In town for work and after a long day on the Josie decided to give a local place a try. Menu has a large selection of foods and styles of food. Decided to go with the Cajun pasta with chicken. Back home when you order Cajun anything it's barely spiced. That was not the case here. The spice was just the right amount. The flavors were more than cayenne pepper. The noodles were done great and the beer was cold. The only knock was the chicken was dry but it had great flavor just took a few more chews. Bar staff is great. Atmosphere is clean modern and comfortable with NM informational commercials on HDTVs and pleasant music. There is usually some sports on a few TVs. But the food is lackluster. Do not get the tacos on Taco Tuesday. The carne asada was flavorless, cheese is ok, bland semi-soft tortillas and cilantro the tastiest part. All of this unimpressive cuisine comes in the form of lukewarm minuscule taco-like open face edible on a hot plate. For better food, head next door to Plaza South restaurant. While I didn't love our food service was good and considerate. I got the nachos which seemed to have a can of beans piled on top with little cheese. They also seem to be heavy on seasonings, a friend got pasta with garlic bread but more garlic than bread taste. What took my review down to 2 stars was a friend got the trio plate (queso, salsa, and guac with chips) and her queso tastes funny... like it might have been bad. read more

So we were on the way to our normal Friday evening place, Plaza Cafe Southside, when the boy wanted us to try this place. Drawing a direct comparison with its next door neighbor, here is what we concluded. Everything we had (Chicken Alfredo, Green Chile Pork Stew, and Fried Coconut Shrimp) was good. The nachos, however, were just OK. Plaza cafe's nachos are much better. The Posole at Plaza Cafe is also superior to the stew I had. We did, however, note that prices at Capitol Grill were lower than the Plaza Cafe. All in all a positive experience and with a cost conscious spouse, we're bound to return. read more

They are charging 16-20 dollars for half of a sushi roll. On their "special" sushi menu it is rife with spelling errors. No one proof read these before they printed and lamenated them. For example: cream is spelled "ream", with "whit", white "whit", of "off". The waitress showed up exactly three times: once to take our order, second time to serve it, and then a yawning 30 minutes before she showed up with the bill, which we hadn't asked for. I came in excited with high hopes, because I've heard Capitol Grill is an amazing place to have dinner. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. When my wife and I walked in, we were not greeted for over 2 minutes, despite being the only two people in the entrance and two girls standing at the host stand. It took over 5 minutes for our server to come and greet us, despite the fact that she saw us get seated in her section. We asked questions about their drink menu, but unfortunately she was not familiar with them. Our drinks had ingredients that were not listed on the menu, and did not taste how they should have. The cosmo tasted like a lemon drop and the old fashioned was extremely watered down. The mozzarella balls were flavorless to me, but my wife said they were "decent". We never received any silverware or napkins. Maybe I'm being too picky but I personally did not have a good experience, the 2 stars are because my wife semi enjoyed the cheese. Worst food ever!!! we ordered food for our team and I ordered the tenders and fries they tasted awful like the food was expired that bitter aftertaste and the fries did not taste right didn't even try to attempt to eat the gross food my other teammates got the shrimp salad they stated that what ever they used to cook the shrimp made the complete meal taste disgusting my staff felt ill after eating and then my last team members got tacos and took one bite and where done we gave all the food to our dog that came with us it was $80 wasted for poor quality food in my opinion I think the management and cooks just gave up! I had the worst experience at this restaurant. I kid you not. 1.) The waiter lost our meal order ticket. My family and I had to wait an extra thirty minutes and watch tables around us receive their food before us. 2.) When our food finally came, the waiter handed me my plate and I dropped it on the table because it was scorching hot. I didn't know it was hot and he didn't say anything. He just handed it to me. 3.) I took a beat before eating to focus on my burnt skin. Finally, with my one good hand, I thought nothing could get worse. That was until I found a strand of hair in my food. I returned my food and I refused to order anything further. I sat there while my family ate. In the end, he did remove my club sandwich from the bill and did offer another dish. But from the theme of things, I knew he would have charged me for the new meal and so I refused. By that point, my hand was burning and so I paid our very big bill and left hungry. We ended up placing our food order with a separate server because of this. We ordered a beer, a lemon drop and two waters to drink. The lemon drop was not very good. For food, we ordered the prime rib burrito and a bowl of green chile stew. The food was okay. No real bite to the chile, so that was disappointing especially for New Mexico! First impressions: it's a little hard to find once you enter the San Isidro Plaza. The menu online is apparently "the old menu" according to our server. For example, the online menu offers chili con queso or guacamole with chips for $6.99. The only similar option in house is the Capitol Trio which adds a serving of salsa for a total if $10.99. Upsell, anyone!?! The trio is just ok. The guacamole isn't bad, but could use a little more seasoning. The queso tastes like melted Kraft American cheese slices and the salsa has a peculiar, perhaps vinegary taste. The chips are tri-colored & nice and crispy. My patty melt was decent but I was getting full. The potatoes au gratin needed some serious seasoning. They were just boring. My wife had the Capitol green chili/bacon cheeseburger. Her roll looked nice but was soggy as can be! The tomato was tasteless & the lettuce was wilted big-time. Now the good news: her green chili Mac & cheese was terrific! Best part of the meal! We'd come back just for a bowl of that! Our server said they make a really good green chili chicken fettuccine. If it's as good as the Mac & cheese it's worth the trip! Their "happy hour" runs from 3:00 to 6:00 (I think) and the prices for well drinks & draft beers are very reasonable. They serve the well drink Moscow Mule in a copper mug! YAY! We go to capital grille very often for lunch and we always ask for Mabel because she is the best server ever. Today my husband had the cheeseburger with green chili and it was the best burger he had had in ages I had about three bites of it and it was absolutely mouthwatering I had ordered the calamari and ate some of it but when calamari is big sometimes it's tough and there's nothing you can do about it but I love their Caesar salad we always add blue cheese crumbles and onion to it and we go very often to this restaurant they have a very diverse menu and you can order anything the way you like it and by the way Mabel took back the calamari insisted on it even though I didn't want her to and took it off our bill she is the best you can't go wrong by eating here. read more
