We did the ayce dinner here on a friday evening. It is $39.99 per adult. Toddlers 0-3 are free. The food came out quickly. The salmon sashimi is very good and is smooth with no stringy bits. The hot foods all came piping hot and were seasoned well. Rolls are full size, like one order is 8 pieces so if you're just 2 people you might not be able to order as many. Lots of booths that fit 2-4 people. Promotion of free bbt drink with a review on google. The free brown sugar pearl latte wasn't that good though. We visited Maple sushi last week and had a really positive experience. The Service: The service was fantastic. The employees serving our table kept bringing us tea and brought us our food very quickly. The portions were huge and we were very satisfied with our experience. The Ambiance: The ambiance at this restaurant is really nice. I'm very glad they survived COVID and are still around. They have gold diagonal resin decor in the middle of the restaurant, which creates a really nice aesthetic. We fully enjoyed the ambiance and it was such a nice change from eating at home. It was the perfect date night location. The Food: We ordered off the a la carte menu which makes the portions look much smaller than they are on the iPad menu. My theory is the photography is from the AYCE menu, which gives guests more variety with smaller plates. The a la carte menu provides huge portions of the dishes ordered. Classic Maki - I ordered the classic maki combo and added avocado to each roll and subbed out the California roll to a salmon avocado roll so it would be both gluten and dairy free. The fish was very fresh and the restaurant even had gluten free soya sauce for me to use (I did finish the bottle so I'm not sure they will have it when you go). The portion was huge and it was really good. Kitchen combo for One: - My fiancé ordered a kitchen combo for one. Since the photo was taken from the AYCE menu he also bought a sushi roll to go with it. The portion was actually huge and he could not eat it all. We took home leftovers and he had enough for lunch the next day. He said his dish was delicious and he would definitely order it again. Would we go back? Absolutely! 4.5 Stars overall. Randomly found this on Yelp and it was a hidden gem in the plaza. Came here on a Saturday night ($27.99/person) and it was a bit busy here. I cannot believe they offer all you can eat BBQ EEL sashimi for this price!! I have been to other Janapnese all you can eat restaurants at a higher price point and I could not find such good deal. Also, their sashimi was well prenested. Looked nice and fresh. Very thick salmon slices. Another "wow" is they also offer Lobster roll!! This will cost $15 - $18 at a regular à la carte Janpanes restaurant. I also like their Loyalty Program where you can collect points with dine in purchase. Good strategy on customer retention. This place wasn't that great. Not sure about the sushi but I got a pad Thai delivery and it didn't really taste like pad Thai. I wasn't expecting much because it is an Ayce sushi place but there was not many options to choose from through uber eats. The portion size however was great! Along with the pad Thai, I got miso soup and salad. The pad Thai was bland, it was not saucy and just didn't taste that great. The walnut shrimp was tasty, but overall it was somewhat disappointing and the quality of food was at a mediocre level. The rolls seemed somewhat big (which for some ppl might be a plus, but I found it cumbersome to eat.) Sadly, there wasn't enough selection of rolls. During mid conversation, waitress interrupts to let us know that we will be charged an additional $3 for a vegetarian sushi pizza, which we did not finish because unfortunately, it didn't taste good. I understand this is an AYCE establishment but when everything is being consumed and there is no wastage or over ordering happening from the customers at the table, then do not ruin their perfectly good time by threats of being charged extra for something that did not taste good. There is a time and place for everything. She could have just asked "why didn't you finish it?" Or she could have been more sensible and realized that "hmm.. they finished everything else. I'm not going to attack them for one dish. Maybe there was a good reason" All of this happened while we were still eating and it ruined my appetite for wanting to get anything else. Terrible service. Avoid this location. The service was awful and the servers were on their phones while the plate I ordered was just sitting there for eight minutes. The sushi chef was looking at it the entire time and didn't bother to tell the servers. The food was cold by the time it arrived. There was no soy sauce at the table and I had asked for some more than once and was told to go get it from another table. I am disgusted by the lack of respect for other guests. The quality and selection is about equal to 168 Sushi, which is more expensive and had previously been the best AYCE sushi in the area, they have an Ipad ordering system, and everything was made well. This place is extremely overrated. The customer service is atrocious. My friend had to leave to the hospital because he wasn't feeling well - he didn't have anything to eat, and when we proceeded to tell the waiter, he mentioned that does not matter and the full dinner price must be paid in a very rude tone. We kept mentioning that he didn't have a single roll, and the waiters response was "that's not my problem, I don't know what happened to him, he's paying the full dinner price". However last visit changed my views of this place reputation has been flushed to the toilet as well. We went there for AYCE on Sunday and placed our regular order, we also decided to get vegetarian pizza. When we got it and tried, we didn't really like the taste, so we put it aside and covered it with another plate on top and continue with the rest of food. In the middle of the conversation between me and my friend waiter came up and advised that we will be charged 3$ for the pizza which we did not finish. I obviously said I won't be paying for anything extra except 3 people bill. She tried to argue and tell me about some policy which I have no idea of existence...I made it very clear again that I either pay for the bill without any extra charges or I don't pay at all. Been there for both lunch and dinner in 2020. The food is delicious and there is a lot of variety (no sashimi at lunch). A lot of non raw fish options are available for people adverse to sushi. There is also a 10% cash discount at dinner. For groups of six or more, a 15% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. The sushi is fresh and the sizes are decent. The spider rolls come with a lot of rice and only one skinny soft shell crab leg. Rice on the sushi pizza isn't too thick; it's well fried and deliciously put together. The grilled eggplant is tasty; the torched salmon sushi is a must-try. No black sesame ice cream on the menu, and the green tea ice cream tastes like vanilla ice cream with a bit of matcha mixed in; the chocolate ice cream is the real deal. The mango panna cotta is yummy, and the multiple cake selection is nice. They have A LOT of takeout orders so the food is fresh. Ambience is casual and comfortable. Service is fast and attentive, but done with little acknowledgement and even less of a smile (not sure how glad they are to be working there). There is ample parking in the back. This place has been many different sushi places before it became maple. I have to say they are very good! Not much rice in their roll and decent amount of fillings. Food quality very good. Taste very good. Service good. Love doing their take out during lunch hour on their any three roll special. 3Xspicy salmon for 11 I have to say YES PLEASE anytime. My favourite specialty roll is "out of control" roll. Yummy! One -ve thing is their all you can eat is somewhat pricier side with not many side order options.
