I was skeptical about visiting this new Texas Roadhouse location, but decided to give it a try. Sat at the bar and received friendly service. In terms of the food, I'm giving them 5 stars for what this is - which I think is how the ratings should be judged. No, this is not an upscale steakhouse with the finest cuts of meat. You also aren't paying those upscale prices. I got the 14oz Texas Ribeye ($27.49) and thought it was great for what it is. You are not going to get a far better ribeye unless you want to pay at least twice that price in Santa Fe. It was cooked medium rare as I ordered it, well seasoned, and had great flavor and not a ton of fat you have to cut around and discard. That makes a good ribeye in my book. I will definitely return and try some other steaks as well. For my sides, the Caesar salad was good (great crunchy croutons), but the mashed potatoes and brown gravy were simply OK. Potatoes were better if you dip the rolls into them. The rolls are great - so soft and buttery with a nice yeast flavor. I will definitely return again and try another steak to see how it is - but I think the ribeye is a great choice overall. read more

The food was honestly okay. The best thing out of everything we ate was the cinnamon butter rolls. I got the 6oz sirloin steak and I've honestly had better. It could be because I asked for it medium well but it was dry and flavorless. My friend liked his and he got it medium rare. Said it was good for the price which is true. Idk if it's because my friends were hyping up the place but I had higher expectations than what we ended getting. Food is very mid but depending on what u get it's decent for the price. I definitely won't be doing the steaks again tho. The servers were nice and attentive. The dining area was clean and gave that country feel which was nice. The music wasn't too loud. I met the family here for a special dinner. My first impression was that it was extremely loud and overstimulating. The place was also very packed and busy. Our server was great and answered all our questions and struck up conversation whenever it was initiated. Cocktails were delicious. Add ons were offered to the meal (such as mushrooms and onion on my steak). Even though they were forgotten, he rushed quickly to fix it and bring them out to me. Everyone in our party seemed to enjoy their meal, except my daughter who complained that her steak was too fatty. In town for work and grabbed a late night meal. Just two of us so we got seated pretty quickly at the bar. I got the chicken fried chicken, potato and a salad. We arrived around 4:30. Parking lot was packed! Once inside we 2 only had a short wait, that after being lead to a table where the girl unloaded 6 plates, utensils and basket of rolls. My hubby told her there was only 2 of us, she looked at her ticket again, apologized and led us back to the front waiting area. ( could she not tell 6 people weren't following her?) Anyway, the place was VERY busy, but here came another guy who led us to a table close to the bathroom area, but certainly more quiet. Young waiter came as we were thinking we had to order everything on our phones as there were no menus given. We are old and not that savvy about ordering by phone. He said he could take our order, which he did. We ordered a Hot Blossom onion and a Margarita, a large beer, 2 salads, prime rib & a half rack of ribs. After awhile here came our waiter with our drinks and another helper with our 2 salads. I said we really wanted the onion with our drinks first and our waiter kinda snappy replied it wasn't done yet and left. So, we had salad and drinks. About 4 minutes later here came the onion! We nibbled on it but it had been too well cooked and the dipping sauce was nothing exciting either. We maybe ate a couple bites of it and suddenly here came our meats! Geez! Now we hadn't even finished our salad and here sits absolutely everything we ordered! I just looked at the helper gal who brought the meat and she apologized for everything coming out at once, but offered no solution. We did see our waiter a couple times checking on us, but that was that. We ate about a quarter of the yucky onion, about half our salads and our meat. Needless to say, we weren't blown away by this meal. The meat was very good, as was my baked yam. We had @ gift card, so ordered 2 strawberry cheesecakes to go. Those were very good, as well. Food was good as always. Waitress wasn't very attentive. Luckily we aren't super needy . Ambiance was the worst the noise was 83 decibels . The music was way too loud and then everyone was trying to compete with the music just to hold a conversation. My father tried adjusting his hearing aids and the ambient noise filter still didn't work for him. So if you want to come enjoy the food here , I'd recommend ear plugs . No ioke . So we went back in May for dinner... low & behold, the former manager who used to manage the Cottonwood Mall location that's at the Santa Fe location FINALLY got on board & started offering the Veteran discount EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. Amazing! I seriously don't know why the dude didn't offer the Veteran discount every day from day one opening. We might go more often. Then I ordered a drink, but they said they could not make it, you have order from limited drink menu only. My friend got her steak undercooked. My steak + shrimp + potato were good. Intolerably loud at all times. We tried it three times. The first time the chicken fried steak was literally inedible. After the food was dropped off the waiter never checked in. We paid for the food and left almost full plates on the table. The second two times the food was fine (only appetizers and salads) and service was mediocre. But three visits on different days and times, two of the three not during peak hours, and we couldn't hear each other across the table without yelling. The music is kept at dive bar volume. First time. Our server was really nice and efficient. My Partner's Prime rib was very good and cooked correctly for medium rare.. My NY steak, however, was very well done--way overcooked, when I asked for "medium". I did not request for it to be returned because I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. Food was great. Service needs help. We sat at the bar and after 10min of being ignored, we were finally seen by one of the bar tenders. All good, we know it's busy and very aware of how it goes. Ordered our drinks and food (Prime rib- med rare, loaded baked potato and a cup of chili) just to make sure we got everything in. Bread came out after 5min of them taking the food order and being told they'd grab those for us. Again, all good, it's a busy Monday. The cup of chili is dropped off and it's delicious. Then Prime rib gets dropped off, but missing the raw horse radish. No worries, easy fix. The person drops off the steak asked if we needed a plate, so we said yes. At this point there's no potato, still no horseradish. We split the steak and use the bread plate. Half way through eating the steak, still no plate and No potato. We did get the horseradish, so it's all good. We managed to almost finish our cup of chili and steak before the potato came out. No extra plate. Oh well, the food was great, service needed help. Food was good, though steaks appear smaller. The service was terrible. We ordered and when our food came, we were not asked to cut into our steaks to see if it was to our liking. The waiter asked if we wanted Tabasco or A1, my husband answered "Yes." He said okay, walked the 10 steps away from our table where the condiments were, and kept walking. Our waitress did not come back to check on us until we were done eating. The food we requested for take out at the beginning when we ordered our food was still not ready 25 minutes after we finished our meal. The waitress asked if we wanted a refill on our coffee as we waited for the take out. Then brought an almost empty carafe giving us each about an eighth of a cup COLD coffee. My husband complained to the manager who offered a weak apology. This is the second time we had poor service. They did not prepare my dister-in-law's pork chop correctly, and didn't bring her pork chop back until we were done eating. Did not get my brother-in-law's order correct, and forgot my fries. We told the waiter and manager but despite the apologies, we still did not get what we ordered. I should have learned from that experience we piece. I will not be returning. read more

Four of us ate at Texas Roadhouse on 16 October 2025. That night one of us,, an 84 yr old woman, was violently ill , presumably from the cheeseburger she ate there. The burger and a few french fries were the only thing she ate. She threw up completely and experienced extreme itching about 11:00 PM. Her illness did not continue after she expelled her dinner.
