Ordered on a food app. There's a lot I liked about the NY style pizza. Quality ingredients. Great crust. I would say the sauce was hard to find so that's the only negative. We were looking for a place to try some good NY style on the way home from church today and found Little Ray's on the NE corner of 59th Ave and the 101. They serve slices every day, par-baked cheese and can then add any other toppings. From 11a-4p daily, they have a lunch special: 2 slices + drink for $8.65, with extra toppings $0.75 each. That's a pretty ballpark price for good NY slices, from what I've seen around the Valley (we were just at Buono's WF last Friday and the same special was $8.99). They add Sicilian slices to this repertoire on Fridays, with new pies going into the oven around 11am and 3pm. When assessing a new place, I like to start with a good baseline, a plain cheese slice. And Little Ray's did not disappoint. They make their dough and sauce in-house daily. Their NY style is a thin, light crust with a nice crunch, especially on the back end. Good cook on the crust, too; the undercarriage held up well and although it had a little bit of flop, it wasn't too bad and was very fold-friendly. Great ratio of cheese to sauce, which to us had just the right level of sweetness. I got photos of everything but the flop; sorry, will make a note for next time. My second slice was pepperoni. Although I prefer pepperoni cups, this was good, too, and as you can see from the photos, there was PLENTY of it. My last slice was pepperoni, sausage and bacon. I thought the sausage had plenty of flavor yet was not fatty. My wife had 2 slices of Hawaiian, which she loved. Our server, Matt, was very friendly and attentive. Overall, we were very happy with our experience at Little Ray's and have added it to our west side short list when we want some quick and delicious NY slices! read more

We love in Gilbert and we were in the area visiting the Waterpark. We decided to give Little Rays a try and we are glad we did. The service was great and friendly. The pepperoni pizza was delicious. The hot and mild wings were great. The large side of fries was huge. We will definitely be back next time we are on this side of town. read more

The menu is big and includes appetizers, pizzas, and warm plates. The food is delicious and served in abundance (expect leftovers!) We have tried their pizzas (perfect thin crust that holds toppings in place - no floppy pizza here!), fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, and cheesy tortellini so far. Absolutely amazing food and service! Three tv's play in the seating area, which is nice and clean. Bathrooms are clean, too. We expect to become regulars here. read more

I came over to Little Ray's for a quick lunch when I discovered my usual pizza spot across the street was closed for their summer break. I ordered a mushroom slice to go, and the guy at the counter told me he was just about to pull a fresh pizza out of the oven and it would be a few minutes. I sat down to wait, and 5 or so minutes later, my order was ready. I ate the slice in my car and it was super fresh and hot, with crispy crust that still had good chew to it. No floppy crust here! I would prefer if the sauce was a touch sweeter, but that's my preference and this pizza was by no means bad. Super tasty, it definitely hit the spot for a midday pizza craving! I really wanted to like this place, we like supporting small, local owned businesses. The place itself is nice and clean. Service was pretty good, the waitress refilled our drinks without us asking, which is always nice. The issue is the food. The Pizza was bland, the wings were just okay and the Bruchetta was very sour. Not sure if the Balsalmic was out of code or what, but later that night I got violently sick. My husband and I love trying new pizza spots so I was excited to see this place open not super far from us! We called in our order, a large half cheese half jalapeño pizza with cheesy garlic bread. It was ready right on time and pickup was easy! We wished there was a little more cheese burn on the cheesy garlic bread but it wasn't bad at all! The pizza was big and pretty tasty! I hate to do it but I can't in good conscience give out higher than one star for this place. My wife and I have dined in many times, bringing friends now and then, so we've given them more than a fair number of chances to get things right. Unfortunately, nothing has changed despite all the time elapsed and repeat conversations with management to give my feedback. First off, the food has always been spot on. Let's be clear about that much. We loved everything we've tried here, pizza, wings, even the fettuccine was surprisingly good. I love the crust and the white pizza was my absolute favorite (and I'm picky about white pizza!) Sadly, service is where this place goes to the dogs. Even when the place is empty and I mean truly just us in there, the service is poor. Slow, inattentive and sometimes downright rude. Servers are too busy adjusting the TVs to noruceti need a drink refill. Almost never got asked if the food was to our liking. Always took ages to get the check too. Many times no place settings, have to ask for fotkst, knives and plates to eat the appetizers because the servers are checked out and dint notice these items missing. I could go on, but you get the idea. I spoke with management several times, tell them I love the food and want them to succeed but that they really need to do better on the basics. Nothing ever changed though. Sorry but I just can't recommend them. I think they'll be out of business within months if this continues, because they're progressively more empty each time we've gone there, with less and less takeout happening during our meals. I'll be sad to see them go but they brought it on themselves. What a shame. read more

After a dozen visits in the last couple months I can confirm that the food is on point. Delicious pizzas, pasta dishes, wings and cesar chicken salad. Service is excellent, always friendly & helpful. In addition to the offered refrigerated parm shaker, the table offered red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning shakers. A garlic powder shaker! Very cool.
