Better than Jersey Mike's, but otherwise an average sandwich. After two visits, I don't see myself returning for a third when there are other places to try. The staff is friendly and polite, and ordering is quick and easy. It's a pleasant little café in a less desirable area, but they do a good job making the most of their space. read more

Description- A very small, clean shop that offers fresh sandwiches , salads and breakfast all day. Their hours are M-F 9:00 - 3:30p. The staffer was very informative about the Menu and easily answered my questions. She quickly made beautiful sandwiches that are offered with chips and drinks a la carte. There is a cozy patio that will seat 6 to 8 people on the side of the restaurant. There are umbrellas on the patio to protect you from the blazing sun while you eat. While the sandwiches that we ordered looked small, they were quite filling, and I was happy with the flavors and taste of my food. Overall this was a good experience and nice eatery. read more

Driving down San Fernando Road at the end of the Burbank Airport runway I found Seventeen Cafe. It was lunchtime and the patio with umbrella covered tables was inviting. The menu includes and array of sandwiches, salads, and soups all of which sounded tasty. I chose the chicken salad sandwich with a side order of the stuffed grape leaves. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming. The patio turned out to be well shaded and surrounded by a fence with a privacy screen which made this open air space feel very nice. The sandwich was made with fresh multigrain bread. The chicken salad was yummy accompanied by tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, pepperoncini and lettuce. All of the veggies were crunchy and fresh. So good! The stuffed grape leaves (always have to try the stuffed grape leaves when they are on the menu) tasted home made. The kind you would get as part of the offerings at a big family celebration! Yum! I loved my first visit to Seventeen Cafe. If I am in the area in the future I will definitely navigate here for lunch or just a quick snack. So glad I stopped by today! read more

Seems my review is going against the grain, but it is what it is. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast burrito. Description: scrambled eggs, cheese, green peppers, tomato and red onions. Nope. Wrong. Incorrect. Don't believe the hype. Instead I got scrambled eggs, MAYBE cheese, red peppers (no issue with different color), red onions, cabbage, pepperoncini, and lots and lots of arugula. There may or may not have been tomatoes in there. Usually veggies in a burrito are not crunchy. They're cooked and mixed in with the eggs. Nope, not in this burrito. Everything was crunchy. And let's talk about the obvious... arugula? Pepperoncini? Cabbage? Who sat there and decided these were a good idea for a burrito? They completely ruined the burrito in taste and texture and I'm simply not belonging. Absolute burrito sacrilege. If they added spinach that would have been acceptable but not crunchy lettuce! Taste-wise, same disappointment. No flavors jumped out at me whatsoever. I had to add Tabasco to get some flavor. Otherwise, bland and crunchy and not pleasant. They stuff it so deep with the arugula that when I pulled it out, the size of the burrito shrunk in half. (Photo of innards attaches.) Please, oh rule of the Seventeen Cafe kitchen, look up how to make a proper burrito and stop serving this horrific creation. read more

Seventeen Cafe - Extracted arugula and pepperoncini from the breakfast burrito. Pure sacrilege! - Cafes Near Me - Sun Valley, California

Why spend $12 on a Double Quarter Pounder meal at Mcdonalds that gets you full on that nasty grease and oil; only to have you feeling like crap the rest of the day. At this spot, I paid about $14, including tip, for a baguette black forest ham sandwich, a small bag of chips and an orange juice. Not only did the sandwich fill me up with legit deli meats and real ingredients, I couldn't even finish the other half of the sandwich because it was so whole. Let's break this down for those who are still skeptical: 1. Real Fucking Food. 2. Cheap Food. 3. Simple aesthetic, right to the point. The sandwich will do the talking. If you work in the area of Seventeen Cafe and you haven't been here, even though its been there for about 5 years now, you're fucking up. read more

Seventeen cafe is a little piece of heaven in an unexpected location. The cafe is in the middle of an industrial area in Burbank with unpaved roads in some portions which can make parking tricky but the visit is totally worth it. As soon as you step Into the cafe, you forget the hustle and bustle going on outside. The two women running the front counter are very sweet and quick to prepare your order. I tried the tuna sandwich on wheat with everything on it and a cup of their lentil soup. All of it was fresh and delicious! I highly suggest sitting in their small but shaded patio area, full of beautiful succulents! I like coming here on my lunch breaks because the food and the atmosphere both energize me and give me the fuel to finish my day! read more

Truly a diamond in the rough! Hours are really convenient for me so it was a treat to finally try this place out. Not sure if they have parking but I was able to find parking on seedy San Fernando Rd pretty nearby. Quaint little spot, where the sandwiches are served with simple and fresh ingredients. The two older ladies offer very friendly service at an affordable price. The establishment was extremely tidy, and I liked to cold salads/snacks they had to offer in the refrigerator. For eight dollars my sandwich was worth way more than I paid for read more

We left the Burbank airport on our way to the bellybutton of California. I mean Bakersfield. We were hungry and wanted something on our way to the freeway. Low and behold, I found Seventeen. We navigated our rented minivan, Darlene toward the location. My coworkers started questioning my ability to choose the food places as we weaved through a residential/commercial hybrid neighborhood. We finally ended up at a small, yet adorable spot. The succulent game is strong here! We sat on the adorable, small patio outside. Not good for groups and you should probably take it togo. We all did the combo with a sammich and soup, except for our boss she got the Olivier salad side. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. Y'all, I tasted the LOVE. From the design to their faces and the food, these ladies love what they do. I mean, someone cultivates that succulent jungle! read more

Solid sandwich spot in an otherwise food wasteland. Fresh, clean, and definitely not trendy. I got the Olivier Salad Sandwich which is a cross between potato salad and chicken salad on a chewy baguette. I would definitely recommend for a simple, fresh sandwich if you happen to be in this less than charming neighborhood during lunchtime. read more

Great new lunch spot in industrial Burbank. The sandwiches here are the freshest and quite tasty. My favorites are the ham and roast beef sandwiches, but honestly it's always a struggle deciding on what to order. Decent vegetarian options with their salads, mozzarella sandwich, and grape leaves appetizer. Love the sides options (salad, fruit salad, and chips) and lots of standard soda/water/juice options for lunch drinks. The place is decadently clean at all times and has a lovely little patio if you want to eat al fresco. The interior gets cramped pretty quickly, so takeout has been my go-to each time I've come. Both ladies I've encountered working the lunch hour are so sweet and whip up your meal to order in an efficient and lovely manner. read more

This little place is a hidden gem in the hood. It's on the industrial, homeless RV row of San Fernando Road across from the airport but it is delicious. The two ladies that are always there are so welcoming, friendly, and make delicious food. I've tried a good chunk of the menu including breakfast and nothing has disappointed yet. So happy to stumble across this place. Parking is a little crappy but you make due because it's so delicious. read more

This place is all I ever want in a lunch spot. Just FRESH, elegant food, great prices, and quick. They make what I would make for myself at home, which is hard to find out in the world of so many chains that use processed garbage on even seemingly healthy food. This place gets it. I love it. read more

What a beautifully simple cafe. Located off of the beaten path, not too far from the Burbank airport. ( I could definitely see/hear the planes take off while I was there) It was a little loud but I actually enjoyed that addition to the ambiance. There's parking along side the road and not difficult to find at all BUT be careful, only park where the dirt is leveled. I made the mistake of parking somewhere slightly raised and getting off that raised mound was not pretty. This "mom and pop" shop is very cute, from their large, paned, green, doors to the outdoor seating. The menu is pretty simple, they offer salads & sandwiches & iced coffee or hot tea. They also have a fridge with pasta salads on the side. Overall a great find and I'd definitely make my way back here if I'm in the area! read more

This little gem fits into the category of "what's a nice girl like you, doing in a place like this". My office is in an industrial area of Burbank near the north end of the Bob Hope Airport. This cafe is tucked away in a row of uninviting facades in various states of neglect along San Fernando Rd. I don't know how these delightful ladies chose this space, but I am grateful they did. Sandwiches All the sandwiches are served on a fresh baguette - white or wheat. These baguettes are great! Crispy exterior but yielding to the bite. They are not the dense sourdough type that shoots all the meat out the side when you bite into them. I like the tuna fish sandwich. I do have to ask them to go easy on the mayo. They put a great assortment of lettuce and veggies on the sandwich. Side Salad They make a potato salad that has ground chicken and egg in it. I like it. They also have a really good kale salad that I often get. Breakfast Burrito This is not your typical heavy, potato filled breakfast burrito. This is light and delicious. Comes as a vegetarian, but you can add meat. Stop by and try this place. You can watch the planes queue up for take off at the end of the runway. read more

I've passed by this place many times and it's really close to where I work. After reading some reviews I decided to give it a go and so far so good! I think the plants in the front give off a very fresh and natural vibe and the interior is very clean and modern looking. The side patio is very convenient and it's a nice spot to unwind a bit during lunch. I ordered a Black Forest Ham sandwich and I have to say it is quite tasty and I can't wait to try the other sandwiches and the breakfast too! I'm a big fan of local businesses and I hope this place continues to raise the bar far above most corporate franchises. Is it better than subway? Yes Better than Quiznos? Yes Why? Ingredients are more fresh and there was a lot of care and attention to detail in preparing my sandwich. It's nice when the person preparing my sandwich doesn't just throw on a mediocre amount of toppings but instead takes the time to make me something exceptional. I'll be back! read more

This is a gem of a place! It's a little oasis in the middle of an industrial area. Stopped here on the way to Magic Mountain and the ladies were super accommodating to my dietary restrictions. I work @ Burbank Airport Commerce Center (off San Fernando Road) I've been seeing this little cafe on the way in and out of the office for the past couple weeks but haven't been able to find it on Yelp! I finally stopped by this morning and met the owners who are so very nice! I found out they just opened a couple weeks ago and getting things going, Hence not being on Yelp yet! I thought I'd get the ball rolling for them since my visit was so lovely:) The cafe is small but very cute! It's all brand new and clean, the serve sandwiches, salads, pastries and there's a small sitting area up front. I ordered a veggie breakfast burrito to go and it was fresh and delicious! I wish I had time to hang out and eat my breakfast there it's so nice, maybe next time! I also found out they cater, so I will be letting our office manager know so we could look into that! I encourage everyone to come check out this new cafe since there's nothing like it for miles! Can't beat fresh food !! read more
