So we booked a private event here this past weekend and I have to say this restaurant is incredibly run and thanks to the whole team, our event went absolutely beautifully. Our event included heavy appetizers and an open bar in their separate/private bar that connects to its own outdoor space. The space was perfect for our group of about 50 but with the additional add-on room (we didn't need that much space), and the huge attached patio, the venue would easily accommodate a larger size of a group. I just loved that they came up with an appetizer menu that wasn't even items from their regular menu. The team was extremely accommodating with every request we had along the way. This is my first time here after the new owners took over Bottega Pizzeria Restaurante. It's very similar, however there seems to be a bunch of new menu items, so I was excited about that. I have the same complaints as I did with the other place. The tables are very small. Our party of four was a little too cozy at our table. Also, the live entertainment was a too loud, making it difficult for our group to communicate. The service was slow. I tried the pork shank which sounded delightful. It was delicious except it looked about a third the size of the photo on the on-line menu. For a $35 menu item, it was a bit disappointing. I'm curious about their pizza, but I'm not sure I'll be back. I think I'm being generous with three stars... read more

Great appetizer spot! We got the goat cheese and charred octopus. The goat cheese was definitely the star of the show. Plus complementary bread and olive oil for the table. As for entrees we had the carbonara and shrimp gnocchi. The carbonara was a bit overpowered by the added spiced sausage, so if you're looking for a tradition carbonara flavor I would pass on this. The gnocchi was good, but it is notable that the shrimp were boiled not sautéed. The pesto was also very creamy and lacked a strong basil flavor. Drinks wise we got espresso martinis and they were a touch disappointing. The espresso was definitely burnt, so flavor was a little off. Overall this was a good Italian spot with lots of options on their menu. Next time I'd definitely try their pizza or calzones. read more

Alexis is the best, she is so personable, attentive and very positive. She offered some of her favorites. Federico, the owner stopped by our table a couple of times to see how we were doing, very much appreciated and love visiting with him. They make their own pasta and sauce and it is noticeable. Ambiance is Superb Drinks and Wine List-Great Calamari-Excellent Bread was very tasty and freshly baked Bolognese with Wagyu beef and homemade noodles-Fantastic Calzone was over the top tasty and big Chicken Parmesan was the only dish we questioned, Chicken was over breaded and dry. Gelato-Yummy As we departed the young lady at the reception area gave us a tour of the other side of the restaurant, she was so sweet and very knowledgeable, she didn't have to give us a tour but what a nice touch. Customer Service is above and beyond, a compliment to Ownership and Management. We will return to try more entrees and their pizza. read more

We were looking for a new Italian restaurant and this popped up. There was another one in this location, but they're no longer around. So, we decided to check this out. Walking in, the first thing you see is a huge pizza oven in the background. Not bad!! The inside is very comfortable, there's a bar on the side. Our server, Jacqueline, was very friendly. She was also quite knowledgeable and was quick to answer any questions we had about the menu. She also made sure to let us know that everything is made from scratch...which you can tell after eating this delicious food. She brought over some freshly baked bread with some olive oil/balsamic on the side. The bread was warm and tender. And, not so much that we'd fill up on it. I ordered the Pappardelle Wagyu Bolognese...it was very good and a heaping portion (I took the rest home and just had it for lunch...perfect). Hubby had the Gnocchi Sorrentina, which came in a small baking dish. He inhaled it!! The gnocchi was so light and airy (he let me taste one...LOL!). For dessert, I had the Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Gelato. It was a little different than what I was expecting, it came in a glass and wasn't very big. But, it was so decadent and delicious, the portion size was more than enough. Hubby got the Creme Brulee and it had the perfect topping that he cracked with his spoon...you could actually hear it...yummy!! We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be making another trip out that way! read more

The food was really amazing and the service was ok. We had a table of 8 for a birthday celebration and were seated at the table directly behind the piano player. Although we loved the piano playing- we could barely hear anything at all- extremely disappointed with where we were seated and lack of being able to enjoy the evening with the birthday girl. We will be back because the food was outstanding. Also no way to sing happy birthday either because of how loud the piano was. read more

Pizzicata has been on my radar since they opened up their cave creek location. Their recently opened Glendale location is very nice. Our server Jackie was fantastic. She recommended a pinsa pizza, which we loved. We shared the pizzicata, not overly complicated in flavor but highly recommended. It's hard to find great Italian cooking outside of my extended family's kitchens (Mom RIP, sisters (Rosalba and Patricia), aunt Angie). Pizzicata hits it out of the park. Ambiance is spot on (semi formal not pretentious), awesome bread on table (did I say they have awesome crunchy bread?). Service is excellent - you won't die of thirst. Meals (chef Viola) are muah! So far so good! Bottega was excellent and now Pizzicata is perfection too. Food was on point, my daughter's clams linguini was so delicious, the pasta tasted home made. I'll be ordering it for myself on our next visit. My son really enjoyed the Gucci pizza, he left no crumbs. The service was speedy and pleasant. Prices are comparable to Bottega. Seldom write a review but I stumbled into PIZZICATA looking for a last minute lunch reservation. Couldn't have be happier. The owner, Federico, took great care walking me through the menu and the thoughtful updates to the space. His wife, Viola, is the chef, and her Italian roots shine. Warm, Italian family vibe and WOW.... the FOOOOOD! Meal was outstanding, especially the pappardelle wagyu bolognese. Rich, balanced, perfectly executed yet not ostentatious: 10/10. This was a palette cleanse from the worst Italian I ate the day before. Just what the doctor ordered. Seeing the old style open kitchen with the brick oven made me feel homesick for NYC. This place has an amazing variety of wine and spirits and the menu has just as many choices. Started out with fried shrimp and calamari with zucchini chips with a sweet garlic sauce. I do not have the words how yummy this was. The main course was brick oven pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham, sausage, artichoke, olives and mushrooms. The crust was crisp all the way through and the toppings covered the pizza. Again, it was unreal great and you can tell this is true Italian fresh food from the spices to that brick oven perfection. On the side we got a mushroom dish with garlic in wine sauce and I never saw so many varieties of mushrooms and all so good. Finally, for desert, we got a chocolate, strawberry and pistachio spumoni ice cream covered in a dark chocolate shell with sprinkles. You feel like fireworks going off with every bite. Check out the photo I will add for the desert menu. This is a place you can go each time order something different and know it's going to be excellent. It is a little on the pricey side and although we ate in Glendale, they have locations across the valley. If you want some of the best Italian food in the valley, this is a must stop. Second time here. We waited 1 1/2 hours for our meal. Insanity!! Everyone by us received their food before we did! The food was cold when it came out but didn't want to send it back because it took so long. Owner and staff apologized and offered free dessert and brought 2 shots of limoncello which was nice but waiting that long for food is insane. The couple next to us clapped when their food arrived because it took so long. Won't be coming back for a long time, if ever. Disappointing as we liked the food when it was hot! I'll be coming back BUT just one little thing I'll be asking for is extra Nutella on my pizza (that part was disappointing). We ordered a pizza that was not only beautiful but was baked to perfection !! Too many to choose from ! Two different pasta selections- both beyond amazing. Again - so many amazing options to choose from. We took a menu home so that we can cross off everything we've had and make our way through the complete menu until we've tried everything. My husband, Phillip and I were in the area on 1/13/26 and saw a new restaurant in The Citadel and decided we were hungry and this was the place! We were graciously met and seated at the outside area which was nice since the weather is beautiful right now. The owner, Federico came over and introduced hisself and shared the story of this wonderful ristorante. He is so nice and explained some of the dishes we tried. Phillip ordered so much food but we wanted to try a bit of everything so we had Twin Fried Lobster, Ravioli Lobster, Scallops, Large Vegetariana Pizza and a nice bottle of red that came from the town in Italy where Federico was from. Issue was they sat 3 other walk-in tables before us. If there were tables I felt like we should have been seated. Pizzicata, is the best Italian restaurant. True authentic Italian cuisine! Start with the appetizers, the meat balls, the calamari and shrimp and everything else. Then for the main dish the pinsa which is a flatbread, just simply amazing! The pastas and pizzas amazing and very authentic! Overall amazing food, and the desserts even better! The place is quite and they always have someone with live music, but it is not too loud so you cannot speak to each other. The service is amazing the waitress is very polite and pays attention to details. At pizzicata you'll never get bored of the food and they have specials also, which chef Viola makes them fabulous! Unfortunately, Pizzicata lost a little of its magic for us during our last visit. First, the meatballs that we loved so much have changed - they're much smaller now, and while I realize they give us 3 instead of 2 now, part of what made them different from Bottega was how big and juicy they were! Also, there were several flies flying all around our table tonight, landing on our glasses, on our food and on our heads - we spent our time trying to shoo them away the whole time (yes, we were seated inside). Turns out they were trying to keep doors open so people could hear the singer who was outside - which was letting all the flies in! The poor guy was out there singing in the 100 degree heat and no customers were outside, and no one could hear him inside anyhow (and it made it warm and stuffy inside). Anyhow we used to love it there but now I'm sad to say we will not be back for awhile. But we will try again someday because it was great in the past. read more

Anyone thinking about going to Pizzicatta restaurant in Glendale, DON'T. Worst meal. I was supposed to have a dish of bacon pan seared scallops over crab stuff ravioli in a roasted red pepper sauce. What I got was scallops that were shaved in thirds (thin as paper) that were over done, tough as rubber, ravioli stuffed with NOTHING. But the sauce was tasty. I got what they called 4 scallops (which amounted to 1 shaved into 4 pieces) and empty ravioli which were hard as a rock. It was disgraceful. In addition, our waitress never asked if we wanted refills on our iced tea or anything. Then, to top it off, I ordered Nutella crepes for dessert. I had to cut the crepes with a steak knife. So tough, rubbery, you name it. In addition, we sat on the side where the restrooms were. All you could smell at the table was the restroom deodorizer. It was nauseating. Right as we decided to leave, a very kind woman brought bread, but she wasn't our waitress and couldn't help us. Such a letdown, especially since we were excited to be there.
