I'll be coming back BUT just one little thing I'll be asking for is extra Nutella on my pizza (that part was disappointing). This was a palette cleanse from the worst Italian I ate the day before. Just what the doctor ordered. Seeing the old style open kitchen with the brick oven made me feel homesick for NYC. This place has an amazing variety of wine and spirits and the menu has just as many choices. Started out with fried shrimp and calamari with zucchini chips with a sweet garlic sauce. I do not have the words how yummy this was. The main course was brick oven pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham, sausage, artichoke, olives and mushrooms. The crust was crisp all the way through and the toppings covered the pizza. Again, it was unreal great and you can tell this is true Italian fresh food from the spices to that brick oven perfection. On the side we got a mushroom dish with garlic in wine sauce and I never saw so many varieties of mushrooms and all so good. Finally, for desert, we got a chocolate, strawberry and pistachio spumoni ice cream covered in a dark chocolate shell with sprinkles. You feel like fireworks going off with every bite. Check out the photo I will add for the desert menu. This is a place you can go each time order something different and know it's going to be excellent. It is a little on the pricey side and although we ate in Glendale, they have locations across the valley. If you want some of the best Italian food in the valley, this is a must stop. We ordered a pizza that was not only beautiful but was baked to perfection !! Too many to choose from ! Two different pasta selections- both beyond amazing. You gotta try this place, just went here tonight with my boyfriend and first of the live frank sinatra music was spot on, I lowkey hate it when I go to an Italian restaurant and they are playing like pop or country music, the music just adds so much to the environment. Secondly, our waitress I can't remember her name but she was such a sweetheart, my boyfriend is hard of hearing and loud noises hurts his ears so when we asked our server if we could switch tables to sit outside she was immediately okay with it and was very accommodating. Sitting out on the patio with the misters and still able to hear the music was so nice. The cheesy garlic bread was so fresh and amazing. The pastas are just to die for like if I could have this as a final meal I definitely would. Congrats on the owner for having a place like this. Pizzicata, is the best Italian restaurant. True authentic Italian cuisine! Start with the appetizers, the meat balls, the calamari and shrimp and everything else. Then for the main dish the pinsa which is a flatbread, just simply amazing! The pastas and pizzas amazing and very authentic! Overall amazing food, and the desserts even better! The place is quite and they always have someone with live music, but it is not too loud so you cannot speak to each other. The service is amazing the waitress is very polite and pays attention to details. At pizzicata you'll never get bored of the food and they have specials also, which chef Viola makes them fabulous! Went there last night very disappointing maybe I'm wrong but when the menu say stuff ricotta crust pizza I expect to have the pizza crust stuffed with ricotta had to send it back and the second one still didn't have the ricotta in the crust. Issue was they sat 3 other walk-in tables before us. If there were tables I felt like we should have been seated. Unfortunately, Pizzicata lost a little of its magic for us during our last visit. First, the meatballs that we loved so much have changed - they're much smaller now, and while I realize they give us 3 instead of 2 now, part of what made them different from Bottega was how big and juicy they were! Also, there were several flies flying all around our table tonight, landing on our glasses, on our food and on our heads - we spent our time trying to shoo them away the whole time (yes, we were seated inside). Turns out they were trying to keep doors open so people could hear the singer who was outside - which was letting all the flies in! The poor guy was out there singing in the 100 degree heat and no customers were outside, and no one could hear him inside anyhow (and it made it warm and stuffy inside). Anyhow we used to love it there but now I'm sad to say we will not be back for awhile. But we will try again someday because it was great in the past. read more

We were really looking forward to trying this place, but sadly it never happened. We sat at our table for 25 minutes without a single server checking on us - no hello, no water, nothing. Right as we decided to leave, a very kind woman brought bread, but she wasn't our waitress and couldn't help us. Such a letdown, especially since we were excited to be there. Anyone thinking about going to Pizzicatta restaurant in Glendale, DON'T. Worst meal. I was supposed to have a dish of bacon pan seared scallops over crab stuff ravioli in a roasted red pepper sauce. What I got was scallops that were shaved in thirds (thin as paper) that were over done, tough as rubber, ravioli stuffed with NOTHING. But the sauce was tasty. I got what they called 4 scallops (which amounted to 1 shaved into 4 pieces) and empty ravioli which were hard as a rock. It was disgraceful. In addition, our waitress never asked if we wanted refills on our iced tea or anything. Then, to top it off, I ordered Nutella crepes for dessert. I had to cut the crepes with a steak knife. So tough, rubbery, you name it. In addition, we sat on the side where the restrooms were. All you could smell at the table was the restroom deodorizer. It was nauseating. Our service was very good however the food was not. We had a table of seven. My husband had the pork shank which he enjoyed but two people got the short ribs and they said that they were tasteless. I ordered the scallops (the most expensive thing on the menu) and the scallops were gritty with sand and the ravioli was undercooked and tough. We also ordered two goat cheese brulee appetizers. They were good but there was no brulee to it. All in all it was a very disappointing way to celebrate my birthday. read more

I honestly didn't want to write this, but after what Pizzaicata has done to this location, it needs to be said. This place replaced Bottega Pizzeria Ristorante, which was a true neighborhood gem real Italian food, consistency, care, and pride in what came out of the kitchen. Pizzaicata took over the space, slapped a new name on it, and somehow managed to erase everything that made this location special. Let's start with the food. I ordered their pizza (Margherita-style) because if a place can't get the most basic Italian pizza right, that already tells you everything. What came out was honestly embarrassing. The crust was dry and stiff, like it had been sitting out too long or reheated poorly. No lightness, no chew, no char just bland, lifeless dough. The sauce tasted overly sweet and artificial, like it came straight from a can with zero balance. The mozzarella? Cheap, rubbery, and barely melted evenly. Nothing about it tasted fresh or cared for. This wasn't "Italian-inspired." This wasn't "modern." This was fast-food quality pizza pretending to be something better. The portions were disappointing for the price, and the flavors were flat across the board. No depth, no seasoning, no soul. It felt rushed and careless, like the goal was to push orders out instead of actually making good food. That's especially frustrating when you remember what used to be here. Service didn't help either Staff seemed disengaged, like they were just going through the motions. No warmth, no pride, no sense that they cared whether customers enjoyed their meal or not. When you're paying restaurant prices, you expect at least a little attention and professionalism not indifference. And the atmosphere? Cold and Empty. It no longer feels like a place you want to sit, talk, and enjoy a meal. Bottega had character. Pizzaicata feels soulless and forgettable. What makes this worse is the missed opportunity. This location already had a reputation for quality Italian food. All Pizzaicata had to do was respect that standard and instead they lowered it dramatically. If you never experienced Bottega, maybe this place feels "okay." But if you did, the difference is painful. Bottom line: - Overpriced - Bland food - Poor execution - Zero authenticity - A downgrade in every possible way I gave one star because Yelp doesn't allow zero. Glendale deserved better than this. I won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for real Italian food or even decent pizza. read more
