweet just based on the various mixers and syrups - elderflower, agave, and/or other syrups. The drinks were still too sweet after requesting it to be lightened so just ask to have one of the syrups removed. - There were so many flavors in one drink that it all just masked any enjoyment of the actual spirit being used. Drinking a cocktail should be about the taste of the spirit and not all the sweeteners. - The garnishes also did not make any sense with the drink itself. If this restaurant is trying to charge high-end prices, they should not use generic maraschino cocktail cherries. These type of sweet drinks remind me of a kitschy tiki bar with these types of garnishes. - The price point is deceptively good but not for the taste and experience you get from the drink. For the food, again, the price point does not match the quality and portion for what you receive. See receipt. - Guacamole portion was small and lacked some flavor. - Empanada and accompanying sauce had good flavor but they are small. - Oysters were the best deal. They tasted fresh and were large. - Sea bass was too dry and ruined the buttery flakiness you normally get from this delicate fish. - Filet mignon tacos were overcooked and dry. Again the cheese crust on the tortilla was a nice touch. Although the service was great, they did not come by to fill the water glasses very frequently. - The glassware was beautiful but it is probably difficult to tell when the water needs filling. read more

My husband and I went to eat for our anniversary and it was a great experience. Everyone was nice from the hostess, waiter, servers, and the manager. Alberto was our waiter and he was beyond nice. His service was amazing and he explained the food and drink menu very well! The food was delicious. For the complimentary chips and dips, they were delicious I just wished I had more chips because I still had salsas left. We got the beefy empanadas and the fideo seco as an appetizer and they did not disappoint. The fideo seco was full of flavor! We had the Filet Mignon tacos and although it was only three and they look little they were surprisingly filling. They had a layer of fried cheese and a lot of meat in them. The flavor was delicious! The drinks were amazing! Between the guava and chingon spritz I liked the chingón the best, not too sweet just perfect. I loved the old fashioned, the smoky flavor was great! We visited to celebrate my husband's birthday. We started with some appetizers guacamole and carpaccio which were mediocre at best. When it came time for the main course, my husband and one son ordered burgers, while my other son chose the filet mignon, requested medium rare. After waiting an entire hour, our server informed us that the steak had been delayed because it was still defrosting -- meaning a $65 filet mignon had been sitting in a freezer when we placed our order. I was appalled and immediately asked to cancel it. I refuse to pay that price for frozen meat. The manager then appeared with the steak, claiming the burgers were simply slow and that the steak had never been frozen and was ready. I asked him pointedly whether it normally takes an hour to prepare two burgers. To make matters worse, the steak arrived well done -- nowhere near medium rare. When I pointed this out, the manager cut into it and insisted that this was their restaurant's version of medium rare. That is simply not true. As regular diners at the top steakhouses in the area, we know exactly what medium rare looks like. He offered to remove it from the bill, so I had him take it back entirely. We boxed up everything else, as we were now nearly two hours in with no main course eaten and a movie to catch. When the check arrived, the server finally admitted the steak's center had been frozen during cooking, prompting the kitchen to keep it on the heat until it was thoroughly overcooked. A birthday dinner that turned into a complete disappointment. Won't be going back. read more

Went to the new steakhouse here in Park West. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. The decor and DJ had you feeling like you're in Mexico. Very cool vibe to it. The service was good everyone was very friendly and attentive. The drinks were great! We had an old fashioned and the Guava Spritz. Both were strong and tasted delicious. The food needs improvement. We got a complementary appetizer with different salsa's and three tostadas. Maybe just serving regular tortilla chips would be better as the tostadas were an odd choice for the dips and hard to share. The steak was kind of dry and sauce served with it wasn't great. The filet mignon tacos were just okay. For the price of the food we were expecting more flavor. The jalapeño mash potatoes were really good! I really love my experience from the beginning to the end! I try the artichoke and crab dip, pulpo en las brasas, ribeye fillet and sweet corn with cream of the side , it was delicious! Follow of a Oaxaca old fashion drink! To the end for a dessert I get a corn bread it comes with some caramel popcorn mmmmm! My God! Amazing! Indio cocktail for my dessert!
