They're open again and better than ever! With not many healthy options around this place continues to be my go to for lunch. Service is always on point too.

Fresh and very tasty chicken salad sandwich!

Driving down San Fernando Road at the end of the Burbank Airport runway I found Seventeen Cafe. It was lunchtime and the patio with umbrella covered tables was inviting. The menu includes and array of sandwiches, salads, and soups all of which sounded tasty. I chose the chicken salad sandwich with a side order of the stuffed grape leaves. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming. The patio turned out to be well shaded and surrounded by a fence with a privacy screen which made this open air space feel very nice. The sandwich was made with fresh multigrain bread. The chicken salad was yummy accompanied by tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, pepperoncini and lettuce. All of the veggies were crunchy and fresh. So good! The stuffed grape leaves (always have to try the stuffed grape leaves when they are on the menu) tasted home made. The kind you would get as part of the offerings at a big family celebration! Yum! I loved my first visit to Seventeen Cafe. If I am in the area in the future I will definitely navigate here for lunch or just a quick snack. So glad I stopped by today!

Wholesome good food. I had a sandwich and soup and both were very good. Very clean facility and nice staff.

Fantastic, super fresh. Best roast beef sammy and chx salad sammy. The muffins look like they're from Costco, but that's ok, get a sandwich.

    Plants on the patio.

Great service, delicious food, and cute patio. The food was delicious and made with care, the yard is really nice with plants all over. I will definitely be returning.

Extracted arugula and pepperoncini from the breakfast burrito. Pure sacrilege!

Seems my review is going against the grain, but it is what it is. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast burrito. Description: scrambled eggs, cheese, green peppers, tomato and red onions. Nope. Wrong. Incorrect. Don't believe the hype. Instead I got scrambled eggs, MAYBE cheese, red peppers (no issue with different color), red onions, cabbage, pepperoncini, and lots and lots of arugula. There may or may not have been tomatoes in there. Usually veggies in a burrito are not crunchy. They're cooked and mixed in with the eggs. Nope, not in this burrito. Everything was crunchy. And let's talk about the obvious... arugula? Pepperoncini? Cabbage? Who sat there and decided these were a good idea for a burrito? They completely ruined the burrito in taste and texture and I'm simply not belonging. Absolute burrito sacrilege. If they added spinach that would have been acceptable but not crunchy lettuce! Taste-wise, same disappointment. No flavors jumped out at me whatsoever. I had to add Tabasco to get some flavor. Otherwise, bland and crunchy and not pleasant. They stuff it so deep with the arugula that when I pulled it out, the size of the burrito shrunk in half. (Photo of innards attaches.) Please, oh rule of the Seventeen Cafe kitchen, look up how to make a proper burrito and stop serving this horrific creation.

    Shaded patio seating!

Seventeen cafe is a little piece of heaven in an unexpected location. The cafe is in the middle of an industrial area in Burbank with unpaved roads in some portions which can make parking tricky but the visit is totally worth it. As soon as you step Into the cafe, you forget the hustle and bustle going on outside. The two women running the front counter are very sweet and quick to prepare your order. I tried the tuna sandwich on wheat with everything on it and a cup of their lentil soup. All of it was fresh and delicious! I highly suggest sitting in their small but shaded patio area, full of beautiful succulents! I like coming here on my lunch breaks because the food and the atmosphere both energize me and give me the fuel to finish my day!

Ask the Community - Seventeen Cafe

Is this place open now, in August 2023? Their website says they closed on June 19th to do maintenance and the phone number doesn't work.

Yes we are open now and looking forward to see you!

Is seventeen cafe take out only or is there a dine in option?

There is a great little patio for eating in but you do order at a counter.

Inside is fairly large with many different size tables so they can host many different sized groups. One thing I love about these sort of places is the service and this spot did not disappoint. Our waitress was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out super fast. There is a small free parking lot attached in front otherwise free street parking is also easy to find. I love how eclectic it is on the inside, every inch of the wall is covered in a collage of American memorabilia and various different things from various different places. It's really fun to glance at all of it while you're waiting for your food. As you would expect the menu is very large and filled with all sorts of diner classics. For this breakfast, I chose the Chili Cheese Omelette and really enjoyed it. It was a large sized portion and had some great flavor to it. The coffee is also really strong and I was a big fan of that as well. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area and make sure to bring cash.

The shop is completely non-descript from the street. The lettering is small and the windows are tinted and you feel like you're about to enter a drab office, but when you open the door, you're treated to a feast for the senses. The space spans a mix of cafe, boutique gift shop, and bodega. Everything feels curated and little discoveries await you for those who are culinary minded. For example, I discovered that they sell frozen burritos from Las Palmas and frozen pizzas from Mozza?! Someone clearly knows their way across the culinary food map of Los Angeles. If you can pry your eyes long enough from wandering the corners of the store, you can finally place your order of breakfast, lunch or coffee/tea. I just took my cold cuts sandwich on house-made ciabatta to the proverbial mattress. The bread had enough structure to handle the piles of quality deli meats, yet was less dense than some other ciabatta breads I've tried. But, it did an admirable job packing in the flavors from the spicy peppers, cheese, meats. Wow. I'm just gonna say that this cold cuts sandwich was one of my top 3 from LA. As I grazed the bakery display, a patron whispered that I should try the biscuit with jam and butter. The guy was wearing Cheetos socks so I immediately felt that his recommendation was trustworthy. I threw in my lot with the biscuit and oh boy, did it (and his recommendation) deliver. Humble looking on the outside, there's a nice salted, buttery crust to the exterior that opens up to an inviting platform to slather on creamy butter and jam. I fully understand why he felt the extra calories were worth it. I'd do it again. Of course, I couldn't order a biscuit without a drink, so I tried their summery limoncello cream iced matcha with oat milk - summers in Kyoto and Sicily combine for a refreshing and satisfyingly creamy bever-"aaage" that adds some pep to your step, even when the mercury pushes past 100. Enjoyed with the biscuit, I was darn near ready to call it a day as I had probably experienced my best moment of the day. Little Nelly is officially on my weekly rotation from here on out.

The latte came out fairly quickly and it was good, not too sweet at all. But I ended up waiting about 20 minutes for the burrito so I think if you want food from here, it's a good idea to order ahead. When I got home, I was super excited for the burrito! It looked amazing and honestly the first couple of bites were really good!! The flavor was good, the crunchy potatoes, eggs and cheese were yummy and I did enjoy the bacon. I thought it was a great burrito, but the more I ate it, the more salty it tasted so I ended up thinking it was just an okay burrito. I do wish they offered an option for sausage instead of bacon. I think overall, the place is very charming and the food isn't bad at all! I am glad I tried it I just don't think it's something I'd reach back for.
