This place is very clean and the service was Friendly! I ordered the temporary and steak plate. The price was good and the amount of food was a ton! The steak didn't taste that great but was decent. It's definitely a fast food Japanese place. I think if I lived close to it I may try it again because maybe I ordered the wrong thing. The salads didn't have much flavor. I love the concept of this place!

I had a couple of hours to kill after landing at Burbank Airport and needed something quick but decent within walking distance while waiting for my train. After checking out a few nearby options, I landed on SanSai Grill (pardon the pun). It looked clean, convenient, and had solid reviews -- so I figured it was worth a try. The Vibe: This spot sits in a strip center near the airport, so there's not a ton of atmosphere -- it does feel a little sterile, to be honest. That said, it was spotless, which I really appreciate when traveling. Service: Service was exactly what I expected: friendly, efficient, and no fuss. You order at the counter, grab a number, and they bring the food out to your table. Nothing particularly memorable, but also nothing to complain about -- just smooth and easy, which was exactly what I wanted after a flight. Food & Drinks: I went with the Salmon Bowl over brown rice and added the Sumi Salad on the side. The presentation was clean, and everything tasted fresh, though the flavors were pretty mild. The teriyaki sauce was standard, and the Sumi Salad -- while crisp -- didn't have much personality beyond the crunch. (It's cabbage, carrots, green onions, almonds, sesame seeds, and crispy noodles with their house dressing.) The brown rice was fine, and I stuck with water since I was rehydrating post-flight. Overall: It definitely hit the spot for what I needed -- a quick, healthy lunch before catching my train down to San Diego. I know there are several SanSai Grill locations around LA, and while I wouldn't go out of my way to visit one, I wouldn't hesitate to stop in again if I were nearby. Clean, convenient, and solid -- just not one that leaves a lasting impression.

Chicken Bowl with a Kale Salad as a side.

I've been here a few times for a quick lunch. I had a decent meal at SanSai Japanese Grill and would rate it a solid 4/5. I ordered the Chicken Bowl with a Kale Salad, and while the salad was fresh, crunchy, and had a nice balance of flavors, the chicken left a bit to be desired. It was tender but lacked seasoning, making it feel a little bland. A bit more sauce or spice would've made a big difference. I also tried the California Roll, which was fresh but unfortunately pretty dull. It didn't have much flavor and felt like it was missing that extra something to make it stand out. While nothing was bad, the flavors just didn't wow me. Despite that, the portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh, making it a good choice for a quick and casual meal. I'd go back, but I'd probably try something different next time!

I haven't had SanSai in years, since they had closed the location nearest to me several years ago. I was surprised to know that there are some still around. This SanSai location is right beside Burbank Airport. Literally the next lot, so be mindful when driving here because you might pass it or make a mistake driving into the Airport traffic. Plenty of free parking here shared with several restaurants & businesses. Service was friendly when ordering at the counter. But really no interaction after that. Only when your order is ready, you get your food from the them. Plenty of seating, although our table we chose was a tad sticky & bench seating had a slight stench. Other than that... I give them 3 1/2 Stars, rounded up to 4. It was nice to have a quick dinner here w/ my +1 before my flight on a Friday night. It's a convenient location overall & other places nearby. Good portion for dinner. I enjoyed my salad & salmon. I'm here for the Lunch Bowls, Plates & Oriental Salad. It was also my + 1's first time trying them out & already mentioned he will return to another SanSai nearby.

This place never lets us down. We are here almost every weekend and food is fresh and delicious. We see people that we recognize that come here every weekend as well, so it's not just us that's enjoying this place. Irene, Karla, Miguel and Charlie as always give their customers an outstanding service. They never fail to give us a smile. It's truly a delight to have someone like Irene lead this team. Thank you for keeping this place so welcoming and clean!

Update a year later! Back here for another conference and came back here for lunch...happy to report they have reusable plates & bowls, yay! Tried out the salmon bowl Cajun style, so it wasn't saucy, so not recommended if you like sauce on your food! Tasty as expected, and I was able to switch out the salad for a grilled veggies skewer instead, thanks! Also ordered some spicy tuna roll. Staff are still friendly and helpful here, a plus! And I like the bright and light feel of the space...break from all day conference talks! A good go to for fast food Japanese!

Came back for more before heading to the City that never sleeps...Love this place. We had the Steak plate, the Chicken plate and a Cheeto roll and Tiger roll. We chose brown rice over white, the sumi salad over the oriental and kale salads, and it also came with the miso soups. The staff was Awesome, again. The meals again were SOO good! The miso soup is comforting and delish. The meats were grilled just right. Thanks again, Sansai!

Great service. I was at a convention at the LA Marriot Burbank airport and afterwards, my friends wanted to eat somewhere walking distance. This came up as an option, and we all walked over. It was near closing (which I didn't realize until later), but they didn't treat us any differently, and they didn't rush us at all. Even at the end, when they were closed, they let me use the bathroom right before we left. I'm not sure if it's because it was near closing or not, or they always do this, but we ordered multiple of the Family Packs so that all of us would have enough food. The portion sizes were large and I'm pretty sure they gave us a lot of extra rice. They even let us eat there, even though these are typically take-out orders only. The Potstickers were good, and it seemed like everyone liked them. The chicken and veggies were alright. They had a nice variety of chicken and veggies included. The California roll was just okay. Most people in my group didn't eat these.

Ramen and kids chicken plate (1 potsticker already eaten)

Located right next to the airport which is convenient if you're waiting for someone to arrive and have time to kill. I ordered the Ramen which was lacking - soup had no flavor, pork belly was ok, noodle cooked ok and egg wasn't done because the whites were still watery. My 7 year old liked it so that was a plus. The child's chicken plate was a good deal; came with rice and good amount of chicken. Chicken was tender and sauce good. My daughter really liked the potstickers and even asked me to order more. Hubby got the pole which he liked. Seemed to have a lot of food at a decent price. It came with miso soup which both my daughter and hubby really liked. Located in a plaza with other food options. Plenty of parking. It's a decent option if you need to be near the airport and want some Japanese food, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

    Potstickers and Red Bull roll

A cute spot to grab lunch or an easy dinner. I ordered on the self service kiosk i which was nice since I was able to look through all the options and take my time. The staff seemed nice and my food didn't take long to come out. The pork potstickers have a nice crunch on the exterior and have a gentle spice to them that's very subtle but noticeable enough to add a depth of flavor. The Red Bull roll had carrot which I thought was an interesting and added a harder crunch factor. I did end up taking the carrot out of most of the roll. The three types of protein, shrimp, crab, and spicy tuna make a a mouth full of fun flavors. Something creamy like avocado or cream cheese would have been a nice addition. Overall the food was good and the interior of the restaurant was pleasant.

    Exceptionally salty poke nachos.

Everything's made with organic, natural ingredients, so you can feel healthy... while eating something the size of your head. The…read morefood ended up being bland, overly salty, cold, and honestly nowhere near worth the price. We came on a weekend for brunch and they had already run out of menus at the front, so people in line were just standing there trying to figure out what to order with nothing to look at beforehand. The tables took a long time to be cleaned. Parking: Metered parking on the main street, but there's free parking at the garage near the AMC. Food: We got the Chilaquiles and Ribeye, Pastrami Burger, and two coffees, which was $72. For that price, I expected the food to have good flavor and quality. The coffee tasted super watered down, the pastrami burger was way too salty, and the fries came out cold. The ribeye was honestly the biggest disappointment. After hearing it was "the best ribeye around," I had high hopes and ordered it medium rare, excited to try it. The ribeye turned out to be a really small, thin cut of meat that was overcooked and tasted pretty cheap compared to how it's hyped up online. The chilaquiles were bland and soggy, and the beans were too. The whole meal just felt really underwhelming for the price. Service: Pretty minimal and slow. You order at the counter, grab a number, and they eventually bring the food out. Nobody checked in on us. Overall, Wild Carvery felt way overhyped from all the online reels and food posts. The food definitely did not live up to how it's portrayed online. The only thing I really liked was the location in downtown Burbank.
