a variety of foods on a table

Great value! I actually enjoyed their rolls more than the garlic beef dish. Great salad app, miso soup Sweet potato tempura roll was BOGO and it was on point! The Sano roll had almost everything i liked - soft shell crab, shrimp tempura, bbq eel, fish egg and avocado- but somehow I expected more from it. Overall good value and will likely try a couple other things when I'm in the mood for sushi in the future!

Ordered the sushi and sashimi combo from the a la care menu which came with miso soup and salad on the side. No substitutions are allowed for the combos according to the waitress so had to stick with the two eel sushi pieces. Decent tasting sushi. Service was quick and efficient, we didn't have to wait long to order and get food (important as we were starving!). The restaurant itself was busy for a Sunday afternoon with most patrons opting for the AYCE but we did not need to wait for a table. If you're looking for a quick sushi bite around the area, this is a solid spot!

In the last 10 years or so this is the second incarnation of a sushi place in this exact location. Both places just also happened to be AYCE. I find a lot of sushi AYCE places start out strong but towards their end, they slowly but surely go downhill. Usually the service starts to go downhill then the food follows, then the hunt for the next great sushi place begins anew. So is the life cycle for an AYCE sushi joint it seems in the GTA. This place though seems to have a little bit more staying power I largely suspect due to the fact that the owner always seems to be around. Ever since the place first opened there is always a gentleman there. At first I assumed it was just the usual owner/manager keeping things in check then moving on to other things. But over time I noticed that nearly every time I went here, this same owner was doing something different. He would be making sushi one day, cleaning tables and serving the next. A few times I went here and didn't see him and thought he's finally taking a day off, but half way through my meal lo and behold I see him come out of the kitchen with an apron on I assume as he also cooks! It goes a long way for me when I see the owner/manager wear so many different hats. Having said that, it's a great plus to see him around as when he is I know that I will be getting exactly what I ordered. This place has menus where you can check off what you want on a piece of paper unlike a lot of newer places with their iPad. The menu is a very good variety of your standard fare AYCE sushi. If you have a huge craving for great sushi I don't hesitate to recommend this place, as they are very consistent in what they deliver each order and each time i go. Other places, the first order may be great but after that, the sushi pieces can slowly become stuffed with more rice (filler) and less meat. Portions start to get smaller each order and eventually it will look like they just threw pieces together. A pretty standard tactic for AYCE that tells you you have over stayed your welcome, but I never saw the food quality degrade during a meal here. And having been here a number of times I can say whole heartedly that they are very consistent. I would say this place is a very solid 3.5 star out of 5. This is still an AYCE, so keep your expectations in check as it's not an omakase meal here. But for an AYCE sushi place, this is probably one of the more consistent spots in the GTA. And with all the AYCE sushi places coming and going, it says a lot when someone says that this place is consistent in their food. Though be forewarned the service can be spotty, and mixed up orders do occur. Again its an AYCE place, so I can't say it's the best ever, but it definitely hits the spot when i have a craving for an AYCE sushi. TIP: Bring cash as their is a 10% discount if you pay in cash.

We was going to sit in the patio but they told us there bees and mosquito so they moved us to a private room which is not bad. It is all you can eat and the price reasonable. A lot of stuff to choose from and it is fresh. Will definitely come back here again.

    Salads Drowning in Dressing!

Everything that served here at Sano Sushi are drowned in some kind of orange sauces and gravy. I know I am in one of those AYCE Japanese nightmare when I saw my salads.. especially my Wakame salad that looks like a soup? My Red Tuna sushi looks so red just like one of those plastic fake one that used to decorate display windows, I really feel like I am falling deeper and deeper in this bad dream... Fried Fish Cake? that looks like a solid cube with a funny texture...and I think this tasted like the exact same sauce that is on my cold Grilled Salmon Neck? Why are the Sano shrimps (deep fried breaded shrimps) so cold and more orange sauces on top of them?! I just cannot do this anymore... at least the green tea ice cream bring me back to reality... 15% off if paying cash... But I don't think this is enough incentive for me to come here ever again!

I ordered from Sano Sushi last night using SkipTheDishes. The order was confirmed after about 5 minutes, and it was delivered within 35-40 minutes, so it was fast enough. The tempura was not good at all, i only had few bites and couldn't finish the appetizer portion. The breading on the shrimp was too light and tasteless, it was also over done and way over-fried! The vegetables tasted old and barely had any tempura breading on them. The edamame were ridiculously bad! My favourite app is the edamame wherever I go, however, I inly had 4 or 5 of this one, And it did it for me! No taste, no texture, seemed old 100%, no salt, nothing! As for the rolls, the shrimp roll didn't taste good at all, overpowering fish-eggs a d seaweed taste, while the only thing that tasted good was the spicy california rolls. Smaller portion/roll size compared to competition, but charging premium prices. I paid $40 for the above order as in the photos attached! Absolute rip-off for a tasteless bunch of items. I will not re-order from here, there are much better options nearby!

Ordered a platter for delivery via skipthedishes. I haven't been to much sushi places in Vaughan but this is now one of my favourites. Their fish to rice portion is AMAZING. There's little rice on the sushi and It's amazing. Sometimes, I would take out some rice out of sushi but Sano had a good ratio that I ate theirs as is. Presentation wise, it's not pretty. The rolls were also falling apart. But overall, the fish also tasted fresh. Will 100% dine in sometime soon.

This is a little Japanese restaurant that serves all your typical Japanese buffet food including sushi, maki rolls, teppanyaki, tempura, salad, katsu, handrolls, and desserts (and also with Chinese, Thai, and Korean options too). This was my first time here and I enjoyed the food! The selection was plentiful and the food arrived quickly and without anything being missed. I especially liked the curry chicken katsu (comfort food!), yakitori (which had amazingly tender chicken), seaweed salad, green dragon roll, cheese mango maki (who would have known that cheese and mango would work so well together?), mushroom teppanyaki, chocolate mousse, and salmon sushi. The cheese wonton was good too and had gooey cheese melting out of it!

Bento box meals tastes actually ok. Salmon teriyaki - tougher than what I had desired hence not a 4 star or higher Udon noodle soup was ok. Nothing really that stood out. Tastes at par with Smart Cook in Markham though Smart Cook's soup base seem more flavourful (and no or little msg as I don't get the usual getting-so-thirsty effect of msg). Try the beef bento as my kids seem to enjoy that more and didn't bother getting more of my salmon. Chicken katsu was quite acceptable though Nak Won's katsu is a clear winner compared to this. Lots of space here with room for a reservation of up to 20 people. Sushi was ok but not spectacular. Worth a try but not a place I would go out of my way to dine in.

Always love it here. Tons of options. I wish it was less expensive, but I think that's just the way it is with these AYCE sushi places now.

The music is a bit loud and reminded me of club/lounge music, not a chill jazz relaxing brunch atmosphere. Service was slow and the kitchen even slower. The Korean french toast has an amazing crunch on the outside and super moist and soft brioche inside. The four slices looked big but was very easy to demolish. PB & J Hamburger was interesting! That is definitely a brunchy sounding dish and it did not disappoint. It was a delicious, messy, goopy burger with so much flavour. Burrata arugula salad with long thin strips of prosciutto was very light. The fig wedges were sweet and this dish was a great starter without being too heavy. Biscoff Latte is always a pleaser; bit of a strange glassware choice for a hot beverage as it has no handles.

Rarely, would you find a place that can pull off being a brunch/lunch place during the mornings and afternoons and a club and lounge by night. On a Saturday morning where I was looking for a place to grab a bite and to kill a bit of time, I realized through Yelp that Sugar Cafe Lounge is actually open by 10am. I didn't even know they open in the mornings prior to this. The vibe of this place strikes me as a modernized Chinese karaoke place. It totally reminds me of the karaoke places that I used to frequent back in the day. They have the same black and neon purple/pink colour scheme. Dice shakers were readily available and visible. The modernisation portion can be attributed to the existence of a photo booth and kildult style cartoon characters wall stickers along the walls/window. And for a "club/lounge", the servers were definitely very polite and attentive which is a stark contrast to the service that you may come to expect in early 2000s karaoke places. My feeling towards the curry katsu egg Benedict is equally complicated. I think the dish has so much potential, but currently has several flaws. Let's start on a positive note. The hollandise sauce was a fit with the curry flavour. The built in acidity also worked to tone down the sauce's heaviness. But even with the acidity, it was a pretty heavy sauce. I like the taste of the sauce, but it's just too too heavy. The egg whites for the Benedict was a bit over cooked and getting on the rubbery side, yet the yolk remained runny. Which I found odd. The katsu pork is a bit on the smallish side and the batter did not seem like the Japanese panko style batter (seemed a bit closer to HK style). The pork was under seasoned, so the taste was hugely reliant on the sauce. They clearly used some form of milk bread for the dish. It's a decently thick slice, and it didn't seem like your typical wonder bread, but the bread also added to the heaviness of the entire dish. I have no clue how the vibe is at night or how busy it gets, but my feeling towards this place is a little bit complicated.

Personally, I felt like many of the dishes were elevated or fancier versions of Asian classics. The crab truffle chawanmushi was super creamy, with crab meat on top and truffle flavors. For $40...ya idk it wasn't anything crazy and I would have loved it with a bowl of rice (maybe that's me being too Chinese lol). But also I've seen other review of the chawanmushi and it seems like every time, the amount of crab on it is different. Mine didn't seem to have as much compared to the other pictures I have seen which just tell me that they have inconsistencies. It just felt like a lot to just be eating on its own. The mala cream udon was really tasty, I loved the creaminess, cheesiness, and the addition of Chinese pork and spices but it also felt like something that could be make at home. The tuna tataki came with only three pieces for $22, which felt quite small for the price. The flavors were good, but the portion was underwhelming. My favorite was probably the Basque cheesecake it had a rich, creamy texture with a slight hint of saltiness. The Korean fried chicken sliders were also great, the crispy chicken with a well-balanced sauce. For drinks, we got the Zazatar and Golden Pear, and both were really good. The Zazatar, in particular, was quite strong which I liked. While the food was enjoyable, it didn't quite feel worth the price. For this style of food, I think you could find similar options and flavors at a more reasonable price point elsewhere in Markham. Nothing of the dishes like blow me away which is why I'm saying this. The staff were very kind and attentive, which I appreciated. However, the timing of the dishes was a bit off. We received and finished the tuna, then the sliders came out, followed by the udon. Finished that and then we waited about 15-20 minutes before my main (the chawanmushi) arrived, which by that point my partner had already long finished eating. I understand that chawanmushi takes longer to prepare since it's steamed, but a heads-up or better coordination with the rest of the dishes would have been nice. Like severing the appetizers at the same time and serving the mains at the same time. Instead of having the dishes come out one by one and such a long wait between the mains. The space itself is beautiful, with an upscale vibe, great for catching up I don't regret trying it, but it's probably not somewhere I'd return to.

Initially we were going for the idea of breakfast, but timing was a bit off from what we anticipated and it was a really nice lunch date instead. I love the Markham Marriott, the staff is always warm and welcoming. Draco has a very sleek, sophisticated and cozy atmosphere. We both ordered Bacon & Cheddar burgers. I opted for a Caesar salad as an appetizer and hubby ordered their Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak. Let's start with the apps. The Caesar salad was SO good! I wish I had taken a pic, but admittedly, my phone was tucked away and I was caught up in the cozy seating, great food and Christmas vibes of the restaurant and lobby. Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak: $33 - Buttercup Squash Puree and Truffle Oil - Everything you want Wagyu to be - tender, cooked to the perfect temp which left a nice warm red centre. This was melt in your mouth good! The burgers - these were perfection! Draco Bacon Cheddar Burger: $25 - Aged Cheddar with Crispy Bacon Strips; Crispy Onion Straws, Arugula and Garlic Aioli. This was a very well seasoned patty, so juicy and a substantial sized patty of fresh not frozen beef. The bun was lightly toasted, bacon crispy, easily taking this into my top 3 fav spots for burgers! Options for sides include fries, sweet potato fries, poutine, side Caesar or garden salad or truffle fries. We finished off our meal with 2 really good cappuccinos and just took our time before heading home. This was our first time back here in a few years. The food was exceptional as was the service and the warm staff. Draco is the perfect spot for an early morning breakfast, work or lunch date or a nice cozy dinner. They also have Christmas & New Years dinners and brunches. Relax in the restaurant with drinks or in the adjacent lounge, this is a great spot to unwind with some great food and drinks.

I had chicken and waffles my daughter had steak and eggs. The steak was seasoned to perfection, my waffles were crispy and so was my chicken. I wanted lactose milk he heated it up for me which was a nice touch. Would recommend Drako 100%

Menu and ordering is all done via the QR code on the table. Interior is bright and spacious with a 'almost' open kitchen behind the cash where you can see the noodles being made. What was ordered: Pickled cabbage and pork dumplings Braised Beef Noodle Soup Beijing Style Sauce Fried Noodles Diced Eggplant and Pork on Noodles The texture of the hand pulled noodles is not bad. Good texture and chew. Their signature dish is the Beijing Style Sauce Fried Noodles. You get a bowl of warm plain noodles with a platter of julienned vegetables and a small bowl of sauce. You mix everything together before eating. Flavour was good but I would recommend to add the sauce to taste. We added it all at once and found the dish heavy. The Braised Beef Noodle Soup was good. The broth was light and flavourful with pieces pickled turnip under the noodles. Service was okay. We asked for extra bowls and chopsticks and had to remind the server even though they were not busy. Prices are decent. The 4 dishes came to just over 60 bucks. They have daily specials and on Monday it's was the Beijing style sauce noodles for 10.99.

But the egg was a bit overcooked, so not as runny as an authentic omurice. The croquette was very runny and a little too sweet. The Hojicha Latte was perfect though! Not too milky and had a subtle sweetness. Probably should have ordered one of their Soufflé Pancakes, but we were already full from our meal. It was lunch time, so the parking lot was pretty busy, but still able to find spots a little further away from the restaurant itself
