This spot is conveniently located right on the Ojo property, making it an easy choice for visitors. When you're that relaxed, the last thing you want to worry about is what to cook for lunch. We stopped by for lunch during our soaking session. Admittedly, we were a little unsure about showing up in the robes provided at check-in, but the restaurant didn't seem to mind at all--very spa-friendly vibes. The patio seating is lovely, with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. Just a heads-up: in the afternoons, some tables lack shade, and the staff seems mindful not to seat guests where it might be uncomfortably hot. Inside, the restaurant is cool and pleasant, with large windows that let you take in the scenery--trees, the pond, birds fluttering about. It's a serene backdrop for a meal. Service was a bit slow, and it felt like we waited quite a while for our food. That said, once it arrived, it was worth the wait. I went with the fish tacos on the patio. While the fish itself was slightly overdone, the flavors were fantastic. The cabbage slaw, jicama slaw, and mango salsa came together beautifully--bright, fresh, and layered. Before enjoying our spa day, we came here to have a late lunch and i was impressed by this spot. They had a beautiful view of the spanning resort and nicely decorated dining room. Four different people looked after us including the CDC Zach, who brought us out our entrees. I chose to go with the beef brisket sandwich on a french baguette, with arugula, cheddar cheese, grilled onions and a balsamic glaze. It was so good, with plenty of meat that went beyond what i thought of the amount that i expected. It got a little messy, but it was a fantastic sandwich. My girlfriend chose the southwest club, with smoked ham, turkey, NM green chile, cheddar, applewood smoked bacon (that was flavored and crisp to perfection), lettuce, tomato and wheatberry bread and red chile aioli. She gave me the bacon and enjoyed the sandwich overall. The thing that stood out, more for my girlfriend was the hibiscus, vodka and Prosecco drink. It got her messed up, hitting her hard. She pondered on having a second, but because we hadn't done our session, I told her not to have another, so she could enjoy the experience left to come. I look forward to making that drink for her in the future so kudos on the Blue Heron to throw a KO drink. I told Chef Zach, i would be saying a lot of good things about his restaurant. Since it's the only restaurant at/near Ojo springs, convenience is definitely the draw. Service is slow and not very friendly. Quintessential SF decor, which I love. Dishes had great flavor but poorly executed. Green chile eggs Benedict had rich hollandaise with chopped green and poached egg, but the both ham and English muffin were so tough I couldn't cut w/ knife and fork. The French toast had a nice orange essence. But it wasn't cooked well: burnt outside and underdone inside. Lunch was better bc it was simpler. Club sandwich was generous and came with side. The unexpected delight was the Nana's chocolate mousse. What a delight! I would eat here if you were staying at the Ojo resort but I would not make a special trip. 4.5 stars Came here on Monday for lunch and there was no wait in the restaurant. My dad got the club and I got the squash soup ($8). The soup wasn't quite wasn't what I was expecting as it came in a martini glass (guess I should've gone with the blue corn pancakes). It was very warm temperature-wise and the local honey added some sweetness to it. Since we were celebrating my birthday, they brought out a small chocolate cake with berries. The ONLY reason to eat here is convenience -- if you're staying at Ojo Santa Fe, there aren't many choices nearby. I don't think anyone in the kitchen actually tastes the food, they just crank it out. This is truly a sin, because there SO MANY fantastic restaurants to choose from in Santa Fe. We dressed up since it seemed to be a bit of a nicer restaurant, but everyone else was dressed down. It was pretty and bright inside with lots of natural light. I got the ribeye steak with truffle parmesan fries and asparagus and it was good. I thought the steak lacked seasoning but other than that, I enjoyed my meal. Reservations were not hard to get the day of. Everything was delicious, but it is very much on the high end. This is your full disclaimer you can pass on the salad, it's not as exciting as you would hope paying $12 for a half size (even though the size is quite impressive.) The pita bread & honey whip dip on other the hand is a MUST TRY - but fair warning it is so sweet it could almost be had for desert (it's giving Sopaipilla.) The pasta featured is also delicious as well, but there's enough to serve 3. Portion sizes for price make sense. But pricing at location does not imo. read more

I dined here twice while staying at the Santa Fe Ojo Spa resorts. They recommend making reservations once your trip is booked if you're staying overnight. However, we felt that totally unnecessary. In fact I think after our like 12 hour journey in the middle of the night to get to New Mexico we were starving and pretty much were the first ones at the door for when they opened for lunch service. I like the aesthetics and simple style of the decor of the dining room. The windows are open on to the terraces and view of the grounds of the spa creating kind of a serene dining experience. When it's warmer you can dine outside as well. For being such an expensive restaurant I appreciate that craft beer in can is still only $6 a pop. I tried some stuff from Santa Fe Brewing that's pretty close by. I also appreciate that for all meals they give you a complimentary bread plate of some kind of sweet corn bread and then another type that's more of a blue corn cornbread with beautifully designed butter. The bread is amazing and slightly sweet. For lunch I went with the Camino Real Combo. Which is a sandwich. I think I was confused over what it was and thought it was a combo platter but really its a stacked sandwich of shaved rib eye, mild italian sausage, onion, sweet peppers, hatch green chile, and asadaro cheese. Accompanied with a side of sweet potato fries. The boy got the Old Tortuga grilled chicken sandwich with applewood bacon, lettuce, tomato, roasted salsa, guacamole, cholula lime aioli. Both were pretty good. Again, ravenous but also each are like $16-18 sandwiches. . . Came back the same day for dinner which apparently I just checked online and they've changed things up and now are only open for breakfast and dinner hours. Which I guess makes sense with us being one of few patrons there for lunch and there's a smaller cafe down the block for very basic lunch needs at a cheaper value. The dinner menu was similar minus sandwiches and more of a focus on quality meats and big dishes. They stupidly add on a fee if you are sharing an appetizer. I've never encountered this in my life. They should definitely do away with that rule. I went with the vegetarian stacked enchiladas partially because it was one of the cheaper items on the menu and adding a protein costs about $10-15 extra. They were really phenomenal and insanely filling. We both got salads as well because health and he got the wagyu flank steak with potatoes and asparagus. Which while I'm assuming was good (someone doesn't like to share) was a considerably smaller portion size for it's almost $40 price tag while mine I had leftovers for the next day. Choose wisely. Decent food overall and from what I can tell a lot of the food is sourced local and organically which explains why most of their chunks of meat are like $40-50. But I would say only treat yourself to coming here once and stick to the cheaper cafe if you're starving. read more

Thanksgiving dinner , fixed price . We were not greated with a smile or a welcome . The menu was close to a traditional thanksgiving meal. We ordered drinks and our meal first plat appeared before our drinks and half way through the plate our main plate arrived. We sent it back . My small tanale was Lukewarm ,dry and not special. the main plate came out again and was piled high with turkey , gravy potatoes , cranberries and root vegetables. nothing elegant here. the dressing was not warm . I was still working on my aperitif and decided not to bother with a glass of wine. Dessert was nothing special. The vegetarian cauliflower dish was 28 dollars and had canned tomatoes , unseasoned steamed spinach, and corn that was either from a can or previously frozen. Sea bass was overpriced but good nonetheless. Overall it's a beautiful space but the food doesn't quite catch up with the four star caliber of the resort. If you're able to explore Santa Fe, would recommend doing so as there are amazing food options within 20-30 minutes. read more

The restaurant is on the grounds of Ojo Santa Fe and the grounds are gorgeous. It's a beautiful setting for an outdoor meal. I had the ojo tortuga which is a chicken sandwich with salsa, guac, aioli and if you eat bacon, also bacon. It was a decent sandwich but the truffle fries were the things that really stole the meal. I probably would have been ok with just a giant plate of fries and hey for a day of relaxation there's no judging! The grilled chicken was done well and not overcooked. They seemed to be severely understaffed, we had arrived near the start of lunch timing so service was pretty slow. If you're on the grounds, it's definitely worth a stop but expect it to be a bit pricey, but that's rather expected if you're out for a spa day. read more

Service was painfully slow as they are severely undersraffed; it took 20 mins to even get water. This is nonfault of the waitstaff, they're doing their best, but they are very underserved. We sat by the window, and our table had ants crawling over it all night. And the food was abysmal. I had the Pasta Pomodoro in Ojo Caliente and it was incredible with fresh sauce and real tomatoes. Had the same dish here, and it is clear that the food here is off the shelf - it legitimately tasted like Chef Boyardee from a can - there wasn't a single tomato in this dish. The restaurant is a small one with views for the tables at the window overlooking the grounds. The service is attentive, if somewhat stiff. The ojito (a mojito but with vodka instead of rum) is addicting. The tres leches cake is superb! The open-face enchiladas were delicious, as was breakfast. The only suggestions I think I'd have is the staff being slightly more approachable and a larger selection on the menu. The menu isn't the largest. read more

This was my second time staying at the resort, so we went to Blue Heron for breakfast and lunch. I was a bit bummed the mushroom fritters were no longer on the menu (please bring them back!), but the whipped feta was super tasty and helped me not miss the fritters. The feta+honey+pepita combo sounds weird but was so delish and hit the spot. I also tried the green chili cheeseburger which had a little heat, but was really tasty - the fries that came with it were perfectly crunchy. My friend got the poke and said it was tasty- given she didn't leave a drop behind I think she liked it. And the smoothies are a bit pricey but a refreshing breakfast treat. read more

staying at ojo overnight, we arrived mid day, planning to dine at blue heron for lunch and dinner. the difference between lunch and dinner was extreme and after tonight's meal, it will be the last time we dine at blue heron. lunch was nice. our servers name was erick and he was extremely accommodating, polite, and thoughtful. we had chips, salsa, and guacamole for an appetizer and the guac was great, salsa kind of weird. for entrees i had the green chile cheeseburger and my partner the short rib sandwich, pairing with a margarita. both entrees were good and the drinks were great. dinner was an absolute letdown and turned our opinion of this restaurant from somewhere we didn't mind not leaving ojo and driving into santa fe to eat at to somewhere i would personally never visit again. the food wasn't as good as lunch, with the scallop entree being overcooked, sea bass being dry, side dishes being mediocre, dessert bland. all together, not a deal breaker for the convenience of driving 1 minute from our room to the restaurant (hence the 3.5 average star review). what made the night a horrible experience was our server. you can expect no table greeting, empty drinks, no check up after expo runs your food, blunt and aloof responses to when you make a request, and a $200 total due. please don't let the convenience of this restaurant entice you to not go deeper into santa fe for a decent dinner. read more

This is a surprisingly nice restaurant located within the Ojo Santa Fe Spa Resort. We had a breakfast, lunch, & dinner here and all meals were excellent. My favorite meal was actually the Ojo BLT I had for lunch. It had exquisite Applewood Smoked Pork Belly, Butter Lettuce, and a fresh local tomato on toasted sourdough bread. My wife had the Ojo Homemade Herb Hummus with grilled pita bread and loved it. For dinner, the Ojo Green Chili Fries were delicious. As an entree, the Bison Bolognaise with Egg Noodles was just fine, but not a taste I'm used to. Overall, this is a great place with both indoor and outdoor dining. Support it or not, extended unemployment payments are keeping a lot of talent on the couch right now, and me thinks that's exactly what management at Blue Heron is grappling with. I didn't ask. Somebody give these people an oxygen bar! Not only is the property sitting at 7,000 feet of elevation, the lower levels of the picturesque patio here are only accessible via stairs, and if the weather's right, that's where you want to be sitting, taking in the views of cottonwood and fat, lazy koi. You'll likely experience a crisis of class-consciousness when your server wipes sweat from their brow and catches their breath before reciting today's specials. But anyway, on to the food. We were shocked when our appetizer, green chile fries, arrived. Easily ten juicy, battered peppers awaited our jaws, not remotely what my New Mexican appetite anticipated, just lovely. Course numero dos, timed to land immediately following our demolition of the first, was ceviche, astonishing (yes, my standards are low). We wrapped things up with fish tacos, I licked all of my digits, and requested they roll us back to our room. One curious note: the cocktails were wine-based. Understandable for 7K feet, but still, curious. Breakfast was delicious and service completely failed. I usually don't advocate for avocado toast, but order it.
