We came here for their AYCE lunch and as usual I ordered plenty of avocado rolls. Avocado was fresh and rolls were delicious. Place is clean and spacious. Comfy booths. Order via tablet. Friendly service. Complimentary fountain drink upon checking in.

4.5 Stars overall. Randomly found this on Yelp and it was a hidden gem in the plaza. Came here on a Saturday night ($27.99/person) and it was a bit busy here. I cannot believe they offer all you can eat BBQ EEL sashimi for this price!! I have been to other Janapnese all you can eat restaurants at a higher price point and I could not find such good deal. Also, their sashimi was well prenested. Looked nice and fresh. Very thick salmon slices. Another "wow" is they also offer Lobster roll!! This will cost $15 - $18 at a regular à la carte Janpanes restaurant. I also like their Loyalty Program where you can collect points with dine in purchase. Good strategy on customer retention. Finally, the waiter who served us was nice and friendly. He cleaned both table and the seat each time after customers left. I will recommend this place to my friends.

This is a clean and trendy restaurant with great service. The sushi is fresh and the food is delicious. The owner had another restaurant But he went here. Just as good and a little more clean. All the classics are there and a few New surprises.

Chicken Pad Thai with Side Salad and Miso Soup

This place wasn't that great. Not sure about the sushi but I got a pad Thai delivery and it didn't really taste like pad Thai. I wasn't expecting much because it is an Ayce sushi place but there was not many options to choose from through uber eats. The portion size however was great! Along with the pad Thai, I got miso soup and salad. The pad Thai was bland, it was not saucy and just didn't taste that great. Overall, I don't think I'd be ordering here again or even trying it out in person, I feel like there are better ayce options around the area.

    Too much rice on rolls

Worst sushi I've ever eaten, too much rice on rolls, they also add avocado on my yum and shrimp tempura rolls even though I didn't ask ( allergic to avocado), rice is very mushy and doesn't taste good

My hubby and I are on a hunt for an affordable and delicious ayce sushi spot ever since our regular sushi joint decided to discontinue their ayce menu :( Maple sushi is in our area so we decided to venture on over during the early Monday evening. So here's the breakdown... Service: We were greeted and seated immediately. Wait times for food were quick and drinks were refreshed in a timely manner. Decor: Fairly modern and clean establishment. Food: We ordered a variety of food from seaweed salad to beef rolls to sashimi/sushi. The walnut shrimp was tasty, but overall it was somewhat disappointing and the quality of food was at a mediocre level. The rolls seemed somewhat big (which for some ppl might be a plus, but I found it cumbersome to eat.) Sadly, there wasn't enough selection of rolls. All in all, if you happen to be in the area and are in the mood for nothing too flashy with subpar food, then this is the place to go.

The main portion of the dish is super tender braised pork knuckle (not as weird as it may sound) on a bed of white rice glazed with a house Chinese BBQ sauce. It comes with sides of pickled "sour" veggies (酸菜), cabbage, tofu, and hard boiled egg. The pork knuckle almost melts in your mouth and is so decadent with the BBQ sauce. The sides give nice textural contrast and palette contrast. VALUE (5/5) The pork knuckle rice altogether is $10 plus tax and leaves you full and fulfilled. Great portions and is balanced with good proportion of meat, rice, and veggies. They only take debit or cash. LOCATION (3.5/5) Located on the East side of Yonge St by Northtown Way, it is halfway between Finch and North York Center subway stations. There is paid street parking along Yonge. Once you start those wings, you can't stop. In fact, these wings are so good that I ordered 200 of them for my party last winter, and I still don't get tired of those damn wings! Also - they are great if you keep them in the fridge for a day & reheat them too. Although their fried rice and vegetables are not as out-of-this-world as their wings, they all still pack great wok hei while tasting surprisingly "healthy" (because they are not as heavily seasoned as other Chinese food places). I think the chef wanted to ensure that the other dishes did not steal the show of their wings. Overall, I strongly recommend China Wok Superb Chinese food, regardless of whether you want to grab a combo meal with wings, rice and vegetables or just ten wings for a meal. They are all great options with a decent price.

The restaurant was packed and it was a bit hard to get a hold of a server at times, but their service was pretty good overall given the speed, ability to customize some menu items, and attentiveness. We ordered the Scallops with Vegetables, and we got to choose what type of vegetables we wanted (usually we don't get to choose in other Chinese restaurants). We opted for choy sum, but we also could've chosen from a selection of mixed vegetables, bok choy, snow peas, mushrooms, etc. Surprisingly, the scallops came as jumbo scallops. I was expecting smaller-sized scallops like in other Chinese restaurants. The dish was tasty and I could taste the ginger. Seafood and Garlic Fried Rice was alright - no different than those in other similar restaurants. The rice was quite dry and there were small pieces of shrimps and scallops in the mix.

I had forgotten that it was customary after a Chinese funeral (his mom was Chinese and her husband was Vietnamese) to have something to eat after a funeral. I was moved that he was thinking of me during a difficult time. I said yes. He got his niece to get me the address of the restaurant. She conveniently had a business card, which made it easy. I saw Legend Chinese Restaurant. I put it into my maps app, and drove my friend and me over there. He insisted that I drive him. Maybe my company provided him comfort. I know that the reverse was true. It was nice to spend some more time catching up with him as we headed northbound. This eatery is in a plaza with Red Lobster across from it. We had dined there together eons ago. There was lots of parking. I backed into a spot and we walked over to the restaurant. A woman greeted us. Both of us wearing black made her realize that we were a part of a larger group that had come from a funeral. She pointed us into a closed area with wall dividers that separated us from the rest of the customers chowing down. We didn't have dim sum. Instead, we had an eight-course meal. I had never dined here, so I was looking forward to what we were about to eat. Each table had to make one seat space open for the server to come with food. I happened to be next to this gap. It has its pros and cons. I helped move dishes and such to make way for new dishes to arrive. Our server did spill some water on the table, but it wasn't crazy. I loved the lazy Susan. Our table had eight people. It was needed to get to whatever we wanted on it. We had hot looseleaf tea and hot water in tea pots. The tea was yummy, but I had no clue what it was. We ended up pouring the hot water into the looseleaf tea pot when we were running low. Our server was also great to refill the pot with the looseleaf tea a number of times. We got the following items during our meal: - Roasted pork - Shrimp and scallop soup - Chicken - Sweet and sour pork - Shrimp and scallops with sugar snaps - Steamed fish - Mushrooms with baby bok choy - Tofu pudding - Fortune cookies Half our table were vegetarians, so almost everything wasn't suitable, except for the tofu pudding. Folks at the table were kind to let me take photos of most dishes before we wrecked them, except for the vegetarian tofu vegetable medley that came out. They were so hangry that they simply went in. I have a mental picture of the generous rectangles of tofu, with mushrooms and baby bok choy. There may have been more veggies. I was happy that they could finally eat! We started with the roasted pork. It was excellent. The pork was succulent. The pork skin was crispy. Delicious! I loved the shrimp and scallop soup. It had small cubes of shrimp and baby scallops in a nice broth. The large bowl of soup sat next to me. It was deadly. I love soup. No one wanted seconds, so I polished it all. The chicken was tender. It was nice with the scallion oil. My friend and I remarked that the sweet and sour pork was excellent. It's probably because we are so used to chicken as the protein. The pork was crispy even with the sweet and sour sauce coating each morsel. The pork was tender. I loved the bell pepper and the pineapple chunks. The shrimp and scallops with sugar snaps was divine. I love sugar snaps and they were perfectly cooked while still crispy. The shrimp and scallops were large and yummy. I grew up with my mom steaming an entire fish. It's dealing with the bones that is annoying. Thankfully, a man at our table went ahead and portioned out the fish such that he eliminated most of the bones. Wow! Can I have this man de-fillet any fish that I want to eat?! The fish was naturally yummy from the steaming method. I loved the green onions on top and the soy-based sauce. I love mushrooms. The fact that we had an assorted mushroom dish with baby bok choy was awesome! Sadly, there was oyster sauce in this dish, so the vegetarians couldn't enjoy it with us. There were two different types of mushrooms. The large ones were meaty. The smaller ones were yummy, but difficult to pick up with chopsticks. I ended up eating them with a soup spoon. There was steamed rice at our table. I had some with the mushroom sauce. It was delicious. We ended up with tofu pudding. We got to scoop the tofu out and then add the syrup. The tofu and syrup were warm. It was a delightful dessert that wasn't all that sweet. We got a large bowl of fortune cookies to end our meal. My fortune said that I tend to be straightforward and honest. My friend joked that my fortune was completely wrong... haha! I used the washroom before I headed home. The women's washroom was clean. No complaints. I loved the food here. It was top-notch delicious. It was comforting and much needed. I'd love to have dim sum here and see what that's like. (413)

Ambiance was like your typical Chinese restaurant. Nothing to write home about. We ordered some of their signature dishes including house super bowl congee, Teriyaki Seafood ramen, Crispy Deep Fried Tofu, Stir Fried Sirloin with Rice Noodle and Satay sauce, Empress Fried Rice, salt and Pepper Squid, and Honey Garlic chicken wings . I also got the Red Bean Grass Jelly Ice cream Freeze. Honestly, I've came here before and I would say Congee Queen is very standard Cantonese food. Although funnily enough, we didn't exactly order much Cantonese food at all. Everything we had was quite good and the portion sizes were fair. I really liked the teriyaki seafood ramen, stir fried sirloin with rice noodle, squid and chicken wings. The red bean freeze was very delicious as well. It had the perfect amount of sweetness. The only dish I would not recommend is the deep fried tofu. It was way too bland. Service for the most part was good. However, I really have to call this one waiter out. He was just so incompetent... We ordered two orders of the chicken wings, and when he brought them over, he said it would be a good idea to transfer the chicken wings to 1 single plate to save space. Then he proceeded to tell us that he isn't very good at that and requested us to do it. Which I thought is just kind of ridiculous considering that is his job lol. And then when he brought us water on a waiter tray, he somehow spilled the entire tray with like 10 glasses of water onto my friend's lap. My friend is very nice and didn't make a big deal out of it but he had to ride his motorcycle back in chilly weather with wet pants. I can't imagine that being very fun for him.
